[1]When saw but Ieshu the crowds He went up to a mountain and when He sat down came near to Him His disciples [1]BUT when Jeshu saw the multitudes, he ascended a mountain; and when he had sat down, his disciples drew near to him;
[2]And He opened His mouth and teaching He was them and He said [2]And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
[3]Blessed are they who are poor in The Spirit because theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven [3]BLESSED [are] the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
[4]Blessed are they who are mourning for they will be comforted [4]Blessed the mourners, for they shall be comforted.
[5]Blessed are they who are meek for they will inherit the earth [5]Blessed the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
[6]Blessed are they those who hunger and thirst for justice for they will be satisfied [6]Blessed they who hunger and thirst unto righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
[7]Blessed are they who show mercy for upon them there will be mercies [7]Blessed the merciful, for upon them shall be mercy.
[8]Blessed are they those who are pure in their hearts for they shall see to Alaha [8]Blessed they who are pure in their hearts, for they shall see Aloha.
[9]Blessed are they that make peace for the children of Alaha they will be called [9]Blessed the makers of peace, for the children of Aloha shall they be called.
[10]Blessed are they those who have been persecuted for the cause of justice for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven [10]Blessed they who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
[11]Blessed are you whenever they revile you and persecute you and they say against you every word evil for My sake in falsehood [11]Blessed are you when they treat you with reviling, and persecute you, and say concerning you every evil word, for my sake, in falsity.
[12]Then rejoice and exult because your reward is great in Heaven thus for they persecuted the prophets those who were before you [12]Then be glad and exult, for your reward is great in heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you.
[13]You are the salt of the earth if that but salt becomes insipid with what will it be salted? for a thing not it is fit except to be thrown outside and be trodden by people [13]You are the salt of the earth: but if it happen that salt become tasteless, with what shall it be seasoned? It goeth for nothing but to be thrown without and trodden down by men.
[14]You are the light of the world not it is possible for you to hide a city that upon a mountain has been built [14]You are the light of the world: It is not possible that a city which is built upon a hill can be hidden.
[15]And not they light a lamp and set it under a basket but on a lampstand and it gives light to all those who in the house are [15]Nor do they kindle a lamp and place it beneath a measure, but on a candlestick, and it enlighteneth all who are in the house.
[16]Thus will shine your light before the children of men that they may see your works good and may glorify your Father Who is in heaven [16]So let your light shine before the sons of men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
[17]Not think that I have come that I should revoke The Torah or The Prophets not I have come that I should revoke but that I should fulfill [17]Think not that I came to loose the law or the prophets: not that I might loose, but that I might fulfill.
[18]Amen for say I to you that until will pass away Heaven and the earth Yodh one or one Taag not will pass away from The Torah until everything will come to pass [18]For, Amen I say unto you, that until heaven and earth shall pass away, one yod, or one point, shall not pass from the law, till all be done.
[19]Everyone who therefore violates one of commandments these small and will teach thus to the children of men little will be called in the Kingdom of Heaven everyone but who will do and will teach the same great will be called in the Kingdom of Heaven [19]Every one, therefore, who shall set loose one from these least commandments, and shall so teach the children of men, the least shall he be called in the kingdom of heaven: but every one who shall do and teach, [them] this [one] shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[20]Say I to you for that unless will increase your goodness more than that of the Scribes and The Pharisees not you will enter the Kingdom of Heaven [20]For I say to you, that unless your righteousness shall abound more than that of the scribes and the Pharishee, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
[21]You have heard that it was said to the ancients do not murder and everyone who will murder condemned that one is to judgment [21]YOU have heard that it was said unto them who were before, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill is obnoxious to the judgment.
[22]I but saying am to you that everyone who will be angry against his brother without cause condemned is before the judge and everyone who will say to his brother I spit on you condemned is before the assembly and whoever will say fool condemned is to Gehenna of fire [22]But I say unto you, that he who is angry against his brother rashly, is obnoxious to the judgment; and he who shall say to his brother, Thou empty one! is liable to the council; and every one who shall say, Thou fool! is liable to the gihano of fire.
[23]If do therefore bring you your offering unto the altar and there you remember that holds against you your brother grudge any [23]If it occur, therefore, that thou bring thy oblation to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother retaineth some enmity against thee;
[24]Leave there your offering before the altar and go first be reconciled with your brother and then come bring your offering [24]Leave there thy oblation at the altar, and go, first be reconciled with thy brother, and then come and offer thy oblation.
[25]Be allied with ? your plaintiff quickly while with him you on the street lest ? your plaintiff deliver you to the judge and the judge delivers you to the tax collector and you fall into the house of prisoners [25]Be at one with thine adversary quickly, while thou art with him in the way; lest thy adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the exactor, and thou fall into the house of the bound.
[26]And truly say I to you that not you will come out from there until you give farthing [one quarter of a cent] the last [26]And, Amen I say unto thee, that thou shalt not come forth from thence till thou hast rendered the last shamuna.
[27]You have heard that it was spoken not you shall commit adultery [27]You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt not commit adultery.
[28]I but saying am to you everyone who looks at a woman so as to lust for her at once commits adultery with her in his heart [28]But I say to you, that every one who beholdeth a woman so as that he shall desire her, already committeth adultery in his heart.
[29]If but your eye of the right side stumbles you pluck it out and cast it from you it is profitable for you for that be lost one your member and not entire your body should fall into Gehenna [29]But if thy right eye cause thee to offend, root it out and cast it from thee: it is better to thee that one of thy members should perish, than that thy whole body should fall into gihano.
[30]And if your hand of the right stumbles you cut it off cast it from you it is profitable to you for that be lost one of your members and not entire your body fall into Gehenna [30]And if thy right hand cause thee to offend, cut it off and cast it from thee; for it is better to thee that one from thy members should perish, rather than thy whole body should fall into gihano.
[31]It has been said that whoever divorces His wife let Him give her a writing of repudiation [31]It hath been said, that he who looseth his wife should give her a writing of divorcement.
[32]I but saying am to you that everyone who divorces His wife apart from the report of fornication He causes her that she will commit adultery and whoever takes her that is divorced is committing adultery [32]But I say unto you, that whosoever looseth his wife, except on account of fornication, maketh her to commit adultery; and whosoever taketh her who is sent away, committeth adultery.
[33]Again you have heard that it was said to the ancients that not you will lie in your oath you will fulfill but to the Lord the Lord your oaths [33]Again, you have heard it was said to those beforetime, Thou shalt not lie in thine oaths, but shalt fulfil thine oaths unto the Lord.
[34]I but say I to you not you shall swear at all not by Heaven for the throne it is of Alaha [34]But I say unto you, Swear not at all: not by heaven, for it is the throne of Aloha;
[35]Neither by the earth for the stool it is under His feet nor by Jerusalem for the city it is of The King the Great [35]Nor by earth, for it is the foot-stool beneath his feet; neither by Urishlem, for it is the city of the great king.
[36]Neither by your head shall you swear because not can you make in it hair a certain of the hairs black or white [36]Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, for thou canst not make a single hair in it either black or white.
[37]But shall be your statement Yes Yes and No No anything that these exceeds from the evil one is [37]But let your discourse be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay; for whatsoever is more than these is from the evil.
[38]You have heard that it was said an eye in exchange for an eye and a tooth in exchange for a tooth [38]You have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.
[39]I but saying am to you that not you shall rise up against an evil person but whoever strikes you on your cheek of the right side turn to him also the other [39]But I say unto you, that you shall not rise up against evil: but if any one strike thee on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.
[40]And whoever wants to sue with you and take your coat leave to him also your cloak [40]And if any one will contend with thee to take away thy tunic, leave him thy mantle also;
[41]Whoever compels you to go mile one go with him two [41]And if a man compel thee one mile, go with him twain.
[42]Whoever asks you give to him and whoever wants to borrow from you not you shall refuse him [42]Give to him who asketh from thee, and him who would borrow from thee refuse not.
[43]You have heard that it was said Show kindness to your neighbor and hate your enemy [43]You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
[44]I but say I to you love your enemies and bless the one who curses you and do what is beautiful to the one who hates you and pray over those who take you by force and persecute you [44]But I say unto you, Love your enemies; bless them who execrate you; do that which is good to him who hateth you; and pray for them who lead you with a chain, and persecute you.
[45]So that you will become the children of your Father Who in Heaven is for rises His sun on the good and upon the evil and descends His rain on the just and on the unjust [45]That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who causeth his sun to arise on the good and on the evil, and who sendeth showers on the just and on the unjust.
[46]If for love you those who love you what? benefit is it to you not? Behold even the tax collectors that same thing are doing [46]For if you love those [only] who love you, what reward have you? do not even the tribute-gatherers this?
[47]And if invoking you are the peace of your brethren only what thing excellent doing are you? are not Behold even the tax collectors that same thing doing? [47]And if you wish peace to your brethren only, what more do you than they? do not also the tribute-gatherers this?
[48]Shall be therefore you perfect just as your Father Who is in Heaven perfect is [48]Be ye therefore perfect, as your Father who is in heaven is perfect!
