[1]Now Korah the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi went apart with Dathan, and Abiram the sons of Eliab, and On the son of Peleth, the sons of Reuben: |

[2]And they rose up against Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty captains of the assembly, famous in the congregation, and men of renown, |
| [3]And they gathered themselves togetherH6950[H8735] against MosesH4872 and against AaronH175, and saidH559[H8799] unto them, Ye take too muchH7227 upon you, seeing all the congregationH5712 are holyH6918, every one of them, and the LORDH3068 is amongH8432 them: wherefore then lift ye upH5375[H8691] yourselves above the congregationH6951 of the LORDH3068? |
[3]Who gathered themselves together against Moses, and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation is holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherefore then lift ye yourselves above the congregation of the Lord? |

[4]But when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face, |

[5]And spake to Korah and unto all his company, saying, Tomorrow the Lord will show who is his, and who is holy, and who ought to approach near unto him: and whom he hath chosen, he will cause to come near to him. |

[6]This do therefore, Take you censers, both Korah, and all his company, |

[7]And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the Lord tomorrow: and the man whom the Lord doth choose, the same shall be holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi. |

[8]Again Moses said unto Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi. |

[9]Seemeth it a small thing unto you that the God of Israel hath separated you from the multitude of Israel, to take you near to himself, to do the service of the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the congregation and to minister unto them? |
| [10]And he hath brought thee nearH7126[H8686] to him, and all thy brethrenH251 the sonsH1121 of LeviH3878 with thee: and seekH1245[H8765] ye the priesthood alsoH3550? |
[10]He hath also taken thee to him, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee, and seek ye the office of the priest also? |

[11]For which cause, thou, and all thy company are gathered together against the Lord: and what is Aaron, that ye murmur against him? |

[12]And Moses sent to call Dathan, and Abiram the sons of Eliab: who answered, We will not come up. |

[13]Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except thou make thyself lord and ruler over us also? |

[14]Also thou hast not brought us unto a land that floweth with milk and honey, neither given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up. |
| [15]And MosesH4872 was veryH3966 wrothH2734[H8799], and saidH559[H8799] unto the LORDH3068, RespectH6437[H8799] not thou their offeringH4503: I have not takenH5375[H8804] oneH259 assH2543 from them, neither have I hurtH7489[H8689] one of themH259. |
[15]Then Moses waxed very angry, and said unto the Lord, Look not unto their offering: I have not taken so much as an ass from them, neither have I hurt any of them. |
| [16]And MosesH4872 saidH559[H8799] unto KorahH7141, Be thou and all thy companyH5712 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, thou, and they, and AaronH175, to morrowH4279: |
[16]And Moses said unto Korah, Be thou and all thy company before the Lord: both thou, they, and Aaron tomorrow: |

[17]And take every man his censer, and put incense in them, and bring ye every man his censer before the Lord, two hundred and fifty censers: thou also and Aaron, every one his censer. |

[18]So they took every man his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood in the door of the tabernacle of the congregation with Moses and Aaron. |
| [19]And KorahH7141 gatheredH6950[H8686] all the congregationH5712 against them unto the doorH6607 of the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150: and the gloryH3519 of the LORDH3068 appearedH7200[H8735] unto all the congregationH5712. |
[19]And Korah gathered all the multitude against them unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: then the glory of the Lord appeared unto all the congregation. |
| [20]And the LORDH3068 spakeH1696[H8762] unto MosesH4872 and unto AaronH175, sayingH559,[H8800] |
[20]And the Lord spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying, |
| [21]SeparateH914[H8734] yourselves from amongH8432 this congregationH5712, that I may consumeH3615[H8762] them in a momentH7281. |
[21]Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them at once. |
| [22]And they fellH5307[H8799] upon their facesH6440, and saidH559[H8799], O GodH410, the GodH430 of the spiritsH7307 of all fleshH1320, shall oneH259 manH376 sinH2398[H8799], and wilt thou be wrothH7107[H8799] with all the congregationH5712? |
[22]And they fell upon their faces and said, O God the God of the spirits, of all flesh, hath not one man only sinned, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation? |
| [23]And the LORDH3068 spakeH1696[H8762] unto MosesH4872, sayingH559,[H8800] |
[23]And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, |
| [24]SpeakH1696[H8761] unto the congregationH5712, sayingH559[H8800], Get you upH5927[H8734] from aboutH5439 the tabernacleH4908 of KorahH7141, DathanH1885, and AbiramH48. |
[24]Speak unto the congregation and say, Get you away from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan and Abiram. |
| [25]And MosesH4872 rose upH6965[H8799] and wentH3212[H8799] unto DathanH1885 and AbiramH48; and the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478 followedH3212[H8799] himH310. |
[25]Then Moses rose up, and went unto Dathan and Abiram, and the elders of Israel followed him. |
| [26]And he spakeH1696[H8762] unto the congregationH5712, sayingH559[H8800], DepartH5493[H8798], I pray you, from the tentsH168 of these wickedH7563 menH582, and touchH5060[H8799] nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumedH5595[H8735] in all their sinsH2403. |
[26]And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye perish in all their sins. |
| [27]So they gat upH5927[H8735] from the tabernacleH4908 of KorahH7141, DathanH1885, and AbiramH48, on every sideH5439: and DathanH1885 and AbiramH48 came outH3318[H8804], and stoodH5324[H8737] in the doorH6607 of their tentsH168, and their wivesH802, and their sonsH1121, and their little childrenH2945. |
[27]So they gat them away from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan and Abiram on every side: and Dathan, and Abiram came out and stood in the door of their tents with their wives, and their sons, and their little children. |
| [28]And MosesH4872 saidH559[H8799], Hereby ye shall knowH3045[H8799] that the LORDH3068 hath sentH7971[H8804] me to doH6213[H8800] all these worksH4639; for I have not done them of mine own mindH3820. |
[28]And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the Lord hath sent me to do all these works: for I have not done them of mine own mind. |
| [29]If these men dieH4191[H8799] the common deathH4194 of all menH120, or if they be visitedH6485[H8735] after the visitationH6486 of all menH120; then the LORDH3068 hath not sentH7971 meH8804. |
[29]If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men, the Lord hath not sent me. |
| [30]But if the LORDH3068 makeH1254[H8799] a new thingH1278, and the earthH127 openH6475[H8804] her mouthH6310, and swallow them upH1104[H8804], with all that appertain unto them, and they go downH3381[H8804] quickH2416 into the pitH7585; then ye shall understandH3045[H8804] that these menH582 have provokedH5006[H8765] the LORDH3068. |
[30]But if the Lord make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up with all that they have, and they go down quick into the pit, then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the Lord. |
| [31]And it came to pass, as he had made an endH3615[H8763] of speakingH1696[H8763] all these wordsH1697, that the groundH127 clave asunderH1234 that was under themH8735: |
[31]And as soon as he had made an end of speaking all these words, even the ground clave asunder that was under them, |
| [32]And the earthH776 openedH6605[H8799] her mouthH6310, and swallowed them upH1104[H8799], and their housesH1004, and all the menH120 that appertained unto KorahH7141, and all their goodsH7399. |
[32]And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, with their families, and all the men that were with Korah, and all their goods. |
| [33]They, and all that appertained to them, went downH3381[H8799] aliveH2416 into the pitH7585, and the earthH776 closedH3680[H8762] upon them: and they perishedH6[H8799] from amongH8432 the congregationH6951. |
[33]So they and all that they had, went down alive into the pit, and the earth covered them: so they perished from among the congregation. |
| [34]And all IsraelH3478 that were round aboutH5439 them fledH5127[H8804] at the cryH6963 of them: for they saidH559[H8804], Lest the earthH776 swallow us upH1104 alsoH8799. |
[34]And all Israel that were about them, fled at the cry of them: for they said, Let us flee, lest the earth swallow us up. |
| [35]And there came outH3318[H8804] a fireH784 from the LORDH3068, and consumedH398[H8799] the two hundredH3967 and fiftyH2572 menH376 that offeredH7126[H8688] incenseH7004. |
[35]But there came out a fire from the Lord, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered the incense. |
| [36]And the LORDH3068 spakeH1696[H8762] unto MosesH4872, sayingH559,[H8800] |
[36]And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, |
| [37]SpeakH559[H8798] unto EleazarH499 the sonH1121 of AaronH175 the priestH3548, that he take upH7311[H8686] the censersH4289 outH996 of the burningH8316, and scatterH2219[H8798] thou the fireH784 yonderH1973; for they are hallowedH6942.[H8804] |
[37]Speak unto Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter the fire beyond the altar: for they are hallowed, |
| [38]The censersH4289 of these sinnersH2400 against their own soulsH5315, let them makeH6213[H8804] them broadH7555 platesH6341 for a coveringH6826 of the altarH4196: for they offeredH7126[H8689] them beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, therefore they are hallowedH6942[H8799]: and they shall be a signH226 unto the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. |
[38]The censers , I say, of these sinners, that destroyed themselves: and let them make of them broad plates for a covering of the Altar: for they offered them before the Lord, therefore they shall be holy, and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel. |
| [39]And EleazarH499 the priestH3548 tookH3947[H8799] the brasenH5178 censersH4289, wherewith they that were burntH8313[H8803] had offeredH7126[H8689]; and they were made broadH7554[H8762] plates for a coveringH6826 of the altarH4196: |
[39]Then Eleazar the priest took the brazen censers, which they, that were burned, had offered, and made broad plates of them for a covering of the altar. |
| [40]To be a memorialH2146 unto the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, thatH834[H4616] no strangerH376[H2114][H8801], which is not of the seedH2233 of AaronH175, come nearH7126[H8799] to offerH6999[H8687] incenseH7004 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068; that he be not as KorahH7141, and as his companyH5712: as the LORDH3068 saidH1696[H8765] to him by the handH3027 of MosesH4872. |
[40]It is a remembrance unto the children of Israel, that no stranger which is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the Lord, that he be not like Korah and his company, as the Lord said to him by the hand of Moses. |
| [41]But on the morrowH4283 all the congregationH5712 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 murmuredH3885[H8735] against MosesH4872 and against AaronH175, sayingH559[H8800], Ye have killedH4191[H8689] the peopleH5971 of the LORDH3068. |
[41]But on the morrow all the multitude of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the Lord. |
| [42]And it came to pass, when the congregationH5712 was gatheredH6950[H8736] against MosesH4872 and against AaronH175, that they lookedH6437[H8799] toward the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150: and, behold, the cloudH6051 coveredH3680[H8765] it, and the gloryH3519 of the LORDH3068 appearedH7200.[H8735] |
[42]And when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, then they turned their faces toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared. |
| [43]And MosesH4872 and AaronH175 cameH935[H8799] beforeH6440 the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150. |
[43]Then Moses and Aaron were come before the tabernacle of the congregation. |
| [44]And the LORDH3068 spakeH1696[H8762] unto MosesH4872, sayingH559,[H8800] |
[44]And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, |
| [45]Get you upH7426[H8734] from amongH8432 this congregationH5712, that I may consumeH3615[H8762] them as in a momentH7281. And they fellH5307[H8799] upon their facesH6440. |
[45]Get you up from among this congregation: for I will consume them quickly: then they fell upon their faces. |
| [46]And MosesH4872 saidH559[H8799] unto AaronH175, TakeH3947[H8798] a censerH4289, and putH5414[H8798] fireH784 therein from offH6440 the altarH4196, and putH7760[H8798] on incenseH7004, and goH3212[H8685] quicklyH4120 unto the congregationH5712, and make an atonementH3722[H8761] for them: for there is wrathH7110 gone outH3318[H8804] from the LORDH3068; the plagueH5063 is begunH2490.[H8689] |
[46]And Moses said unto Aaron, Take the censer and put fire therein of the altar, and put therein incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the Lord: the plague is begun. |
| [47]And AaronH175 tookH3947[H8799] as MosesH4872 commandedH1696[H8765], and ranH7323[H8799] into the midstH8432 of the congregationH6951; and, behold, the plagueH5063 was begunH2490[H8689] among the peopleH5971: and he putH5414[H8799] on incenseH7004, and made an atonementH3722[H8762] for the peopleH5971. |
[47]Then Aaron took as Moses commanded him, and ran into the midst of the congregation, and behold, the plague was begun among the people, and he put in incense, and made an atonement for the people. |
| [48]And he stoodH5975[H8799] between the deadH4191[H8801] and the livingH2416; and the plagueH4046 was stayedH6113.[H8735] |
[48]And when he stood between the dead, and them that were alive, the plague was stayed. |
| [49]Now they that diedH4191[H8801] in the plagueH4046 were fourteenH702[H6240] thousandH505 and sevenH7651 hundredH3967, beside them that diedH4191[H8801] about the matterH1697 of KorahH7141. |
[49]So they died of this plague fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died in the conspiracy of Korah. |
| [50]And AaronH175 returnedH7725[H8799] unto MosesH4872 unto the doorH6607 of the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150: and the plagueH4046 was stayedH6113.[H8738] |
[50]And Aaron went again unto Moses before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the plague was stayed. |
