[1]ὁ ἀγαπῶν παιδείαν ἀγαπᾷ αἴσθησιν ὁ δὲ μισῶν ἐλέγχους ἄφρων [1]Who so loueth correction loueth knowledge: but he that hateth to be reproued is a foole
[2]κρείσσων ὁ εὑρὼν χάριν παρὰ κυρίῳ ἀνὴρ δὲ παράνομος παρασιωπηθήσεται [2]A good man is acceptable vnto the Lorde: but the wicked imaginer wyll he condempne
[3]οὐ κατορθώσει ἄνθρωπος ἐξ ἀνόμου αἱ δὲ ῥίζαι τῶν δικαίων οὐκ ἐξαρθήσονται [3]A man can not endure in vngodlinesse: but the roote of the ryghteous shall not be moued
[4]γυνὴ ἀνδρεία στέφανος τῷ ἀνδρὶ αὐτῆς ὥσπερ δὲ ἐν ξύλῳ σκώληξ οὕτως ἄνδρα ἀπόλλυσιν γυνὴ κακοποιός [4]A huswifely woman is a crowne vnto her husbande: but she that behaueth her selfe vnhonestly, is as corruption in his bones
[5]λογισμοὶ δικαίων κρίματα κυβερνῶσιν δὲ ἀσεβεῖς δόλους [5]The thoughtes of the ryghteous are ryght: but the imaginations of the vngodly are deceptfull
[6]λόγοι ἀσεβῶν δόλιοι στόμα δὲ ὀρθῶν ῥύσεται αὐτούς [6]The talkyng of the vngodly is howe they may lay wayte for blood: but the mouth of the righteous will deliuer the
[7]οὗ ἐὰν στραφῇ ἀσεβὴς ἀφανίζεται οἶκοι δὲ δικαίων παραμένουσιν [7]God ouerturneth the [estate of the] wicked, and they stande not: but the house of the ryghteous shall stande
[8]στόμα συνετοῦ ἐγκωμιάζεται ὑπὸ ἀνδρός νωθροκάρδιος δὲ μυκτηρίζεται [8]A man shalbe commended for his wisdome: but a foole shalbe dispised
[9]κρείσσων ἀνὴρ ἐν ἀτιμίᾳ δουλεύων ἑαυτῷ ἢ τιμὴν ἑαυτῷ περιτιθεὶς καὶ προσδεόμενος ἄρτου [9]He that is dispised and is yet his owne man, is better then the glorious that lacketh bread
[10]δίκαιος οἰκτίρει ψυχὰς κτηνῶν αὐτοῦ τὰ δὲ σπλάγχνα τῶν ἀσεβῶν ἀνελεήμονα [10]A ryghteous man regardeth the lyfe of his cattell: but the vngodly haue cruell heartes
