[1]A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold. [1]ܡܝܲܬܲܪ ܗ̄ܘܼ ܫܡܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܥܘܼܬ̣ܪܵܐ ܣܲܓ̇ܝܼܐܵܐ. ܘܛܵܒ̣ܵܐ ܡܪܲܚܡܵܢܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܕܲܗܒ̣ܵܐ ܘܡ̣ܢ ܣܹܐܡܵܐ.
[2]The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all. [2]ܥܲܬ̇ܝܼܪܵܐ ܘܡܸܣܟܹ̇ܢܵܐ ܦܓܲܥ̣ܘ ܚܲܕ݂ ܒܚܲܕ݂. ܘܠܲܬ̣ܪ̈ܲܝܗܘܿܢ ܡܵܪܝܵܐ ܥ̣ܒܲܕ݂.
[3]A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. [3]ܥܪܝܼܡܵܐ ܚ̣ܙܵܐ ܒܝܼܫܵܐ ܕܡܸܬ̣ܢܲܓܲܕ݂: ܘܥܲܫܝܼܢܵܐܝܼܬ̣ ܐܸܬ̣ܪ̱ܕ݂ܝܼ. ܣܲܟ݂̈ܠܹܐ ܕܹܝܢ ܥ̣ܒܲܪܘ ܥܠܵܘܗܝ: ܘܲܚܣܲܪܘ.
[4]By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honor, and life. [4]ܥܸܩܒܹ̈ܝܗ̇ ܕܡܲܟ̇ܝܼܟ݂ܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܕܸܚ̱ܠܬܹܗ ܕܡܵܪܝܵܐ: ܘܥܘܼܬ̣ܪܵܐ: ܘܐܝܼܩܵܪܵܐ: ܘܚܲܝܹ̈ܐ.
[5]Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them. [5]ܢܸܫ̈ܒܹ̇ܐ ܘܦܲܚܹ̈ܐ ܒܐܘܼܪܚܵܐ ܥܣܲܩܬ̣ܵܐ. ܘܡ̇ܢ ܕܢܵܛܲܪ ܢܲܦ̮ܫܹܗ: ܢܸܬ̣ܪܲܚܲܩ ܡܸܢܗܘܿܢ.
[6]Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. [6]ܕܡܲܟܸ̇ܣ ܠܛܲܠܝܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܦܘܼܡܵܗ̇ ܕܐܘܼܪܚܵܐ: ܐܵܦ ܐܸܢ ܢܸܩܲܫ: ܠܵܐ ܢܸܣܛܹܐ ܡܸܢܵܗ̇.
[7]The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. [7]ܥܲܬ̇ܝܼܪܵܐ ܢܸܫܬܲܠܲܛ ܒܹܗ ܡܸܣܟܹ̇ܢܵܐ. ܘܥܲܒ̣ܕܵܐ ܢܵܘܙܸܦ ܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܡܵܘܙܸܦ ܗ̄ܘܼܵܐ ܠܹܗ.
[8]He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail. [8]ܕܙܵܪܲܥ ܥܵܘܼܠܵܐ: ܢܸܚܨܘܿܕ݂ ܥܸܬܵܐ. ܘܫܲܒ̣ܛܵܐ ܕܐܲܟ̇ܬܹܗ ܢܸܓ̣ܡܘܿܪ.
[9]He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor. [9]ܡ̇ܢ ܕܛܵܒ̣ܵܐ ܥܲܝܢܹܗ: ܗ̤ܘ ܢܸܬ̣ܒܲܪܲܟ݂. ܡܸܛܠ ܕܝܵܗܹ̇ܒ̣ ܡ̣ܢ ܠܲܚܡܹܗ ܠܡܸܣܟܹ̇ܢܵܐ.
[10]Cast out the scorner, and contention shall end; yes, strife and reproach shall cease. [10]ܐܵܘܒܸ̇ܕ݂ ܠܒ̣ܝܼܫܵܐ: ܘܐܲܦܸܩ ܠܚܸܪܝܵܝܵܐ: ܘܒܲܛܸܠ ܕܝܼܢܵܐ ܘܨܲܥܪܵܐ. ܕܠܵܐ ܐܸܢ ܢܸܬܸ̇ܒ̣ ܒܲܟ݂ܢܘܼܫܬܵܐ: ܠܟ݂ܠܗܘܿܢ ܢܨܲܥܲܪ.
[11]He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend. [11]ܪܵܚܹ̇ܡ ܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ ܠܐܲܝܢܵܐ ܕܲܕ݂ܟ݂ܐ ܒܠܸܒܹ̇ܗ. ܘܲܡܪܲܚܸܡ ܥܲܠ ܣܸܦ̈ܘܵܬ̣ܵܐ ܕܪ̈ܵܚܡܵܘܗܝ ܕܡܲܠܟܵܐ.
[12]The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor. [12]ܥܲܝܢܵܘ̈ܗܝ ܕܡܵܪܝܵܐ ܢܵܛ̇ܪܵܢ ܝܼܕܲܥܬ̣ܵܐ. ܘܡܵܘ̈ܒ̇ܕ݂ܵܢ ܡܸܠܹ̈ܐ ܕܲܓܵܠܵـ̈ـܬ̣ܵܐ.
[13]The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets. [13]ܐܵܡܲܪ ܚܒܸܢܵܢܵܐ ܡܵܐ ܕܡܸܫܬܲܕܲܪ: ܐܲܪܝܵܐ ܒܐܘܼܪܚܵܐ: ܘܗܵܐ ܩܸܛܠܵܐ ܒܫܘܼܩܹ̈ܐ.
[14]The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred by the LORD shall fall therein. [14]ܓܘܼܡܵܨܵܐ ܥܲܡܝܼܩܵܐ ܦܘܼܡܵܗ̇ ܕܢܘܼܟ݂ܪܵܝܬܵܐ. ܘܐܲܝܢܵܐ ܕܪܵܓܹ̇ܙ ܥܠܵܘܗܝ ܡܵܪܝܵܐ: ܢܵܦܹ̇ܠ ܬܲܡܵܢ.
[15]Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. [15]ܫܵܛ̇ܝܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܡܲܦܪ̱ܕܵܐ ܠܸܒܹ̇ܗ ܕܛܲܠܝܵܐ. ܘܫܲܒ̣ܛܵܐ ܕܡܲܪܕ̇ܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܡܲܪܚܸܩ ܡܸܢܹܗ.
[16]He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want. [16]ܕܬ̣ܵܐܲܟ݂ ܠܡܸܣܟܹ̇ܢܵܐ ܡܲܣܓܹ̇ܐ ܒܝܼܫܬܹ̇ܗ: ܘܲܕ݂ܝܵܗܹ̇ܒ̣ ܠܥܲܬ̇ܝܼܪܵܐ: ܚܘܼܣܪܵܢܵܐ ܗ̄ܘܼ ܠܢܲܦ̮ܫܹܗ.
[17]Bow down thy ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thy heart to my knowledge. [17]ܐܲܪܟܸ̇ܢ ܐܸܕ݂ܢܵܟ݂: ܘܲܫܡܲܥ ܡܸܠܹ̈ܐ ܕܚܲܟ̇ܝܼܡܹ̈ܐ. ܘܣܝܼܡ ܠܸܒܵܟ݂ ܠܝܼܕܲܥܬ̣ܝ.
[18]For it is a pleasant thing if thou keepest them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips. [18]ܡܸܛܠ ܕܒܲܣܝܼ̈ܡܵܢ ܐܸܢܹܝܢ: ܛܲܪ ܐܹܢܹܝܢ ܒܟܲܪܣܵܟ݂. ܘܢܸܬ̣ܩ̈ܢܵܢ ܐܲܟ݂ܚ̄ܕ݂ܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܣܸܦ̈ܘܵܬ̣ܵܟ݂.
[19]That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee. [19]ܕܢܸܗܘܹܐ ܬܘܼܟ݂ܠܵܢܵܟ݂ ܥܲܠ ܡܵܪܝܵܐ: ܐܵܘܕܲܥ̇ܬܵܟ݂ ܝܵܘܡܵܢܵܐ.
[20]Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, [20]ܘܗܵܐ ܟܸܬ̣ܒܹ̇ܬ̣ ܐܸܢܹܝܢ ܠܵܟ݂ ܥܲܠ ܬܠܵܬ̣ ܙܲܒ̣ܢ̈ܝܼܢ.
[21]That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send to thee? [21]ܕܐܵܘܕ̇ܥܵܟ݂ ܡܸܠܟܵܐ ܘܝܼܕܲܥܬ̣ܵܐ: ܘܫܸܠܝܵܐ ܘܡܸܠܹ̈ܐ ܕܩܘܼܫܬܵܐ. ܕܬܲܗܦܸܟ݂ ܡܸܠܬ̣ܵܐ ܕܩܘܼܫܬܵܐ ܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܫܲܕ̇ܪܵܟ݂.
[22]Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate: [22]ܠܵܐ ܬܸܬ̇ܘܿܟ݂ ܠܡܸܣܟܹ̇ܢܵܐ ܡܸܛܠ ܕܡܸܣܟܹ̇ܝܢ ܗ̄ܘܼ. ܘܠܵܐ ܬܡܲܟܸ̇ܟ݂ ܠܒ̣ܵܝ̇ܫܵܐ ܒܬܲܪܥܵܐ.
[23]For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them. [23]ܡܸܛܠ ܕܡܵܪܝܵܐ ܕܵܐܹ̇ܢ ܕܝܼܢܗܘܿܢ. ܘܡܸܬ̣ܦܪܲܥ ܥܘܼܠܒܵܢܵܐ ܕܢܲܦ̮ܫܗܘܿܢ.
[24]Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: [24]ܠܵܐ ܬܸܗܘܹܐ ܪܵܚ̇ܡܵܐ ܠܓܲܒ̣ܪܵܐ ܚܸܡܬ̣ܵܢܵܐ. ܘܥܲܡ ܓܲܒ̣ܪܵܐ ܕܲܡܠܹܐ ܪܘܼܓ̣ܙܵܐ ܠܵܐ ܬܸܥܘܿܠ.
[25]Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul. [25]ܕܠܵܐ ܬܹܐܠܲܦ ܡ̣ܢ ܢܵܡܘܿܣܵܘ̈ܗܝ. ܘܬܸܫܟܲܚ ܬܘܼܩ̱ܠܬ̣ܵܐ ܠܢܲܦ̮ܫܵܟ݂.
[26]Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts. [26]ܠܵܐ ܬܸܬܸ̇ܠ ܢܲܦ̮ܫܵܟ݂ ܠܥܲܪܵܒ̣ܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ: ܒܲܕ݂ܒܵܗܹ̇ܬ̣ ܐܲܢ̄ܬ̇ ܡ̣ܢ ܦܲܪ̈ܨܘܿܦܵܐ.
[27]If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee? [27]ܐܸܢ ܠܲܝܬ̇ ܠܵܟ݂ ܓܹܝܪ ܡ̣ܢ ܐܲܬܲܪ ܕܬܸܦܪܘܿܥ: ܢܵܣ̇ܒ̇ܝܼܢ ܬܸܫܘܝܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܬܚܘܿܬܲܝܟ.
[28]Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. [28]ܠܵܐ ܬܫܲܢܸܐ ܬܚܘܼܡܵܐ ܕܡ̣ܢ ܥܵܠܲܡ: ܕܬܲܚܸܡ̣ܘ ܐܲܒ̣ܵܗܲܝ̈ܟ.
[29]Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. [29]ܐܸܢ ܚܸܙܲܝܬ̇ ܓܲܒ̣ܪܵܐ ܕܲܡܗܝܼܪ ܒܲܥܒ̣ܵܕܹ̇ܗ: ܩܕ݂ܵܡ ܡܲܠܟܹ̈ܐ ܢܩܘܼܡ. ܘܠܵܐ ܢܩܘܼܢ ܩܕ݂ܵܡ ܚܲܫܝܼ̈ܟܹܐ.
