KJV+
Young's Literal Translation
YLT
[1]My sonH1121, keepH8104[H8798] my wordsH561, and lay upH6845[H8799] my commandments with theeH4687. [1]My son! keep my sayings, And my commands lay up with thee.
[2]KeepH8104[H8798] my commandmentsH4687, and liveH2421[H8798]; and my lawH8451 as the appleH380 of thine eyeH5869. [2]Keep my commands, and live, And my law as the pupil of thine eye.
[3]BindH7194[H8798] them upon thy fingersH676, writeH3789[H8798] them upon the tableH3871 of thine heartH3820. [3]Bind them on thy fingers, Write them on the tablet of thy heart.
[4]SayH559[H8798] unto wisdomH2451, Thou art my sisterH269; and callH7121[H8799] understandingH998 thy kinswomanH4129: [4]Say to wisdom, `My sister Thou [art].' And cry to understanding, `Kinswoman!'
[5]That they may keepH8104[H8800] thee from the strangeH2114[H8801] womanH802, from the strangerH5237 which flatterethH2505[H8689] with her wordsH561. [5]To preserve thee from a strange woman, From a stranger who hath made smooth her sayings.
[6]For at the windowH2474 of my houseH1004 I lookedH8259[H8738] through my casementH822, [6]For, at a window of my house, Through my casement I have looked out,
[7]And beheldH7200[H8799] among the simple onesH6612, I discernedH995[H8799] among the youthsH1121, a young manH5288 voidH2638 of understandingH3820, [7]And I do see among the simple ones, I discern among the sons, A young man lacking understanding,
[8]Passing throughH5674[H8802] the streetH7784 nearH681 her cornerH6434; and he wentH6805[H8799] the wayH1870 to her houseH1004, [8]Passing on in the street, near her corner, And the way [to] her house he doth step,
[9]In the twilightH5399, in the eveningH3117[H6153], in the blackH380 and darkH653 nightH3915: [9]In the twilight -- in the evening of day, In the darkness of night and blackness.
[10]And, behold, there metH7125[H8800] him a womanH802 with the attireH7897 of an harlotH2181[H8802], and subtilH5341[H8803] of heartH3820. [10]And, lo, a woman to meet him -- (A harlot's dress, and watchful of heart,
[11]H1993( She is loudH8802 and stubbornH5637[H8802]; her feetH7272 abideH7931[H8799] not in her houseH1004: [11]Noisy she [is], and stubborn, In her house her feet rest not.
[12]NowH6471 is she withoutH2351, nowH6471 in the streetsH7339, and lieth in waitH693[H8799] atH681 every cornerH6438.) [12]Now in an out-place, now in broad places, And near every corner she lieth in wait) --
[13]So she caughtH2388[H8689] him, and kissedH5401[H8804] him, and with an impudentH5810[H8689] faceH6440 saidH559 unto himH8799, [13]And she laid hold on him, and kissed him, She hath hardened her face, and saith to him,
[14]I have peaceH8002 offeringsH2077 with me; this dayH3117 have I payedH7999[H8765] my vowsH5088. [14]`Sacrifices of peace-offerings [are] by me, To-day I have completed my vows.
[15]Therefore came I forthH3318[H8804] to meetH7125[H8800] thee, diligently to seekH7836[H8763] thy faceH6440, and I have foundH4672 theeH8799. [15]Therefore I have come forth to meet thee, To seek earnestly thy face, and I find thee.
[16]I have deckedH7234[H8804] my bedH6210 with coveringsH4765 of tapestry, with carvedH2405 works, with fine linenH330 of EgyptH4714. [16][With] ornamental coverings I decked my couch, Carved works -- cotton of Egypt.
[17]I have perfumedH5130[H8804] my bedH4904 with myrrhH4753, aloesH174, and cinnamonH7076. [17]I sprinkled my bed -- myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
[18]ComeH3212[H8798], let us take our fillH7301[H8799] of loveH1730 until the morningH1242: let us solaceH5965[H8691] ourselves with lovesH159. [18]Come, we are filled [with] loves till the morning, We delight ourselves in loves.
[19]For the goodmanH376 is not at homeH1004, he is goneH1980[H8804] a longH7350 journeyH1870: [19]For the man is not in his house, He hath gone on a long journey.
[20]He hath takenH3947[H8804] a bagH6872 of moneyH3701 with himH3027, and will comeH935[H8799] homeH1004 at the dayH3117 appointedH3677. [20]A bag of money he hath taken in his hand, At the day of the new moon he cometh to his house.'
[21]With her muchH7230 fair speechH3948 she caused him to yieldH5186[H8689], with the flatteringH2506 of her lipsH8193 she forcedH5080 himH8686. [21]She turneth him aside with the abundance of her speech, With the flattery of her lips she forceth him.
[22]He goethH1980[H8802] afterH310 her straightwayH6597, as an oxH7794 goethH935[H8799] to the slaughterH2874, or as a foolH191 to the correctionH4148 of the stocksH5914; [22]He is going after her straightway, As an ox unto the slaughter he cometh, And as a fetter unto the chastisement of a fool,
[23]Till a dartH2671 strikeH6398[H8762] through his liverH3516; as a birdH6833 hastethH4116[H8763] to the snareH6341, and knowethH3045[H8804] not that it is for his lifeH5315. [23]Till an arrow doth split his liver, As a bird hath hastened unto a snare, And hath not known that it [is] for its life.
[24]HearkenH8085[H8798] unto me now therefore, O ye childrenH1121, and attendH7181[H8685] to the wordsH561 of my mouthH6310. [24]And now, ye sons, hearken to me, And give attention to sayings of my mouth.
[25]Let not thine heartH3820 declineH7847[H8799] to her waysH1870, go not astrayH8582[H8799] in her pathsH5410. [25]Let not thy heart turn unto her ways, Do not wander in her paths,
[26]For she hath cast downH5307[H8689] manyH7227 woundedH2491: yea, many strongH6099 men have been slainH2026 by herH8803. [26]For many [are] the wounded she caused to fall, And mighty [are] all her slain ones.
[27]Her houseH1004 is the wayH1870 to hellH7585, going downH3381[H8802] to the chambersH2315 of deathH4194. [27]The ways of Sheol -- her house, Going down unto inner chambers of death!
