[1]Sing, ye righteous, in Jehovah, For upright ones praise [is] comely. |
[1]Reioyce in God O ye righteous: for prayse becommeth well the iust |
[2]Give ye thanks to Jehovah with a harp, With psaltery of ten strings sing praise to Him, |
[2]Confesse [it] to god with the harpe: sing psalmes vnto hym with the viall, and with the instrument of ten stringes |
[3]Sing ye to Him a new song, Play skilfully with shouting. |
[3]Sing vnto him a new song: do it cunningly, make a sweete noyse with your musicall instrumentes alowde |
[4]For upright [is] the word of Jehovah, And all His work [is] in faithfulness. |
[4]For the word of God is right: and euery worke of his done in fayth |
[5]Loving righteousness and judgment, Of the kindness of Jehovah is the earth full. |
[5]He loueth righteousnes & iudgement: the earth is ful of the goodnes of God |
[6]By the word of Jehovah The heavens have been made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host. |
[6]By the worde of God are the heauens made: and all the hoastes of them by the breath of his mouth |
[7]Gathering as a heap the waters of the sea, Putting in treasuries the depths. |
[7]He gathereth the waters of the sea together as it were vpon an heape: and layeth vp the deepe as treasures |
[8]Afraid of Jehovah are all the earth, Of Him are all the inhabitants of the world afraid. |
[8]Let all the earth feare God: let all they that dwell in the worlde stande in awe of him |
[9]For He hath said, and it is, He hath commanded, and it standeth. |
[9]For he spake and it was: he commauded, and it was brought to passe |
[10]Jehovah made void the counsel of nations, He disallowed the thoughts of the peoples. |
[10]God bringeth the counsell of the Heathen to naught: and maketh the deuises of the people to be of none effect |
[11]The counsel of Jehovah to the age standeth, The thoughts of His heart to all generations. |
[11]The counsayle of God shall endure for euer: and the thoughtes of his heart from generation to generation |
[12]O the happiness of the nation whose God [is] Jehovah, Of the people He did choose, For an inheritance to Him. |
[12]Blessed is the nation that hath God to be their Lorde: that people hath he chosen to be an inheritaunce for him |
[13]From the heavens hath Jehovah looked, He hath seen all the sons of men. |
[13](33:13a) God looketh downe from heauen, and beholdeth all the chyldren of me |
[14]From the fixed place of His dwelling, He looked unto all inhabitants of the earth; |
[14](33:13b) from the place where he resteth: he eyeth diligently euery dweller on the earth |
[15]Who is forming their hearts together, Who is attending unto all their works. |
[15](33:14) He fashioneth their heartes together: he vnderstandeth al their workes |
[16]The king is not saved by the multitude of a force. A mighty man is not delivered, By abundance of power. |
[16](33:15) A king is not saued by the multitude of an hoast: a man of great myght escapeth not by much strength |
[17]A false thing [is] the horse for safety, And by the abundance of his strength He doth not deliver. |
[17](33:16) A horse for to saue is vanitie: and he can deliuer none by his great strength |
[18]Lo, the eye of Jehovah [is] to those fearing Him, To those waiting for His kindness, |
[18](33:17) Beholde, the eye of God is vpon them that feare hym: and vpon them that wayteth after his mercy |
[19]To deliver from death their soul, And to keep them alive in famine. |
[19](33:18) To deliuer their soules from death: and to preserue their liues in dearth |
[20]Our soul hath waited for Jehovah, Our help and our shield [is] He, |
[20](33:19) Our soule wayteth after God: he is our ayde and shielde |
[21]For in Him doth our heart rejoice, For in His holy name we have trusted. |
[21](33:20) For our heart shall reioyce in him: because we haue put our trust in his holy name |
[22]Let Thy kindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, As we have waited for Thee! |
[22](33:21) Let thy louing kindnes O God be vppon vs: like as we haue put our trust in thee |
