[[To him that excelleth upon Nehiloth.] A Psalm Chapter of David.]
[1]To the Overseer, `Concerning the Inheritances.' -- A Psalm of David. My sayings hear, O Jehovah, Consider my meditation. [1]Hear my words, O Lord: understand my meditation.
[2]Be attentive to the voice of my cry, My king and my God, For unto Thee I pray habitually. [2]Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King and my God: for unto thee do I pray.
[3]Jehovah, [at] morning Thou hearest my voice, [At] morning I set in array for Thee, And I look out. [3]Hear my voice in the morning, O Lord : for in the morning will I direct me unto thee, and I will wait.
[4]For not a God desiring wickedness [art] Thou, Evil inhabiteth Thee not. [4]For thou art not a God that loveth wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
[5]The boastful station not themselves before Thine eyes: Thou hast hated all working iniquity. [5]The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: for thou hatest all them that work iniquity.
[6]Thou destroyest those speaking lies, A man of blood and deceit Jehovah doth abominate. [6]Thou shalt destroy them that speak lies: the Lord will abhor the bloody man and deceitful.
[7]And I, in the abundance of Thy kindness, I enter Thy house, I bow myself toward Thy holy temple in Thy fear. [7]But I will come into thine house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thine holy temple.
[8]O Jehovah, lead me in Thy righteousness, Because of those observing me, Make straight before me Thy way, [8]Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness, because of mine enemies: make thy way plain before my face.
[9]For there is no stability in their mouth. Their heart [is] mischiefs, An open grave [is] their throat, Their tongue they make smooth. [9]For no constancy is in their mouth: within, they are very corruption: their throat is an open sepulcher, and they flatter with their tongue.
[10]Declare them guilty, O God, Let them fall from their own counsels, In the abundance of their transgressions Drive them away, Because they have rebelled against Thee. [10]Destroy them, O God: let them fall from their counsels: cast them out for the multitude of their iniquities, because they have rebelled against thee.
[11]And rejoice do all trusting in Thee, To the age they sing, and Thou coverest them over, And those loving Thy name exult in Thee. [11]And let all them that trust in thee, rejoice and triumph forever, and cover thou them: and let them, that love thy name, rejoice in thee.
[12]For Thou blessest the righteous, O Jehovah, As a buckler with favour dost compass him! [12]For thou Lord wilt bless the righteous, and with favor wilt compass him, as with a shield.
