[1]What preferment then hath ye Iew? or what auauntageth circumcision [1]What then is the excellence of the Jihudoya, and what the profit of circumcision?
[2]Much euery way. First, for because yt vnto them were committed ye wordes of God [2]Much in every thing: primarily that they had intrusted [to them] the words of Aloha.
[3]What then though some of them dyd not beleue? Shal their vnbeliefe make the fayth of God without effect [3]For if some of them believed not, would their unbelief abolish the faithfulness of Aloha?
[4]God forbyd. Yea let God be true, and euery man a lyer, as it is writte: That thou myghtest be iustified in thy sayinges, and ouercome when thou art iudged [4]Not so: for Aloha is true, and every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mayest be just in thy words, and triumph when they judge thee.
[5]But yf our vnrighteousnes setteth foorth the righteousnes of God, what shall we saye? Is God vnryghteous which taketh vengeaunce? I speake after the maner of men [5]But if our iniquity the righteousness of Aloha establisheth, what shall we say? Is Aloha evil, who bringeth his wrath? As a man do I speak.
[6]God forbyd. For howe then shall God iudge the worlde [6]Not so; otherwise how shall Aloha judge the world?
[7]For yf the trueth of God hath more abounded through my lye, vnto his glory, why am I as yet iudged as a sinner [7]For if the truth of Aloha is promoted by my lie unto his glory, why then am I judged as a sinner?
[8]And not rather (as men speake euyll of vs, and as some affirme that we say) let vs do euyll, that good may come therof? Whose dampnation is iuste [8]Or why, as certain blaspheme concerning us, affirming that we say, Let us do evil, that good may come? they, whose condemnation is reserved by justice.
[9]What then? Are we better [then they?] No, in no wise. For we haue alredy proued, howe that both Iewes and Gentiles are all vnder sinne [9]What then, have we attained excellence? [No.] For before we decided of the Jihudoyee and of the Aramoyee that they are all under sin;
[10]As it is written: There is none righteous, no not one [10]As it is written, None is righteous, not one.
[11]There is none that vnderstandeth, there is none that seketh after God [11]None understandeth or seeketh Aloha.
[12]They are all gone out of the waye, they are all vnprofitable, there is none that doth good, no not one [12]All have declined together and are reprobate, and there is none that doeth good, not one.
[13]Their throte is an open sepulchre, with their tongues they haue deceaued, the poyso of aspes is vnder their lippes [13]Open sepulchres are their throats, their tongues have deceived, and the venom of asps is under their lips.
[14]Whose mouth is full of cursyng and bytternesse [14]Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness,
[15]Their feete are swyft to shed blood [15]And their feet are swift to shed blood.
[16]Heartes griefe & miserie are in their wayes [16]Crushing and misery are in their ways;
[17]And they way of peace haue they not knowen [17]And the way of peace they have not known;
[18]There is no feare of God before their eyes [18]And the fear of Aloha is not before their eyes.
[19]Nowe we knowe that what thynges so euer the lawe saith, it saith it to them which are vnder the lawe: That all mouthes maye be stopped, and that al ye world may be indaungered to God [19]BUT we know that whatever the law saith, to them who are under the law it saith: that every mouth may be shut, and all the world be guilty unto Aloha.
[20]Because that by the deedes of the lawe, there shall no flesshe be iustified in his syght. For by the lawe, commeth the knowledge of sinne [20]Because by the works of the law no flesh is justified before him; for from the law sin is known.
[21]But nowe is the righteousnes of God declared without the lawe, beyng witnessed by the testimonie of the lawe and of the prophetes [21]But now, without the law the righteousness of Aloha is revealed, and the law and the prophets [themselves] testify of it.
[22]The ryghteousnes of God [commeth] by the fayth of Iesus Christe, vnto all and vpon all them that beleue. There is no difference [22]But the righteousness of Aloha is by faith of Jeshu Meshiha, unto all and also upon all who believe in him. For there is no distinction:
[23]For all haue synned, and are destitute of the glorie of God [23]For all have sinned, and have failed of the glory of Aloha;
[24]Iustified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christe Iesu [24]And all are justified by grace freely, and [that] through the redemption which is in Jeshu Meshiha,
[25]Whom God hath set foorth to be a propitiatio, through fayth in his blood, to declare his ryghteousnes, in that he forgeueth the sinnes that are past [25]Whom Aloha before ordained [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood for our sins which from the first we had sinned,
[26]Which God dyd suffer, to shew at this tyme his righteousnes, that he might be iuste, & the iustifier of hym which beleueth on Iesus [26]Within the space which Aloha hath given to us in his patience, unto the manifestation of his righteousness which [is] in this time: that he might be just, and might justify in righteousness him who is in the faith of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.
[27]Where is then thy boastyng? It is excluded. By what lawe? Of workes? Nay, but by the lawe of fayth [27]Where, then, is boasting? It is abolished. By what law? of works? No, but by the law of faith.
[28]Therfore, we holde that a man is iustified by fayth, without the deedes of the lawe [28]We comprehend, therefore, that by faith man is justified, and not by the works of the law.
[29]Is he the God of the Iewes only? Is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, euen of the Gentiles also [29]Is Aloha of the Jihudoyee only, and not of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also.
[30]For it is one God whiche shall iustifie the circumcision by fayth, and vncircumcision through fayth [30]Because one is Aloha, who justifieth the circumcision by faith, also the uncircumcision by the same faith.
[31]Do we then destroy the lawe through fayth? God forbyd: But we rather mayntayne the lawe [31]Do we therefore the law abolish by faith? Not so, but the law itself we establish.
