| [1]מנא הכיל נאמר נקוא בה בחטיתא דטיבותא תתיתר |
[1]What shall we say then? Shall we continue still in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. |
| [2]חס אילינ גיר דמיתנ לחטיתא איכנא נחא בה תוב |
[2]How shall we, that are dead to sin, live yet therein? |
| [3]או לא ידעינ אנתונ דאילינ דעמדנ בישׁוע משׁיחא במותה הו עמדנ |
[3]Know ye not, that all we which have been baptized into Jesus Christ, have been baptized into his death? |
| [4]אתקברנ עמה במעמודיתא למותא דאיכנא דקמ ישׁוע משׁיחא מנ בית מיתא בתשׁבוחתא דאבוהי הכנא אפ חננ בחיא חדתא נהלכ |
[4]We are buried then with him by baptism into his death, that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also should walk in newness of life. |
| [5]אנ גיר אכחד אתנצבנ עמה בדמותא דמותה הכנא אפ בקימתה נהוא |
[5]For if we be grafted with him to the similitude of his death, even so shall we be to the similitude of his resurrection, |
| [6]ידעינ חננ גיר דברנשׁנ עתיקא אזדקפ עמה דנתבטל פגרא דחטיתא תוב לא נשׁמשׁ לחטיתא |
[6]Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. |
| [7]אינא דמית גיר אתחרר לה מנ חטיתא |
[7]For he that is dead, is freed from sin. |
| [8]אנ הכיל מיתנ עמ משׁיחא נהימנ דעמה עמ משׁיחא נחא |
[8]Wherefore, if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall live also with him, |
| [9]ידעינ חננ גיר דמשׁיחא קמ מנ בית מיתא ותוב לא מאת ומותא לא משׁתלט בה |
[9]Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead, dieth no more: death hath no more dominion over him. |
| [10]דמית גיר לחטיתא הו מית חדא זבנ ודחי חי הו לאלהא |
[10]For in that he died, he died once to sin: but in that he liveth, he liveth to God. |
| [11]הכנא אפ אנתונ חשׁובו נפשׁכונ דמיתא אנתונ לחטיתא וחיא אנתונ לאלהא במרנ ישׁוע משׁיחא |
[11]Likewise think ye also, that ye are dead to sin, but are alive to God in Jesus Christ our Lord. |
| [12]לא הכיל תמלכ חטיתא בפגרכונ מיתא איכ דתשׁתמעונ לרגיגתה |
[12]Let not sin reign therefore in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. |
| [13]ואפ לא תטיבונ הדמיכונ זינא דעולא לחטיתא אלא טיבו נפשׁכונ לאלהא איכ אנשׁא דמנ מיתא חייתונ והדמיכונ זינא נהוונ לכאנותה דאלהא |
[13]Neither give ye your members as weapons of unrighteousness unto sin: but give your selves unto God, as they that are alive from the dead, and give your members as weapons of righteousness unto God. |
| [14]וחטיתא לא משׁתלטא עליכונ לא גיר איתיכונ תחית נמוסא אלא תחית טיבותא |
[14]For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the Law, but under grace. |
| [15]מנא הכיל נחטא דלא הוינ תחית נמוסא אלא תחית טיבותא חס |
[15]What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the Law, but under grace? God forbid. |
| [16]לא ידעינ אנתונ דלמנ דמטיבינ אנתונ נפשׁכונ דתשׁתמעונ לה לעבדותא דילה אנתונ עבדא דהו דמשׁתמעינ אנתונ לה אנ לחטיתא ואנ למשׁמע אדנא דכאנותא |
[16]Know ye not, that to whomsoever ye give your selves as servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey, whether it be of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? |
| [17]טיבו דינ לאלהא דעבדא הויתונ דחטיתא ואשׁתמעתונ מנ לבא לדמותא דיולפנא דאשׁתלמתונ לה |
[17]But God be thanked, that ye have been the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart unto the form of the doctrine, whereunto ye were delivered. |
| [18]וכד אתחררתונ מנ חטיתא אשׁתעבדתונ לכאנותא |
[18]Being then made free from sin, ye are made the servants of righteousness. |
| [19]איכ דבית בני אנשׁא אמר אנא מטל כריהותא דבסרכונ דאיכנא דטיבתונ הדמיכונ לעבדותא דטנפותא ודעולא הכנא אפ השׁא טיבו הדמיכונ לעבדותא דכאנותא ודקדישׁותא |
[19]I speak after the manner of man, because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have given your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity, to commit iniquity, so now give your members servants unto righteousness in holiness. |
| [20]כד עבדא הויתונ גיר דחטיתא מחררא הויתונ לכאנותא |
[20]For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were freed from righteousness. |
| [21]ומנא אדשׁא אית הוא לכונ הידינ אינא דיומנא בהתינ אנתונ בה חרתה גיר איתיה מותא |
[21]What fruit had ye then in those things, whereof ye are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. |
| [22]והשׁא דאתחררתונ מנ חטיתא והויתונ עבדא לאלהא אית לכונ פארא קדישׁא דחרתהונ חיא דלעלמ |
[22]But now being freed from sin, and made servants unto God, ye have your fruit in holiness, and the end, everlasting life. |
| [23]תאגורתא דינ דחטיתא מותא הו ומוהבתה דאלהא חיא דלעלמ במרנ ישׁוע משׁיחא |
[23]For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. |
