| [1]But speak thou the things which become wholesome doctrine, |
[1]אנת דינ מלל מדמ דיאא ליולפנא חלימא |
| [2]That the elder men be sober, honest, discrete, sound in the faith, in love, and in patience: |
[2]ואלפ דנהוונ קשׁישׁא עירינ ברעיניהונ ונהוונ נכפינ ונהוונ דכינ ונהוונ חלימינ בהימנותא ובחובא ובמסיברנותא |
| [3]The elder women likewise, that they be in such behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, but teachers of honest things, |
[3]ואפ קשׁישׁתא הכנא דנהוינ באסכמא דיאא לדחלת אלהא ולא נהוינ אכלנ קרצא ולא נהוינ משׁעבדנ לחמרא סגיאא ונהוינ מלפנ שׁפירתא |
| [4]That they may instruct the young women to be sober minded, that they love their husbands, that they love their children, |
[4]ומנכפנ לאילינ דטלינ דנרחמנ בעליהינ ובניהינ |
| [5]That they be discrete, chaste, keeping at home, good and subject unto their husbands, that the word of God be not evil spoken of. |
[5]ונהוינ נכפנ וקדישׁנ ונהוינ יצפנ שׁפיר דבתיהינ ומשׁתעבדנ לבעליהינ דלא אנשׁ נגדפ על מלתה דאלהא |
| [6]Exhort young men likewise, that they be sober minded. |
[6]ומנ אילינ דטלינ הכנא בעי דנהוונ נכפינ |
| [7]Above all things show thyself an ensample of good works with uncorrupt doctrine, with gravity, integrity, |
[7]בכלמדמ דינ דמותא בנפשׁכ חוא בכל עבדא טבא ובמלפנותכ תהוא לכ מלתא חלימתא |
| [8]And with the wholesome word, which cannot be reproved, that he which withstandeth, may be ashamed, having nothing concerning you to speak evil of. |
[8]דנכפא ולא מחבלא ולא אנשׁ בסר לה דאינא דקאמ לקובלנ נבהת כד לא נשׁכח דנאמר עלינ מדמ דסנא |
| [9]Let servants be subject to their masters, and please them in all things, not answering again, |
[9]עבדא למריהונ נשׁתעבדונ בכלמדמ ונשׁתפרונ ולא הוו מעצינ |
| [10]Neither pickers, but that they show all good faithfulness, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things. |
[10]ולא הוו גנבינ אלא נחוונ שׁררהונ טבא בכלמדמ דנצבתונ בכלמדמ יולפנה דאלהא מחיננ |
| [11]For the grace of God, that bringeth salvation unto all men, hath appeared, |
[11]אתגלית גיר טיבותה דאלהא מחית כל לבנינשׁא כלהונ |
| [12]And teacheth us that we should deny ungodliness, and worldly lusts, and that we should live soberly and righteously, and godly in this present world, |
[12]ורדיא לנ דנכפור ברושׁעא וברגיגתא דעלמא ונחא בעלמא הנא בנכפותא ובכאנותא ובדחלת אלהא |
| [13]Looking for the blessed hope, and appearing of the glory of the mighty God, and of our Savior Jesus Christ, |
[13]כד מסכיננ לסברא בריכא ולגלינא דתשׁבוחתה דאלהא רבא ומחיננ ישׁוע משׁיחא |
| [14]Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purge us to be a peculiar people unto himself, zealous of good works. |
[14]דהו יהב נפשׁה חלפינ דנפרקנ מנ כל עולא ונדכינ לנפשׁה עמא חדתא דחסמ בעבדא טבא |
| [15]These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. See that no man despise thee. |
[15]הלינ מלל ובעי וכונ בכל פוקדנ ולא אנשׁ נבסא בכ |
