PesNT(lit)
Peshitta NT (Etheridge, 1849)
PesNT(Eth)
[1]You but speak what is fitting for teaching sound [1]But speak thou that which becometh sound doctrine,
[2]And teach that should be elders watchful in their minds and to be modest and to be pure and to be sound in faith and in love and in patience [2]And teach, That the elders be watchful in their minds, and be chaste and pure, and sound in the faith, and in charity, and in patience.
[3]And also elder women in this way to be in appearance fitting for the worship of Alaha and not to be slanderers neither to be subservient to wine much and to be teachers of excellence [3]And so also the aged women, that they be in behaviour what becometh the fear of Aloha, and not slanderers, nor enslaved to much wine, and that they teach good things;
[4]And chasten those who are young women to love their husbands and their children [4]Making those who are young modest, to love their husbands and their children,
[5]And to be chaste and holy and to be taking caring good of their households and obeying their husbands lest anyone blaspheme against the word of Alaha [5]And to be chaste and holy, well mindful of their houses, and submissive to their husbands, that no man blaspheme the word of Aloha.
[6]And of those young men in this way beseech to be serious [6]And of those who are young men, likewise, require that they be chaste.
[7]In all things but a model yourself show in all works good and in your teaching let be your speech wholesome [7]But in every thing show thyself the example in all good works, and in doctrine let there be with thee sound speech
[8]That is serious and not corrupt and not a man let despise it that he who stands against us may be ashamed as not he will be able to say against us anything adverse [8]Which is sincere and incorrupt, and which no man will despise, that he who riseth against us may be ashamed when he cannot say any thing hateful against us.
[9]Servants to their masters let be subject in all things and be pleasing and not let them resist [9]Let servants to their masters be submissive in every thing, and please them, not contradicting, nor pilfering;
[10]Neither let them steal but let them show their loyalty good in all things to adorn in all things the doctrine of Alaha our Lifegiver [10]But let them show their good-trustiness in every thing, that they may adorn in every thing the doctrine of Aloha our Saviour.
[11]Has been revealed for the grace of Alaha giving life to all the children of men all of them [11]FOR the all-saving grace of Aloha hath appeared to all men,
[12]And it leads us to reject wickedness and lusts of the world and to live in world this in purity and in righteousness and in the worship of Alaha [12]And teacheth us to deny wickedness and the lusts of the world, and to live in this world in purity, and in rectitude, and in the fear of Aloha,
[13]While we look for the hope blessed and the revelation of the glory of Alaha The Great and our Lifegiver Ieshu The Messiah [13]While expecting the blessed hope and the manifestation of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jeshu Meshiha;
[14]Who gave Himself in our place to redeem us from all evil and to purify for Himself a people new which is zealous of works good [14]Who gave himself for us, to redeem us from all iniquity, and to cleanse unto himself a new people, who are zealous of good works.
[15]These things speak and seek and rebuke with all authority and not a man let despise you [15]These speak, and require, and maintain with all authority, and no man shall despise thee.
