Peshitta (Lamsa, 1933)
Pes(Lam)
[1]καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ ταῦτα καὶ ἐπάταξεν δαυιδ τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους καὶ ἐτροπώσατο αὐτοὺς καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν γεθ καὶ τὰς κώμας αὐτῆς ἐκ χειρὸς ἀλλοφύλων [1]AND after these things it came to pass that David smote the Philistines and destroyed them, and took the power from the hand of the Philistines, and took Gath and the small villages that were round about it out of the hand of the Philistines.
[2]καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὴν μωαβ καὶ ἦσαν μωαβ παῖδες τῷ δαυιδ φέροντες δῶρα [2]And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became David's servants and brought tribute.
[3]καὶ ἐπάταξεν δαυιδ τὸν αδρααζαρ βασιλέα σουβα ημαθ πορευομένου αὐτοῦ ἐπιστῆσαι χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ ποταμὸν εὐφράτην [3]Then David slew Hadarezer the king of Nisibin, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.
[4]καὶ προκατελάβετο δαυιδ αὐτῶν χίλια ἅρματα καὶ ἑπτὰ χιλιάδας ἵππων καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδας ἀνδρῶν πεζῶν καὶ παρέλυσεν δαυιδ πάντα τὰ ἅρματα καὶ ὑπελίπετο ἐξ αὐτῶν ἑκατὸν ἅρματα [4]And David took from him a thousand chariots and seven thousand horsemen, and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them a hundred chariots.
[5]καὶ ἦλθεν σύρος ἐκ δαμασκοῦ βοηθῆσαι αδρααζαρ βασιλεῖ σουβα καὶ ἐπάταξεν δαυιδ ἐν τῷ σύρῳ εἴκοσι καὶ δύο χιλιάδας ἀνδρῶν [5]And when the Edomites and the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Nisibin, David slew of the Edomites twenty-two thousand men.
[6]καὶ ἔθετο δαυιδ φρουρὰν ἐν συρίᾳ τῇ κατὰ δαμασκόν καὶ ἦσαν τῷ δαυιδ εἰς παῖδας φέροντας δῶρα καὶ ἔσῳζεν κύριος τὸν δαυιδ ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐπορεύετο [6]Then David appointed governors in Damascus, and the Arameans became David's servants and brought tribute. Thus the LORD preserved David wheresoever he went.
[7]καὶ ἔλαβεν δαυιδ τοὺς κλοιοὺς τοὺς χρυσοῦς οἳ ἦσαν ἐπὶ τοὺς παῖδας αδρααζαρ καὶ ἤνεγκεν αὐτοὺς εἰς ιερουσαλημ [7]And David took the shields of gold that were hanging on the horses of the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
[8]καὶ ἐκ τῆς μεταβηχας καὶ ἐκ τῶν ἐκλεκτῶν πόλεων τῶν αδρααζαρ ἔλαβεν δαυιδ χαλκὸν πολὺν σφόδρα ἐξ αὐτοῦ ἐποίησεν σαλωμων τὴν θάλασσαν τὴν χαλκῆν καὶ τοὺς στύλους καὶ τὰ σκεύη τὰ χαλκᾶ [8]Likewise from Tibhath and from Berothi, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the bronze sea and the pillars of brass and the oxen of brass and the vessels of brass in abundance
[9]καὶ ἤκουσεν θωα βασιλεὺς ημαθ ὅτι ἐπάταξεν δαυιδ τὴν πᾶσαν δύναμιν αδρααζαρ βασιλέως σουβα [9]Now Pul, king of Hamath, heard that David had smitten the whole army of Hadarezer, king of Nisibin;
[10]καὶ ἀπέστειλεν τὸν ιδουραμ υἱὸν αὐτοῦ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα δαυιδ τοῦ ἐρωτῆσαι αὐτὸν τὰ εἰς εἰρήνην καὶ τοῦ εὐλογῆσαι αὐτὸν ὑπὲρ οὗ ἐπολέμησεν τὸν αδρααζαρ καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτόν ὅτι ἀνὴρ πολέμιος θωα ἦν τῷ αδρααζαρ καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη ἀργυρᾶ καὶ χρυσᾶ [10]And he sent Jehoram his son to David to inquire of his welfare and to congratulate him because he had fought against Hadarezer and killed him (for Hadarezer was a valiant warrior) and Jehoram had with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.
[11]καὶ ταῦτα ἡγίασεν δαυιδ τῷ κυρίῳ μετὰ τοῦ ἀργυρίου καὶ τοῦ χρυσίου οὗ ἔλαβεν ἐκ πάντων τῶν ἐθνῶν ἐξ ιδουμαίας καὶ μωαβ καὶ ἐξ υἱῶν αμμων καὶ ἐκ τῶν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἐξ αμαληκ [11]Some of these also King David dedicated to the LORD, together with the silver and the gold that he had captured from all the nations which he had subdued: from the Edomites, from the Moabites, from the children of Ammon, from the Philistines, and from the Amalekites.
[12]καὶ αβεσσα υἱὸς σαρουια ἐπάταξεν τὴν ιδουμαίαν ἐν κοιλάδι τῶν ἁλῶν ὀκτὼ καὶ δέκα χιλιάδας [12]Moreover Abishai the son of Zuriah brother of Joab slew the Edomites in the valley of salt, eighteen thousand men.
[13]καὶ ἔθετο ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι φρουράς καὶ ἦσαν πάντες οἱ ιδουμαῖοι παῖδες δαυιδ καὶ ἔσῳζεν κύριος τὸν δαυιδ ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐπορεύετο [13]And David appointed governors over the Edomites, and all the Edomites became David's servants. Thus the LORD preserved David wherever he went.
[14]καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν δαυιδ ἐπὶ πάντα ισραηλ καὶ ἦν ποιῶν κρίμα καὶ δικαιοσύνην τῷ παντὶ λαῷ αὐτοῦ [14]So David reigned over all Israel and executed justice and righteousness to all the people.
[15]καὶ ιωαβ υἱὸς σαρουια ἐπὶ τῆς στρατιᾶς καὶ ιωσαφατ υἱὸς αχιλουδ ὑπομνηματογράφος [15]And Joab the son of Zuriah was over all the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder.
[16]καὶ σαδωκ υἱὸς αχιτωβ καὶ αχιμελεχ υἱὸς αβιαθαρ ἱερεῖς καὶ σουσα γραμματεὺς [16]And Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelek the son of Abiathar were the priests; and Seriah was scribe;
[17]καὶ βαναιας υἱὸς ιωδαε ἐπὶ τοῦ χερεθθι καὶ τοῦ φελεθθι καὶ υἱοὶ δαυιδ οἱ πρῶτοι διάδοχοι τοῦ βασιλέως [17]And Benaiah the son of Jehoiadah was over the archers and the slingers; and the sons of David were princes of the realm
