| [1]Dare any of you, when he hath a controversy with his brother, litigate before the iniquitous, and not before the sanctified? |
[1]τολμα τις υμων πραγμα εχων προς τον ετερον κρινεσθαι επι των αδικων και ουχι επι των αγιων |
| [2]Or know ye not, that the sanctified will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are ye unfit to decide trivial causes? |
[2]η ουκ οιδατε οτι οι αγιοι τον κοσμον κρινουσιν και ει εν υμιν κρινεται ο κοσμος αναξιοι εστε κριτηριων ελαχιστων |
| [3]Know ye not, that we shall judge angels? How much more things that are of the world? |
[3]ουκ οιδατε οτι αγγελους κρινουμεν μητι γε βιωτικα |
| [4]But if ye have a controversy about a worldly matter, seat ye on the bench for you those who are contemned in the church ! |
[4]βιωτικα μεν ουν κριτηρια εαν εχητε τους εξουθενημενους εν τη εκκλησια τουτους καθιζετε |
| [5]For shame to you I say [it]. So, there is not even one wise man among you, who is competent to do equity between a brother and his brother: |
[5]προς εντροπην υμιν λεγω ουτως ουκ ενι εν υμιν ουδεις σοφος ος δυνησεται διακριναι ανα μεσον του αδελφου αυτου |
| [6]but a brother litigateth with his brother, and also before them that believe not ! |
[6]αλλα αδελφος μετα αδελφου κρινεται και τουτο επι απιστων |
| [7]Now therefore ye condemn yourselves, in that ye have litigation one with another. For why do ye not rather suffer wrong? why not rather be defrauded? |
[7]ηδη μεν ουν [ουν] ολως ηττημα υμιν εστιν οτι κριματα εχετε μεθ εαυτων δια τι ουχι μαλλον αδικεισθε δια τι ουχι μαλλον αποστερεισθε |
| [8]But ye yourselves commit wrong, and ye defraud even your brethren. |
[8]αλλα υμεις αδικειτε και αποστερειτε και τουτο αδελφους |
| [9]Or do ye not know, that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not mistake; neither whoremongers, nor idol-worshippers, nor adulterers, nor debauchers, nor liers with males, |
[9]η ουκ οιδατε οτι αδικοι θεου βασιλειαν ου κληρονομησουσιν μη πλανασθε ουτε πορνοι ουτε ειδωλολατραι ουτε μοιχοι ουτε μαλακοι ουτε αρσενοκοιται |
| [10]nor the avaricious, nor thieves, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners, will inherit the kingdom of God. |
[10]ουτε κλεπται ουτε πλεονεκται ου μεθυσοι ου λοιδοροι ουχ αρπαγες βασιλειαν θεου κληρονομησουσιν |
| [11]And these things have been in some of you: but ye are washed, and are sanctified, and made righteous, in the name of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, and by the Spirit of our God. |
[11]και ταυτα τινες ητε αλλα απελουσασθε αλλα ηγιασθητε αλλα εδικαιωθητε εν τω ονοματι του κυριου [ημων] ιησου χριστου και εν τω πνευματι του θεου ημων |
| [12]Every thing is in my power : but every thing is not profitable to me. Every thing is in my power; but none [of them] shall have dominion over me. |
[12]παντα μοι εξεστιν αλλ ου παντα συμφερει παντα μοι εξεστιν αλλ ουκ εγω εξουσιασθησομαι υπο τινος |
| [13]Food is for the belly; and the belly is for food; but God will bring them both to naught. But the body is not for whoredom, but for our Lord; and our Lord for the body. |
[13]τα βρωματα τη κοιλια και η κοιλια τοις βρωμασιν ο δε θεος και ταυτην και ταυτα καταργησει το δε σωμα ου τη πορνεια αλλα τω κυριω και ο κυριος τω σωματι |
| [14]And God hath raised up our Lord; and he will raise us up, by his power. |
[14]ο δε θεος και τον κυριον ηγειρεν και ημας εξεγερει δια της δυναμεως αυτου |
| [15]Know ye not, that your bodies are the members of the Messiah? Shall one take a member of the Messiah, and make it the member of a harlot? Far be it. |
[15]ουκ οιδατε οτι τα σωματα υμων μελη χριστου εστιν αρας ουν τα μελη του χριστου ποιησω πορνης μελη μη γενοιτο |
| [16]Or know ye not, that whoever joineth himself to a harlot, is one body [with her]? For it is said, They twain shall be one body. |
[16]η [η] ουκ οιδατε οτι ο κολλωμενος τη πορνη εν σωμα εστιν εσονται γαρ φησιν οι δυο εις σαρκα μιαν |
| [17]But he that joineth himself to our Lord, is with him one spirit. |
[17]ο δε κολλωμενος τω κυριω εν πνευμα εστιν |
| [18]Flee whoredom. For every [other] sin which a man committeth, is external to his body; but he that committeth whoredom, sinneth against his own body. |
[18]φευγετε την πορνειαν παν αμαρτημα ο εαν ποιηση ανθρωπος εκτος του σωματος εστιν ο δε πορνευων εις το ιδιον σωμα αμαρτανει |
| [19]Or know ye not, that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who abideth in you, whom ye have received from God? And ye are not your own. |
[19]η ουκ οιδατε οτι το σωμα υμων ναος του εν υμιν αγιου πνευματος εστιν ου εχετε απο θεου και ουκ εστε εαυτων |
| [20]For ye are bought with a price. Therefore, glorify ye God, with your body, and with your spirit, which are God's. |
[20]ηγορασθητε γαρ τιμης δοξασατε δη τον θεον εν τω σωματι υμων |
