Peshitta NT (Etheridge, 1849)
PesNT(Eth)
[1]Children these things write I to you that not you will sin and if a man will sin there is to us The Redeemer from the curse with The Father Ieshu The Messiah The Righteous One [1]My sons, these write I to you, that you sin not. And if a man shall sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jeshu Meshiha, the Just;
[2]He is for the atonement Who is for the sake of our sins and not in our place ours only but also in the place of all the universe [2]For he is the propitiation for our sins, and not on behalf of ours only, but also on behalf of the whole world.
[3]And by this we sense that we know Him if we keep His commandments [3]And by this we feel that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
[4]He for who says I know Him and His commandments not keeps lying is and the truth is not in him [4]For he who saith that he knoweth him, and his commandments keepeth not, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
[5]He but who keeps His word in this one is perfected truly the love of Alaha in this for we know that in Him we are [5]But he who keepeth his word, in him is perfected truly the love of Aloha; for by this we know that we are in him.
[6]He who says in Him I am it is necessary for him that according to His walking His he should walk [6]He who saith, I am in him, ought according to his walkings to walk.
[7]Beloved ones not a commandment new write I to you but a commandment ancient that which being was to you from the beginning the commandment but old is word that which you have heard [7]MY beloved, a new commandment I write not to you, but the old commandment, that which was with you from the beginning; but the old commandment is the word which you have heard.
[8]Again a commandment new write I to you that which is true in Him and in you for the darkness has passed it the light true begins to appear [8]Again, a new commandment I write to you, that which is true in him and in you; because the darkness hath passed, and the true light beginneth to appear.
[9]Whoever says therefore that he is in the light and hates his brother in darkness is until now [9]Whoever saith, then, that he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness until now.
[10]He but who loves his brother in light dwells and offense there is not in him [10]He who loveth his brother, in the light abideth, and offence is not in him.
[11]He but who hates his brother in darkness is and in darkness walks and not knows where he goes because the darkness has blinded them his eyes [11]He who hateth his brother is in darkness, and in the darkness walketh, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because the darkness itself hath blinded his eyes.
[12]Write I to you children that are forgiven to you your sins because of His Name [12]I write to you, sons, because forgiven to you are your sins for the sake of his name.
[13]Write I to you fathers that you have known Him The One Who being was from the beginning write I to you young men that you have conquered him the Evil One I have written to you boys that you have known The Father [13]I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who hath been from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked. I have written to you, children, because you have known the Father.
[14]I have written to you fathers that you have known Him Who is from the beginning I have written to you young men that strong you are and the word of Alaha dwells in you and you have conquered The Evil One [14]I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him who [hath been] from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of Aloha remaineth in you, and you have overcome the wicked.
[15]Not love the world neither the things that are in it whoever for loves the world the love of The Father is not in him [15]Love not the world, nor any thing which is in it; for whoever loveth the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
[16]Every thing for that is in it in the world desire the of the body and the lust of the eyes and the pride of temporal life these that not have been from The Father but from it these are from the world [16]For every thing that is in the world, is the lust of the body, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of the world. These which are not of the Father, but they are from the world itself.
[17]Passing the world is and its lust he but who does the will of Alaha continues to eternity [17]And the world passeth, [both] it and its lusts; but he who doeth the will of Aloha, continueth for ever.
[18]My children a time it is an end and as what you have heard that comes The Messiah false and now have been to them many messiahs false and from this we know that a time it is an end [18]My sons, it is the last time: and as you have heard, the false meshiha cometh; and now there are many false meshihas, and from this we know that it is the last time.
[19]From us they went out but not from us they were if for from us they were with us remaining they would have been but they went out from us to disclose that not from us they were [19]From us they went forth, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, with us would they have remained. But they went forth from us, that it might be known that they were not of us.
[20]And you an anointing is to you from The Holy One and distinguish you do every person [20]And you have an anointing from the Holy, and you discern every man.
[21]Not I have written to you because not know you it the truth but because know you it and that every lie not is from it from the truth [21]I have not written to you because you know not the truth, but you know it, and that no lie is of it, of the truth.
[22]Who is? a liar except only whoever denies that Ieshu not is The Messiah this one is The Messiah false he who denies The Father denies also The Son [22]Who is a liar, if not he who denieth that Jeshu is the Meshiha? and this [one] is a false meshiha.
[23]And he who denies The Son also not in The Father believes whoever confesses The Son also The Father confesses [23]He who denieth the Father, denieth also the Son; and he who denieth the Son, disbelieveth also the Father. Whoso confesseth the Son, the Father also confesseth.
[24]And you anything that you heard from the first let remain with you if for remains with you that which you heard from the first also you remaining are in The Father and in The Son [24]And you, what you have heard from the first, let it continue with you. For, if what you have heard from the first continue with you, you also will continue in the Father and in the Son.
[25]And this is the promise which He has promised us life eternal [25]And this is the promise which he promised to us, eternal life.
[26]These things but I have written to you because of those who seduce you [26]But these I have written to you, because of those who would seduce you.
[27]And also you if will remain with you The Anointing Which you received from Him not need you that anyone will teach you but as The Anointing Who is from Alaha is teaching you about everything and true is and there is not in Him falsehood and as He has taught you abide in Him [27]And you, also, if the anointing continue with you which you have received from him, have not need that a man should teach you; but as the anointing that is from Aloha itself teacheth you concerning every thing, and is true, neither is falsity in it; and as it hath taught you, continue in it.
28[No verse] [28]And now, my sons, continue in him: that when he is manifested we may not he confounded of him, but we may have confidence at his coming.
29[No verse] [29]If you know that he is righteous, know also that every one who doeth righteousness is of him.
