Peshitta NT (Etheridge, 1849)
PesNT(Eth)
[1]And behold how much abounds the love of The Father to us that children He has called us also He has made us because of this the world not knows us because neither Him it knows [1]And see how great is the love of the Father toward us, that sons he hath called us, and also made us! Therefore the world doth not know us, because that it hath also not known him.
[2]Beloved now children we are of Alaha and not was it revealed until now what? we are going to be we know but that when He has been revealed in His likeness we shall be and we shall see Him as what He is [2]MY beloved, now are we the sons of Aloha; and it is not manifest, as yet, what we are to become, but we know, that when he is manifested, in his likeness we are and see him, according to that which he is.
[3]And everyone who that is to Him upon Him this hope purifies himself as He pure is [3]And every one who hath in him this hope, purifieth himself, as He is pure.
[4]Whoever but does sin evil commits sin for entirely evil is [4]But whoever committeth sin doeth iniquity; for all sin is iniquity.
[5]And know you that He was revealed to take away our sins and sin in Him there is not [5]And you know that he was manifested to bear our sins, and sin in him is not.
[6]And everyone who in Him remains not sins and everyone who sins not has seen Him neither has he known Him [6]And every one who in him abideth, sinneth not. And every one who sinneth, hath not seen him, nor known him.
[7]Children not anyone let deceive you he who does righteousness righteous is as also He The Messiah is righteous [7]My sons, let no man deceive you: he who worketh righteousness is righteous, as also the Meshiha himself is righteous.
[8]He who commits sin from Satan is because from the beginning he Satan a sinner is and because of this appeared The Son of Alaha to destroy the works of Satan [8]And he who doeth sin is of Satana, because that from the commencement Satana was a sinner. And for this cause did the Son of Aloha appear, that he might destroy the works of Satana.
[9]Everyone who is begotten from Alaha sin not does because his seed in him is and not he is able to sin because from Alaha he has been begotten [9]Every one who is born of Aloha, sin doth not work, because that his seed is in him, and he cannot sin, because of Aloha he is born.
[10]In this are distinguished the children of Alaha from the children of Satan everyone who not does righteousness neither loves his brother is not from Alaha [10]In this are distinguished the sons of Aloha from the sons of Satana; every one who doeth not righteousness, nor loveth his brother, is not of Aloha.
[11]For this is the commandment that you have heard from the first that you shall love one another [11]For this is the commandment which you have heard from before, that you love one another.
[12]Not as Qayn He who being was from The Evil One and murdered his brother and because of what? he murdered him but because evil were his works and that his brother's righteous [12]Not as Koen, who was from the Evil, and killed his brother. And on what account killed he him? unless that his own works were evil and his brother's righteous.
[13]And not be surprised my brothers if hates you the world [13]Do not wonder, my brethren, if the world hate you.
[14]We we know that we have departed from death to life in this that we love the brethren he who not loves his brother remains in the death [14]We know that we have passed from death unto life, by this, that we love our brethren. He who loveth not his brother, in death continueth.
[15]Every for who hates his brother murder a person does and know you that everyone who murders a person not can abide in him lives eternal [15]For every one who hateth his brother is a man-killer; and we know that in no man-killer can abide the life which is eternal.
[16]By this we know His love that is toward us for He gave His Life in our place and also we it is right for us that for the sake of our brothers we would give our lives [16]In this we know His love toward us, that he gave himself for us; [so] also it is right for us for the sake of our brethren to give ourselves.
[17]And whoever? has to him possessions of the world and will see his brother who has a need and will withhold his compassion from him how? is in him the love of Alaha [17]And he who hath the possession of the world, and shall see his brother that he needeth, and shall shut his compassions from him, how is there in him the love of Aloha?
[18]Children not let us love one another in words and in tongue but in deeds and in truth [18]My sons, let us not love one another in words and in tongue, but in works and in truth.
[19]And by this we are made known that from the truth we are and before comes He we assure our hearts [19]And by this we make known that we are of the truth, and before that he cometh we make confident our hearts.
[20]For if it is our heart condemns us how much? Alaha greater is than our heart and He knows all things [20]And if our heart condemn us, how much [more] Aloha, who is greater than our heart, and knoweth every thing!
[21]Beloved if our heart not condemns us open are our faces before Alaha [21]My beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have openness of face before Aloha.
[22]And all things that we ask we shall receive from Him because we keep His commandments and good we do before Him [22]And whatever we ask, we shall receive from him, because we keep his commandments, and do the things which are beautiful before him.
[23]And this is His commandment that we believe in The Name of His Son Ieshu The Messiah and we should love one another as He commanded us [23]And this is his commandment, That we believe in the name of his Son Jeshu Meshiha, and love one another, as he hath commanded us.
[24]And whoever keeps His commandments by Him is kept and He lodges in him and by this we perceive that He lodges in us from His Spirit That One Whom He gives to us [24]And he who keepeth his commandments, is kept by him, and he dwelleth in him: and by this we perceive that he dwelleth in us, by his Spirit whom he hath given to us.
