[1]οσοι εισιν υπο ζυγον δουλοι τους ιδιους δεσποτας πασης τιμης αξιους ηγεισθωσαν ινα μη το ονομα του θεου και η διδασκαλια βλασφημηται [1]Let those who are under the yoke of servitude hold their masters in all honour, that the name of Aloha and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
[2]οι δε πιστους εχοντες δεσποτας μη καταφρονειτωσαν οτι αδελφοι εισιν αλλα μαλλον δουλευετωσαν οτι πιστοι εισιν και αγαπητοι οι της ευεργεσιας αντιλαμβανομενοι ταυτα διδασκε και παρακαλει [2]But let not those who have believing masters slight them, because they are their brethren; but serve them the more, because they are believers, and beloved who are refreshed by their ministry. These things teach and require of them.
[3]ει τις ετεροδιδασκαλει και μη προσερχεται υγιαινουσιν λογοις τοις του κυριου ημων ιησου χριστου και τη κατ ευσεβειαν διδασκαλια [3]But if there be a man who teacheth other doctrine, and who accedeth not to the healthful words of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha, and to the doctrine of the fear of Aloha,
[4]τετυφωται μηδεν επισταμενος αλλα νοσων περι ζητησεις και λογομαχιας εξ ων γινεται φθονος ερις βλασφημιαι υπονοιαι πονηραι [4]This [is one] who extolleth himself while knowing nothing, but is infirm with disputation and questioning of words, from which are envy, and contention, and evil speaking, and supposition in the evil mind,
[5]παραδιατριβαι διεφθαρμενων ανθρωπων τον νουν και απεστερημενων της αληθειας νομιζοντων πορισμον ειναι την ευσεβειαν αφιστασο απο των τοιουτων [5]And conflicts of men whose minds are corrupt and deprived of the truth, and who consider that gain is the fear of Aloha. But thou, remove thyself from them.
[6]εστιν δε πορισμος μεγας η ευσεβεια μετα αυταρκειας [6]For our gain is great which is the fear of Aloha, with the use of our sufficiency.
[7]ουδεν γαρ εισηνεγκαμεν εις τον κοσμον δηλον οτι ουδε εξενεγκειν τι δυναμεθα [7]For nothing brought we into the world, and we know that nothing we are able to take from it.
[8]εχοντες δε διατροφας και σκεπασματα τουτοις αρκεσθησομεθα [8]Therefore sufficient to us are food and raiment.
[9]οι δε βουλομενοι πλουτειν εμπιπτουσιν εις πειρασμον και παγιδα και επιθυμιας πολλας ανοητους και βλαβερας αιτινες βυθιζουσιν τους ανθρωπους εις ολεθρον και απωλειαν [9]But they who will be rich fall into temptations and snares, and many lusts which befool and injure, and which plunge men into destruction and perdition.
[10]ριζα γαρ παντων των κακων εστιν η φιλαργυρια ης τινες ορεγομενοι απεπλανηθησαν απο της πιστεως και εαυτους περιεπειραν οδυναις πολλαις [10]For the root of all evil is the love of money; and there are who have coveted it, and from the faith have erred, and have made themselves enter into many sorrows.
[11]συ δε ω ανθρωπε του θεου ταυτα φευγε διωκε δε δικαιοσυνην ευσεβειαν πιστιν αγαπην υπομονην πραοτητα [11]But thou, O man of God, from these things flee, and follow after righteousness, and after equity, and after faith, and after charity, and after patience, and after meekness.
[12]αγωνιζου τον καλον αγωνα της πιστεως επιλαβου της αιωνιου ζωης εις ην και εκληθης και ωμολογησας την καλην ομολογιαν ενωπιον πολλων μαρτυρων [12]And contend in the good agony of faith, and lay hold of the life which is eternal, unto which thou art called, and hast confessed a good confession before many witnesses.
[13]παραγγελλω σοι ενωπιον του θεου του ζωοποιουντος τα παντα και χριστου ιησου του μαρτυρησαντος επι ποντιου πιλατου την καλην ομολογιαν [13]I ATTEST thee before Aloha, who vivifieth all, and Jeshu Meshiha, who witnessed before Pontius Pilatos the good testimony,
[14]τηρησαι σε την εντολην ασπιλον ανεπιληπτον μεχρι της επιφανειας του κυριου ημων ιησου χριστου [14]That thou keep [this] commandment without spot and without blemish, until the manifestation of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha,
[15]ην καιροις ιδιοις δειξει ο μακαριος και μονος δυναστης ο βασιλευς των βασιλευοντων και κυριος των κυριευοντων [15]Whom in his time will show Aloha the blessed and only Strong One, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
[16]ο μονος εχων αθανασιαν φως οικων απροσιτον ον ειδεν ουδεις ανθρωπων ουδε ιδειν δυναται ω τιμη και κρατος αιωνιον αμην [16]He who only is incorruptible, and [who] dwelleth in light which no man can approach; whom no man of men hath seen, nor is able to see: to him be honour and power for ever and ever. Amen.
[17]τοις πλουσιοις εν τω νυν αιωνι παραγγελλε μη υψηλοφρονειν μηδε ηλπικεναι επι πλουτου αδηλοτητι αλλ εν τω θεω τω ζωντι τω παρεχοντι ημιν πλουσιως παντα εις απολαυσιν [17]The rich of this world instruct, that they be not uplifted in their minds, nor be trustful upon riches which have no security, but upon Aloha the living, who giveth to us all abundantly for our comfort;
[18]αγαθοεργειν πλουτειν εν εργοις καλοις ευμεταδοτους ειναι κοινωνικους [18]And that they perform good works, and become rich in welldoings, and be ready to give and to communicate,
[19]αποθησαυριζοντας εαυτοις θεμελιον καλον εις το μελλον ινα επιλαβωνται της αιωνιου ζωης [19]And lay for themselves a good foundation for that which is to be, that they may lay hold on the true life.
[20]ω τιμοθεε την παρακαταθηκην φυλαξον εκτρεπομενος τας βεβηλους κενοφωνιας και αντιθεσεις της ψευδωνυμου γνωσεως [20]O Timothy, watch over that which is confided to thee, and fly from vain words, and the turnings of false knowledge.
[21]ην τινες επαγγελλομενοι περι την πιστιν ηστοχησαν η χαρις μετα σου αμην [προς τιμοθεον πρωτη εγραφη απο λαοδικειας ητις εστιν μητροπολις φρυγιας της πακατιανης] [21]For they who pursue it err from the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. Finished is the First Epistle to Timotheos, which was written from Laodikia
