[2]And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye are with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. [2]And he went outH3318[H8799] to meetH6440 AsaH609, and saidH559[H8799] unto him, HearH8085[H8798] ye me, AsaH609, and all JudahH3063 and BenjaminH1144; The LORDH3068 is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seekH1875[H8799] him, he will be foundH4672[H8735] of you; but if ye forsakeH5800[H8799] him, he will forsakeH5800 youH8799.
[3]Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law. [3]Now for a longH7227 seasonH3117 IsraelH3478 hath been withoutH3808 the trueH571 GodH430, and without a teachingH3384[H8688] priestH3548, and without lawH8451.
[4]But when they in their trouble returned to the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found by them. [4]But when they in their troubleH6862 did turnH7725[H8799] unto the LORDH3068 GodH430 of IsraelH3478, and soughtH1245[H8762] him, he was foundH4672 of themH8735.
[5]And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries. [5]And in those timesH6256 there was no peaceH7965 to him that went outH3318[H8802], nor to him that came inH935[H8802], but greatH7227 vexationsH4103 were upon all the inhabitantsH3427[H8802] of the countriesH776.
[6]And nation was destroyed by nation, and city by city: for God troubled them with all adversity. [6]And nationH1471 was destroyedH3807[H8795] of nationH1471, and cityH5892 of cityH5892: for GodH430 did vexH2000[H8804] them with all adversityH6869.
[7]Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak; for your work shall be rewarded. [7]Be ye strongH2388[H8798] therefore, and let not your handsH3027 be weakH7503[H8799]: for your workH6468 shall beH3426 rewardedH7939.
[8]And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD. [9]And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they resorted to him out of Israel in multitudes, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him. [9]And he gatheredH6908[H8799] all JudahH3063 and BenjaminH1144, and the strangersH1481[H8802] with them out of EphraimH669 and ManassehH4519, and out of SimeonH8095: for they fellH5307[H8804] to him out of IsraelH3478 in abundanceH7230, when they sawH7200[H8800] that the LORDH3068 his God was with himH430.

[11]And they offered to the LORD at the same time, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep. [13]That whoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. [14]And they swore to the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets. [14]And they swareH7650[H8735] unto the LORDH3068 with a loudH1419 voiceH6963, and with shoutingH8643, and with trumpetsH2689, and with cornetsH7782.
[15]And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found by them: and the LORD gave them rest on all sides. [16]And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron. [16]And also concerning MaachahH4601 the motherH517 of AsaH609 the kingH4428, he removedH5493[H8689] her from being queenH1377, because she had madeH6213[H8804] an idolH4656 in a groveH842: and AsaH609 cut downH3772[H8799] her idolH4656, and stampedH1854[H8686] it, and burntH8313[H8799] it at the brookH5158 KidronH6939.
[17]But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days. [17]But the high placesH1116 were not taken awayH5493[H8804] out of IsraelH3478: nevertheless the heartH3824 of AsaH609 was perfectH8003 all his daysH3117.
[18]And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels. [18]And he broughtH935[H8686] into the houseH1004 of GodH430 the things that his fatherH1 had dedicatedH6944, and that he himself had dedicatedH6944, silverH3701, and goldH2091, and vesselsH3627.
[19]And there was no more war until the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa. [19]And there was no more warH4421 unto the fiveH2568 and thirtiethH7970 yearH8141 of the reignH4438 of AsaH609.
