Peshitta NT (Etheridge, 1849)
PesNT(Eth)
[1]τριτον τουτο ερχομαι προς υμας επι στοματος δυο μαρτυρων και τριων σταθησεται παν ρημα [1]This is the third time that I prepare to come to you; and in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
[2]προειρηκα και προλεγω ως παρων το δευτερον και απων νυν γραφω τοις προημαρτηκοσιν και τοις λοιποις πασιν οτι εαν ελθω εις το παλιν ου φεισομαι [2]I have foretold you, and again I foretell you; as also twice while I was with you I told you, [so] now also being distant I write to those who have sinned, and to the rest of the others; that if I come again I will not spare.
[3]επει δοκιμην ζητειτε του εν εμοι λαλουντος χριστου ος εις υμας ουκ ασθενει αλλα δυνατει εν υμιν [3]Inasmuch as you demand the proof of the Meshiha who speaketh in me, [of] Him who is not weak among you, but is mighty among you:
[4]και γαρ ει εσταυρωθη εξ ασθενειας αλλα ζη εκ δυναμεως θεου και γαρ ημεις ασθενουμεν εν αυτω αλλα ζησομεθα συν αυτω εκ δυναμεως θεου εις υμας [4]—for though he was crucified in weakness, yet he liveth with the power of Aloha:—so also we are weak with you, but we live with him through the power of Aloha which is among you.
[5]εαυτους πειραζετε ει εστε εν τη πιστει εαυτους δοκιμαζετε η ουκ επιγινωσκετε εαυτους οτι ιησους χριστος εν υμιν εστιν ει μη τι αδοκιμοι εστε [5]Prove yourselves, whether in the faith itself you stand; try yourselves. Are you not assured that Jeshu the Meshiha is in you, if you be not reprobates?
[6]ελπιζω δε οτι γνωσεσθε οτι ημεις ουκ εσμεν αδοκιμοι [6]But I trust you will know that we are not reprobate.
[7]ευχομαι δε προς τον θεον μη ποιησαι υμας κακον μηδεν ουχ ινα ημεις δοκιμοι φανωμεν αλλ ινα υμεις το καλον ποιητε ημεις δε ως αδοκιμοι ωμεν [7]But I implore of Aloha that there may not be any thing in you that is evil, that our proving may be seen; but that you may do good, and that we may be as unproved.
[8]ου γαρ δυναμεθα τι κατα της αληθειας αλλ υπερ της αληθειας [8]For we are not able to do any thing against the truth, but for the truth.
[9]χαιρομεν γαρ οταν ημεις ασθενωμεν υμεις δε δυνατοι ητε τουτο δε και ευχομεθα την υμων καταρτισιν [9]For we rejoice when we are weak, and you are strong: but this also we pray, that you may be perfect.
[10]δια τουτο ταυτα απων γραφω ινα παρων μη αποτομως χρησωμαι κατα την εξουσιαν ην εδωκεν μοι ο κυριος εις οικοδομην και ουκ εις καθαιρεσιν [10]Therefore while distant I write these [things], that when I am come I may not act severely, according to the power which my Lord hath given me for your edification, and not for your destruction.
[11]λοιπον αδελφοι χαιρετε καταρτιζεσθε παρακαλεισθε το αυτο φρονειτε ειρηνευετε και ο θεος της αγαπης και ειρηνης εσται μεθ υμων [11]Wherefore, my brethren, rejoice, and be perfect, and be comforted, and let agreement and peace be among you; and the God of love and of peace shall be with you.
[12]ασπασασθε αλληλους εν αγιω φιληματι [12]Salute one another with the holy kiss.
[13]ασπαζονται υμας οι αγιοι παντες [13]All the saints ask for your peace.
[14]η χαρις του κυριου ιησου χριστου και η αγαπη του θεου και η κοινωνια του αγιου πνευματος μετα παντων υμων αμην [14]THE PEACE OF OUR LORD JESHU MESHIHA, AND THE LOVE OF ALOHA, AND THE COMMUNION OF THE SPIRIT OF HOLINESS, BE WITH YOU ALL. AMEN. Finished is the second epistle to the Kurinthoyee; which was written from Philipos of Makedunia, and sent by the hand of Titos.
