Peshitta NT (Etheridge, 1849)
PesNT(Eth)
[1]This the third is time I coming am to you upon mouth of two or three witnesses shall be established every word [1]This is the third time that I prepare to come to you; and in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
[2]From the first I said I had to you and again beforehand I saying am to you as that also a second time when I was with you I said to you and also now as absent I am I write to these who have sinned and to the rest of others whom if I come again not I shall spare [2]I have foretold you, and again I foretell you; as also twice while I was with you I told you, [so] now also being distant I write to those who have sinned, and to the rest of the others; that if I come again I will not spare.
[3]Because proof you seek of The Messiah that He speaks in me he who not is weak among you but mighty is among you [3]Inasmuch as you demand the proof of the Meshiha who speaketh in me, [of] Him who is not weak among you, but is mighty among you:
[4]Although He was crucified for in weakness yet lives He by the power of Alaha and also we are weak with Him but we living are with Him by the power of Alaha that is among you [4]—for though he was crucified in weakness, yet he liveth with the power of Aloha:—so also we are weak with you, but we live with him through the power of Aloha which is among you.
[5]Your souls examine if in it in the faith stand you your souls tend to or not are you aware that Ieshu The Messiah in you is or if not worthless you are [5]Prove yourselves, whether in the faith itself you stand; try yourselves. Are you not assured that Jeshu the Meshiha is in you, if you be not reprobates?
[6]Hope I but that you will know that we not are worthless [6]But I trust you will know that we are not reprobate.
[7]Pray I but of Alaha that not shall be in you anything of evil as that the proofs our may appear but that you you will be doing good and we may be as worthless [7]But I implore of Aloha that there may not be any thing in you that is evil, that our proving may be seen; but that you may do good, and that we may be as unproved.
[8]Not for we can do anything against the truth but for the sake of the truth [8]For we are not able to do any thing against the truth, but for the truth.
[9]We rejoice but whenever we are weak and you are strong this for also we pray that you you may be perfected [9]For we rejoice when we are weak, and you are strong: but this also we pray, that you may be perfect.
[10]Because of this when absent I am these things write I lest when I come severely I deal according to the authority that gives to me My Lord for your building up and not for your destruction [10]Therefore while distant I write these [things], that when I am come I may not act severely, according to the power which my Lord hath given me for your edification, and not for your destruction.
[11]From now on my brethren rejoice and be perfected and be comforted and harmony and peace shall be in you and The Alaha of love and of peace shall be with you [11]Wherefore, my brethren, rejoice, and be perfect, and be comforted, and let agreement and peace be among you; and the God of love and of peace shall be with you.
[12]Invoke peace one of another with a kiss holy [12]Salute one another with the holy kiss.
[13]Invoke your peace all of them the saints [13]All the saints ask for your peace.
[14]The peace of our Lord Ieshu The Messiah and the love of Alaha and the fellowship of The Spirit of Holiness with all of you Amen [14]THE PEACE OF OUR LORD JESHU MESHIHA, AND THE LOVE OF ALOHA, AND THE COMMUNION OF THE SPIRIT OF HOLINESS, BE WITH YOU ALL. AMEN. Finished is the second epistle to the Kurinthoyee; which was written from Philipos of Makedunia, and sent by the hand of Titos.
