| [1]The Elder to the Elect Lady and her children those whom I love I in the truth not it has been but I only but all of those who know the truth |
[1]THE presbyter to the elect Kuria and to her sons, whom I love in truth, nor I only, but all they who know the truth, |
| [2]Because of the truth which dwells in us and with us is to eternity |
[2]On account of the truth which abideth in us, and is with us for ever; |
| [3]Let there be with us grace mercy and peace from Alaha The Father and from our Lord Ieshu The Messiah The Son of The Father in truth and in love |
[3]Grace be with you and mercy and peace, from Aloha the Father, and from Jeshu Meshiha the Son of the Father, in truth and in love. |
| [4]I rejoiced much when I found some of your children who are walking in truth according to the commandment we have received from The Father |
[4]I have rejoiced much to have found of thy sons who walk in the truth, after the commandment we have received from the Father. |
| [5]And now persuade I you Lady not it is according to the commandment new wrote I to you but that which was to us from the beginning that we love one another |
[5]And now I entreat thee, Kuria,—no new commandment writing to thee, but that which we have had from the beginning,—that we love one another. |
| [6]And this is love that we walk according to His commandment this commandment is according to what you heard from the beginning in which you have been walking |
[6]And this is love, that we walk according to the commandment; this commandment is according to that which you have heard from the beginning, that in it we should walk. |
| [7]Because many deceivers have gone out in it into the world those who not confess that Ieshu The Messiah has come in the flesh this is a deceiver and Antichrist |
[7]Because many deceivers are come out into the world who confess not that Jeshu Meshiha came in the flesh. This is the deceiver and antichrist. |
| [8]Pay attention to your souls lest you lose anything that you have cultivated but a reward full you may receive |
[8]Be watchful of yourselves, that not any thing perish which you have wrought; but [that with] a complete reward you may be recompensed. |
| [9]Everyone who is a violator and not continues in the teaching of The Messiah Alaha is not in him he who continues in His teaching this one also The Father and The Son is to him |
[9]Every one who transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of the Meshiha, hath not Aloha.ⓘ He who abideth in his doctrine, this hath both the Father and the Son. |
| [10]If a man comes to you and this the teaching not brings not do receive him into the house and "welcome to you" not you shall speak to him |
[10]If any one come to you, and this doctrine bring not, receive him not into the house, and "Joy to you," and "Farewell," say not to him. |
| [11]He for that says to him "welcome to you" a partaker is with his deeds evil |
[11]For he who saith to him, "Farewell," becometh a participator of his evil deeds. |
| [12]When much there was for me to write to you not I wanted that by parchment and ink but hope I to come to you and mouth to mouth we shall speak that joy our will be complete |
[12]Though I have many things to write to you, I will not with parchment and ink; but I hope to come to you, and mouth with mouth to speak, that our joy may be complete. |
| [13]Invoke your peace the children of your sister elect Amen |
