| [1]וַיְדַבֵּ֤ר דָּוִד֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֖י הַשִּׁירָ֣ה הַזֹּ֑את בְּיֹום֩ הִצִּ֨יל יְהוָ֥ה אֹתֹ֛ו מִכַּ֥ף כָּל־אֹיְבָ֖יו וּמִכַּ֥ף שָׁאֽוּל׃ |
[1]And DavidH1732 spakeH1696[H8762] unto the LORDH3068 the wordsH1697 of this songH7892 in the dayH3117 that the LORDH3068 had deliveredH5337[H8689] him out of the handH3709 of all his enemiesH341[H8802], and out of the handH3709 of SaulH7586: |
| [2]וַיֹּאמַ֑ר יְהוָ֛ה סַֽלְעִ֥י וּמְצֻדָתִ֖י וּמְפַלְטִי־לִֽי׃ |
[2]And he saidH559[H8799], The LORDH3068 is my rockH5553, and my fortressH4686, H6403and my delivererH8764 |
| [3]אֱלֹהֵ֥י צוּרִ֖י אֶחֱסֶה־בֹּ֑ו מָגִנִּ֞י וְקֶ֣רֶן יִשְׁעִ֗י מִשְׂגַּבִּי֙ וּמְנוּסִ֔י מֹשִׁעִ֕י מֵחָמָ֖ס תֹּשִׁעֵֽנִי׃ |
[3]The GodH430 of my rockH6697; in him will I trustH2620[H8799]: he is my shieldH4043, and the hornH7161 of my salvationH3468, my high towerH4869, and my refugeH4498, my saviourH3467[H8688]; thou savestH3467[H8686] me from violenceH2555. |
| [4]מְהֻלָּ֖ל אֶקְרָ֣א יְהוָ֑ה וּמֵאֹיְבַ֖י אִוָּשֵֽׁעַ׃ |
[4]I will callH7121[H8799] on the LORDH3068, who is worthy to be praisedH1984[H8794]: so shall I be savedH3467[H8735] from mine enemiesH341.[H8802] |
| [5]כִּ֥י אֲפָפֻ֖נִי מִשְׁבְּרֵי־מָ֑וֶת נַחֲלֵ֥י בְלִיַּ֖עַל יְבַעֲתֻֽנִי׃ |
[5]When the wavesH4867 of deathH4194 compassedH661[H8804] me, the floodsH5158 of ungodly menH1100 H1204made me afraidH8762 |
| [6]חֶבְלֵ֥י שְׁאֹ֖ול סַבֻּ֑נִי קִדְּמֻ֖נִי מֹֽקְשֵׁי־מָֽוֶת׃ |
[6]The sorrowsH2256 of hellH7585 compassed me aboutH5437[H8804]; the snaresH4170 of deathH4194 preventedH6923 meH8765; |
| [7]בַּצַּר־לִי֙ אֶקְרָ֣א יְהוָ֔ה וְאֶל־אֱלֹהַ֖י אֶקְרָ֑א וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע מֵהֵֽיכָלֹו֙ קֹולִ֔י וְשַׁוְעָתִ֖י בְּאָזְנָֽיו׃ |
[7]In my distressH6862 I calledH7121[H8799] upon the LORDH3068, and criedH7121[H8799] to my GodH430: and he did hearH8085[H8799] my voiceH6963 out of his templeH1964, and my cryH7775 did enter into his earsH241. |
| [8][וַתְגָּעַשׁ כ] (וַיִּתְגָּעַ֤שׁ ק) וַתִּרְעַשׁ֙ הָאָ֔רֶץ מֹוסְדֹ֥ות הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם יִרְגָּ֑זוּ וַיִּֽתְגָּעֲשׁ֖וּ כִּֽי־חָ֥רָה לֹֽו׃ |
[8]Then the earthH776 shookH1607[H8691][H8675][H1607][H8799] and trembledH7493[H8799]; the foundationsH4146 of heavenH8064 movedH7264[H8799] and shookH1607[H8691], because he was wrothH2734.[H8804] |
| [9]עָלָ֤ה עָשָׁן֙ בְּאַפֹּ֔ו וְאֵ֥שׁ מִפִּ֖יו תֹּאכֵ֑ל גֶּחָלִ֖ים בָּעֲר֥וּ מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ |
[9]There went upH5927[H8804] a smokeH6227 out of his nostrilsH639, and fireH784 out of his mouthH6310 devouredH398[H8799]: coalsH1513 were kindledH1197 by itH8804. |
| [10]וַיֵּ֥ט שָׁמַ֖יִם וַיֵּרַ֑ד וַעֲרָפֶ֖ל תַּ֥חַת רַגְלָֽיו׃ |
[10]He bowedH5186[H8799] the heavensH8064 also, and came downH3381[H8799]; and darknessH6205 was under his feetH7272. |
| [11]וַיִּרְכַּ֥ב עַל־כְּר֖וּב וַיָּעֹ֑ף וַיֵּרָ֖א עַל־כַּנְפֵי־רֽוּחַ׃ |
[11]And he rodeH7392[H8799] upon a cherubH3742, and did flyH5774[H8799]: and he was seenH7200[H8735] upon the wingsH3671 of the windH7307. |
| [12]וַיָּ֥שֶׁת חֹ֛שֶׁךְ סְבִיבֹתָ֖יו סֻכֹּ֑ות חַֽשְׁרַת־מַ֖יִם עָבֵ֥י שְׁחָקִֽים׃ |
[12]And he madeH7896[H8799] darknessH2822 pavilionsH5521 round aboutH5439 him, darkH2841 watersH4325, and thick cloudsH5645 of the skiesH7834. |
| [13]מִנֹּ֖גַהּ נֶגְדֹּ֑ו בָּעֲר֖וּ גַּחֲלֵי־אֵֽשׁ׃ |
[13]Through the brightnessH5051 before him were coalsH1513 of fireH784 kindledH1197.[H8804] |
| [14]יַרְעֵ֥ם מִן־שָׁמַ֖יִם יְהוָ֑ה וְעֶלְיֹ֖ון יִתֵּ֥ן קֹולֹֽו׃ |
[14]The LORDH3068 thunderedH7481[H8686] from heavenH8064, and the most HighH5945 utteredH5414[H8799] his voiceH6963. |
| [15]וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח חִצִּ֖ים וַיְפִיצֵ֑ם בָּרָ֖ק [וַיְּהֻמֵּם כ] (וַיָּהֹֽם׃ ק) |
[15]And he sent outH7971[H8799] arrowsH2671, and scatteredH6327[H8686] them; lightningH1300, and discomfitedH2000 themH8799. |
| [16]וַיֵּֽרָאוּ֙ אֲפִ֣קֵי יָ֔ם יִגָּל֖וּ מֹסְדֹ֣ות תֵּבֵ֑ל בְּגַעֲרַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה מִנִּשְׁמַ֖ת ר֥וּחַ אַפֹּֽו׃ |
[16]And the channelsH650 of the seaH3220 appearedH7200[H8735], the foundationsH4146 of the worldH8398 were discoveredH1540[H8735], at the rebukingH1606 of the LORDH3068, at the blastH5397 of the breathH7307 of his nostrilsH639. |
| [17]יִשְׁלַ֥ח מִמָּרֹ֖ום יִקָּחֵ֑נִי יַֽמְשֵׁ֖נִי מִמַּ֥יִם רַבִּֽים׃ |
[17]He sentH7971[H8799] from aboveH4791, he tookH3947[H8799] me; he drewH4871[H8686] me out of manyH7227 watersH4325; |
| [18]יַצִּילֵ֕נִי מֵאֹיְבִ֖י עָ֑ז מִשֹּׂ֣נְאַ֔י כִּ֥י אָמְצ֖וּ מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ |
[18]He deliveredH5337[H8686] me from my strongH5794 enemyH341[H8802], and from them that hatedH8130[H8802] me: for they were too strongH553 for meH8804. |
| [19]יְקַדְּמֻ֖נִי בְּיֹ֣ום אֵידִ֑י וַיְהִ֧י יְהוָ֛ה מִשְׁעָ֖ן לִֽי׃ |
[19]They preventedH6923[H8762] me in the dayH3117 of my calamityH343: but the LORDH3068 was my stayH4937. |
| [20]וַיֹּצֵ֥א לַמֶּרְחָ֖ב אֹתִ֑י יְחַלְּצֵ֖נִי כִּי־חָ֥פֵֽץ בִּֽי׃ |
[20]He brought me forthH3318[H8686] also into a large placeH4800: he deliveredH2502[H8762] me, because he delightedH2654 in meH8804. |
| [21]יִגְמְלֵ֥נִי יְהוָ֖ה כְּצִדְקָתִ֑י כְּבֹ֥ר יָדַ֖י יָשִׁ֥יב לִֽי׃ |
[21]The LORDH3068 rewardedH1580[H8799] me according to my righteousnessH6666: according to the cleannessH1252 of my handsH3027 hath he recompensedH7725 meH8686. |
| [22]כִּ֥י שָׁמַ֖רְתִּי דַּרְכֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וְלֹ֥א רָשַׁ֖עְתִּי מֵאֱלֹהָֽי׃ |
[22]For I have keptH8104[H8804] the waysH1870 of the LORDH3068, and have not wickedly departedH7561[H8804] from my GodH430. |
| [23]כִּ֥י כָל־ [מִשְׁפֹּטֹו כ] (מִשְׁפָּטָ֖יו ק) לְנֶגְדִּ֑י וְחֻקֹּתָ֖יו לֹא־אָס֥וּר מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ |
[23]For all his judgmentsH4941 were before me: and as for his statutesH2708, I did not departH5493 from themH8799. |
| [24]וָאֶהְיֶ֥ה תָמִ֖ים לֹ֑ו וָאֶשְׁתַּמְּרָ֖ה מֵעֲוֹנִֽי׃ |
[24]I was also uprightH8549 before him, and have keptH8104[H8691] myself from mine iniquityH5771. |
| [25]וַיָּ֧שֶׁב יְהוָ֛ה לִ֖י כְּצִדְקָתִ֑י כְּבֹרִ֖י לְנֶ֥גֶד עֵינָֽיו׃ |
[25]Therefore the LORDH3068 hath recompensedH7725[H8686] me according to my righteousnessH6666; according to my cleannessH1252 in his eye sightH5048.[H5869] |
| [26]עִם־חָסִ֖יד תִּתְחַסָּ֑ד עִם־גִּבֹּ֥ור תָּמִ֖ים תִּתַּמָּֽם׃ |
[26]With the mercifulH2623 thou wilt shew thyself mercifulH2616[H8691], and with the uprightH8549 manH1368 thou wilt shew thyself uprightH8552.[H8691] |
| [27]עִם־נָבָ֖ר תִּתָּבָ֑ר וְעִם־עִקֵּ֖שׁ תִּתַּפָּֽל׃ |
[27]With the pureH1305[H8737] thou wilt shew thyself pureH1305[H8691]; and with the frowardH6141 thou wilt shew thyself unsavouryH6617.[H8691] |
| [28]וְאֶת־עַ֥ם עָנִ֖י תֹּושִׁ֑יעַ וְעֵינֶ֖יךָ עַל־רָמִ֥ים תַּשְׁפִּֽיל׃ |
[28]And the afflictedH6041 peopleH5971 thou wilt saveH3467[H8686]: but thine eyesH5869 are upon the haughtyH7311[H8802], that thou mayest bring them downH8213.[H8686] |
| [29]כִּֽי־אַתָּ֥ה נֵירִ֖י יְהוָ֑ה וַיהוָ֖ה יַגִּ֥יהַּ חָשְׁכִּֽי׃ |
[29]For thou art my lampH5216, O LORDH3068: and the LORDH3068 will lightenH5050[H8686] my darknessH2822. |
| [30]כִּ֥י בְכָ֖ה אָר֣וּץ גְּד֑וּד בֵּאלֹהַ֖י אֲדַלֶּג־שֽׁוּר׃ |
[30]For by thee I have runH7323[H8799] through a troopH1416: by my GodH430 have I leaped overH1801[H8762] a wallH7791. |
| [31]הָאֵ֖ל תָּמִ֣ים דַּרְכֹּ֑ו אִמְרַ֤ת יְהוָה֙ צְרוּפָ֔ה מָגֵ֣ן ה֔וּא לְכֹ֖ל הַחֹסִ֥ים בֹּֽו׃ |
[31]As for GodH410, his wayH1870 is perfectH8549; the wordH565 of the LORDH3068 is triedH6884[H8803]: he is a bucklerH4043 to all them that trustH2620 in himH8802. |
| [32]כִּ֥י מִי־אֵ֖ל מִבַּלְעֲדֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וּמִ֥י צ֖וּר מִֽבַּלְעֲדֵ֥י אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ |
[32]For who is GodH410, saveH1107 the LORDH3068? and who is a rockH6697, saveH1107 our GodH430? |
| [33]הָאֵ֥ל מָעוּזִּ֖י חָ֑יִל וַיַּתֵּ֥ר תָּמִ֖ים [דַּרְכֹּו כ] (דַּרְכִּֽי׃ ק) |
[33]GodH410 is my strengthH4581 and powerH2428: and he makethH5425[H8686] my wayH1870 perfectH8549. |
| [34]מְשַׁוֶּ֥ה [רַגְלָיו כ] (רַגְלַ֖י ק) כָּאַיָּלֹ֑ות וְעַ֥ל בָּמֹותַ֖י יַעֲמִדֵֽנִי׃ |
[34]He makethH7737 my feetH7272 likeH7737[H8764] hinds'H355 feet: and settethH5975[H8686] me upon my high placesH1116. |
| [35]מְלַמֵּ֥ד יָדַ֖י לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה וְנִחַ֥ת קֶֽשֶׁת־נְחוּשָׁ֖ה זְרֹעֹתָֽי׃ |
[35]He teachethH3925[H8764] my handsH3027 to warH4421; so that a bowH7198 of steelH5154 is brokenH5181[H8765] by mine armsH2220. |
| [36]וַתִּתֶּן־לִ֖י מָגֵ֣ן יִשְׁעֶ֑ךָ וַעֲנֹתְךָ֖ תַּרְבֵּֽנִי׃ |
[36]Thou hast also givenH5414[H8799] me the shieldH4043 of thy salvationH3468: and thy gentlenessH6031[H8800][H8676][H6038] hath made me greatH7235.[H8686] |
| [37]תַּרְחִ֥יב צַעֲדִ֖י תַּחְתֵּ֑נִי וְלֹ֥א מָעֲד֖וּ קַרְסֻלָּֽי׃ |
[37]Thou hast enlargedH7337[H8686] my stepsH6806 under me; so that my feetH7166 did not slipH4571.[H8804] |
| [38]אֶרְדְּפָ֥ה אֹיְבַ֖י וָאַשְׁמִידֵ֑ם וְלֹ֥א אָשׁ֖וּב עַד־כַּלֹּותָֽם׃ |
[38]I have pursuedH7291[H8799] mine enemiesH341[H8802], and destroyedH8045[H8686] them; and turned not againH7725[H8799] until I had consumedH3615 themH8763. |
| [39]וָאֲכַלֵּ֥ם וָאֶמְחָצֵ֖ם וְלֹ֣א יְקוּמ֑וּן וַֽיִּפְּל֖וּ תַּ֥חַת רַגְלָֽי׃ |
[39]And I have consumedH3615[H8762] them, and woundedH4272[H8799] them, that they could not ariseH6965[H8799]: yea, they are fallenH5307[H8799] under my feetH7272. |
| [40]וַתַּזְרֵ֥נִי חַ֖יִל לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה תַּכְרִ֥יעַ קָמַ֖י תַּחְתֵּֽנִי׃ |
[40]For thou hast girdedH247[H8762] me with strengthH2428 to battleH4421: them that rose upH6965[H8801] against me hast thou subduedH3766 under meH8686. |
| [41]וְאֹ֣יְבַ֔י תַּ֥תָּה לִּ֖י עֹ֑רֶף מְשַׂנְאַ֖י וָאַצְמִיתֵֽם׃ |
[41]Thou hast also givenH5414[H8804] me the necksH6203 of mine enemiesH341[H8802], that I might destroyH6789[H8686] them that hateH8130 meH8764. |
| [42]יִשְׁע֖וּ וְאֵ֣ין מֹשִׁ֑יעַ אֶל־יְהוָ֖ה וְלֹ֥א עָנָֽם׃ |
[42]They lookedH8159[H8799], but there was none to saveH3467[H8688]; even unto the LORDH3068, but he answeredH6030 them notH8804. |
| [43]וְאֶשְׁחָקֵ֖ם כַּעֲפַר־אָ֑רֶץ כְּטִיט־חוּצֹ֥ות אֲדִקֵּ֖ם אֶרְקָעֵֽם׃ |
[43]Then did I beatH7833[H8799] them as small as the dustH6083 of the earthH776, I did stampH1854[H8686] them as the mireH2916 of the streetH2351, and did spread them abroadH7554.[H8799] |
| [44]וַֽתְּפַלְּטֵ֔נִי מֵרִיבֵ֖י עַמִּ֑י תִּשְׁמְרֵ֙נִי֙ לְרֹ֣אשׁ גֹּויִ֔ם עַ֥ם לֹא־יָדַ֖עְתִּי יַעַבְדֻֽנִי׃ |
[44]Thou also hast deliveredH6403[H8762] me from the strivingsH7379 of my peopleH5971, thou hast keptH8104[H8799] me to be headH7218 of the heathenH1471: a peopleH5971 which I knewH3045[H8804] not shall serveH5647 meH8799. |
| [45]בְּנֵ֥י נֵכָ֖ר יִתְכַּֽחֲשׁוּ־לִ֑י לִשְׁמֹ֥ועַ אֹ֖זֶן יִשָּׁ֥מְעוּ לִֽי׃ |
[45]StrangersH1121[H5236] shall submitH3584[H8691] themselves unto me: as soon as they hearH8085[H8800][H241], they shall be obedientH8085 unto meH8735. |
| [46]בְּנֵ֥י נֵכָ֖ר יִבֹּ֑לוּ וְיַחְגְּר֖וּ מִמִּסְגְּרֹותָֽם׃ |
[46]StrangersH1121[H5236] shall fade awayH5034[H8799], and they shall be afraidH2296[H8799] out of their close placesH4526. |
| [47]חַי־יְהוָ֖ה וּבָר֣וּךְ צוּרִ֑י וְיָרֻ֕ם אֱלֹהֵ֖י צ֥וּר יִשְׁעִֽי׃ |
[47]The LORDH3068 livethH2416; and blessedH1288[H8803] be my rockH6697; and exaltedH7311[H8799] be the GodH430 of the rockH6697 of my salvationH3468. |
| [48]הָאֵ֕ל הַנֹּתֵ֥ן נְקָמֹ֖ת לִ֑י וּמֹורִ֥יד עַמִּ֖ים תַּחְתֵּֽנִי׃ |
[48]It is GodH410 that avengethH5414[H8802][H5360] me, and that bringeth downH3381[H8688] the people under meH5971, |
| [49]וּמֹוצִיאִ֖י מֵאֹֽיְבָ֑י וּמִקָּמַי֙ תְּרֹ֣ומְמֵ֔נִי מֵאִ֥ישׁ חֲמָסִ֖ים תַּצִּילֵֽנִי׃ |
[49]And that bringeth me forthH3318[H8688] from mine enemiesH341[H8802]: thou also hast lifted me up on highH7311[H8787] above them that rose upH6965[H8801] against me: thou hast deliveredH5337[H8686] me from the violentH2555 manH376. |
| [50]עַל־כֵּ֛ן אֹודְךָ֥ יְהוָ֖ה בַּגֹּויִ֑ם וּלְשִׁמְךָ֖ אֲזַמֵּֽר׃ |
[50]Therefore I will give thanksH3034[H8686] unto thee, O LORDH3068, among the heathenH1471, and I will sing praisesH2167[H8762] unto thy nameH8034. |
| [51][מִגְדִיל כ] (מִגְדֹּ֖ול ק) יְשׁוּעֹ֣ות מַלְכֹּ֑ו וְעֹֽשֶׂה־חֶ֧סֶד לִמְשִׁיחֹ֛ו לְדָוִ֥ד וּלְזַרְעֹ֖ו עַד־עֹולָֽם׃ ף |
[51]He is the towerH4024[H8675][H1431][H8688] of salvationH3444 for his kingH4428: and shewethH6213[H8802] mercyH2617 to his anointedH4899, unto DavidH1732, and to his seedH2233 forH5704 evermoreH5769. |
