[1]And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go number Israel and Judah. |

[2]For the king said to Joab the captain of the host, who was with him, Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, and number ye the people, that I may know the number of the people. |

[3]And Joab said to the king, Now the LORD thy God add to the people, how many soever they may be, a hundred-fold, and that the eyes of my lord the king may see it: but why doth my lord the king delight in this thing? |

[4]Notwithstanding the king's word prevailed against Joab, and against the captains of the host. And Joab and the captains of the host went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Israel. |
| [5]καίC διαβαίνωVZI-AAI3P ὁRA-ASM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-ASM καίC παρα ἐνβάλλωVBI-AAI3P ἐνP *αροηρN--DS ἐκP δεξιόςA1A-GPN ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF ὁRA-GSF ἐνP μέσοςA1-DSN ὁRA-GSF φάραγξN3G-GSF *γαδN--GSM καίC *ελιεζερN--GSM |
[5]And they passed over Jordan, and pitched in Aroer, on the right side of the city that lieth in the midst of the river of Gad, and towards Jazer: |
| [6]καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P εἰςP ὁRA-ASF *γαλαάδN--ASF καίC εἰςP γῆN1-ASF *θαβασωνN--G ὅςRR-NSF εἰμίV9-PAI3S *αδασαιN--N καίC παραγίγνομαιVBI-AMI3P εἰςP *δανιδανN--AS καίC *ουδανN--AS καίC κυκλόωVAI-AAI3P εἰςP *σιδώνN3-AS |
[6]Then they came to Gilead, and to the land of Tahtim-hodshi; and they came to Dan-jaan, and about to Zidon, |
| [7]καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P εἰςP *μαψαρN--AS *τύροςN2-GS καίC πᾶςA1S-APF ὁRA-APF πόλιςN3I-APF ὁRA-GSM *ευαῖοςN2-GSM καίC ὁRA-GSM *χαναναῖοςN2-GSM καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P κατάP νότοςN2-ASM *ιουδαN--GSM εἰςP *βηρσαβεεN--AS |
[7]And came to the strong hold of Tyre, and to all the cities of the Hivites, and of the Canaanites: and they went out to the south of Judah, even to Beer-sheba. |
| [8]καίC περιὁδεύωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP πᾶςA1S-DSF ὁRA-DSF γῆN1-DSF καίC παραγίγνομαιVBI-AMI3P ἀπόP τέλοςN3E-GSN ἐννέαM μήνN3-GPM καίC εἴκοσιM ἡμέραN1A-GPF εἰςP *ἰερουσαλήμN--ASF |
[8]So when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days. |

[9]And Joab presented the sum of the number of the people to the king: and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men. |

[10]And David's heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said to the LORD, I have sinned greatly in what I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O LORD, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly. |

[11]For when David had risen in the morning, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying, |
| [12]πορεύομαιVC-APD2S καίC λαλέωVF-FAPASN πρόςP *δαυίδN--ASM λέγωV1-PAPNSM ὅδεRD-APN λέγωV1-PAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM τρεῖςA3-APN ἐγώRP-NS εἰμίV9-PAI1S αἴρωV1-PAI1S ἐπίP σύRP-AS καίC ἐκλέγωVA-AMD2S σεαυτοῦRD-DSM εἷςA3-ASN ἐκP αὐτόςRD-GPN καίC ποιέωVF-FAI1S σύRP-DS |
[12]Go and say to David, Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things; choose thee one of them, that I may do it to thee. |
| [13]καίC εἰςἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S *γαδN--NSM πρόςP *δαυίδN--ASM καίC ἀναἀγγέλλωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM ἐκλέγωVA-AMD2S σεαυτοῦRD-DSM γίγνομαιVB-AMN εἰC ἔρχομαιVB-AAS3S σύRP-DS τρεῖςA3-APN ἔτοςN3E-APN λιμόςN2-NSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF γῆN1-DSF σύRP-GS ἤC τρεῖςM--APM μήνN3-APM φεύγωV1-PAN σύRP-AS ἔμπροσθενP ὁRA-GPM ἐχθρόςA1A-GPM σύRP-GS καίC εἰμίVF-FMI3P διώκωV1-PAPNPM σύRP-AS ἤC γίγνομαιVB-AMN τρεῖςM--APF ἡμέραN1A-APF θάνατοςN2-ASM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF γῆN1-DSF σύRP-GS νῦνD οὖνX γιγνώσκωVZ-AAD2S καίC ὁράωVB-AAD2S τίςRI-ASN ἀποκρίνωVC-APS1S ὁRA-DSM ἀποστέλλωVA-AAPDSM ἐγώRP-AS ῥῆμαN3M-ASN |
[13]So Gad came to David, and told him, and said to him, Shall seven years of famine come upon thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thy enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days' pestilence in thy land? Now consider, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me. |
| [14]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *δαυίδN--NSM πρόςP *γαδN--ASM στενόςA1-NPN ἐγώRP-DS πάντοθενD σφόδραD εἰμίV9-PAI3S ἐνπίπτωVF-FMI1S δήX ἐνP χείρN3-DSF κύριοςN2-GSM ὅτιC πολύςA1-NPM ὁRA-NPM οἰκτιρμόςN2-NPM αὐτόςRD-GSM σφόδραD εἰςP δέX χείρN3-APF ἄνθρωποςN2-GSM οὐD μήD ἐνπίπτωVF-FAI1S καίC ἐκλέγωVAI-AMI3S ἑαυτοῦRD-DSM *δαυίδN--NSM ὁRA-ASM θάνατοςN2-ASM |
[14]And David said to Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man. |
| [15]καίC ἡμέραN1A-NPF θερισμόςN2-GSM πυρόςN2-GPM καίC δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ἐνP *ἰσραήλN--DSM θάνατοςN2-ASM ἀπόP πρωίθενD ἕωςC ὥραN1A-GSF ἄριστονN2N-GSN καίC ἄρχωVAI-AMI3S ὁRA-NSF θραῦσιςN3I-NSF ἐνP ὁRA-DSM λαόςN2-DSM καίC ἀποθνήσκωVBI-AAI3S ἐκP ὁRA-GSM λαόςN2-GSM ἀπόP *δανN--GSM καίC ἕωςC *βηρσαβεεN--GS ἑβδομήκονταM χιλίαςN3D-NPF ἀνήρN3-GPM |
[15]So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beer-sheba seventy thousand men. |
| [16]καίC ἐκτείνωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM ἄγγελοςN2-NSM ὁRA-GSM θεόςN2-GSM ὁRA-ASF χείρN3-ASF αὐτόςRD-GSM εἰςP *ἰερουσαλήμN--ASF ὁRA-GSN διαφθείρωVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-ASF καίC παρακαλέωVCI-API3S κύριοςN2-NSM ἐπίP ὁRA-DSF κακίαN1A-DSF καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-DSM ἄγγελοςN2-DSM ὁRA-DSM διαφθείρωV1-PAPDSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSM λαόςN2-DSM πολύςA3-NSN νῦνD ἀναἵημιVB-AAD2S ὁRA-ASF χείρN3-ASF σύRP-GS καίC ὁRA-NSM ἄγγελοςN2-NSM κύριοςN2-GSM εἰμίV9-IAI3S παράP ὁRA-DSM ἅλωνN3-DSM *ορναN--GSM ὁRA-GSM *ιεβουσαῖοςN2-GSM |
[16]And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thy hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshing-place of Araunah the Jebusite. |
| [17]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *δαυίδN--NSM πρόςP κύριοςN2-ASM ἐνP ὁRA-DSN ὁράωVB-AAN αὐτόςRD-ASM ὁRA-ASM ἄγγελοςN2-ASM τύπτωV1-PAPASM ἐνP ὁRA-DSM λαόςN2-DSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ἰδούI ἐγώRP-NS εἰμίV9-PAI1S ἀδικέωVAI-AAI1S καίC ἐγώRP-NS εἰμίV9-PAI1S ὁRA-NSM ποιμήνN3-NSM κακοποιέωVAI-AAI1S καίC οὗτοςRD-NPM ὁRA-NPN πρόβατονN2N-NPN τίςRI-ASN ποιέωVAI-AAI3P γίγνομαιVB-AMD3S δήX ὁRA-NSF χείρN3-NSF σύRP-GS ἐνP ἐγώRP-DS καίC ἐνP ὁRA-DSM οἶκοςN2-DSM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM ἐγώRP-GS |
[17]And David spoke to the LORD when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thy hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father's house. |
| [18]καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S *γαδN--NSM πρόςP *δαυίδN--ASM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSF καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM ἀναβαίνωVZ-AAD2S καίC ἵστημιVA-AAD2S ὁRA-DSM κύριοςN2-DSM θυσιαστήριονN2N-ASN ἐνP ὁRA-DSM ἅλωνN3W-DSM *ορναN--GSM ὁRA-GSM *ιεβουσαῖοςN2-GSM |
[18]And Gad came that day to David, and said to him, Go up, rear an altar to the LORD in the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite. |
| [19]καίC ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3S *δαυίδN--NSM κατάP ὁRA-ASM λόγοςN2-ASM *γαδN--GSM κατάP ὅςRR-ASM τρόποςN2-ASM ἐντέλλωVAI-AMI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM κύριοςN2-NSM |
[19]And David, according to the saying of Gad, went up as the LORD commanded. |
| [20]καίC διακύπτωVAI-AAI3S *ορναN--NSM καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASM βασιλεύςN3V-ASM καίC ὁRA-APM παῖςN3D-APM αὐτόςRD-GSM παραπορεύομαιV1-PMPAPM ἐπάνωD αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S *ορναN--NSM καίC προςκυνέωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-DSM βασιλεύςN3V-DSM ἐπίP πρόσωπονN2N-ASN αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐπίP ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF |
[20]And Araunah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming towards him: And Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king on his face upon the ground. |
| [21]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *ορναN--NSM τίςRI-NSN ὅτιC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM κύριοςN2-NSM ἐγώRP-GS ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM πρόςP ὁRA-ASM δοῦλοςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *δαυίδN--NSM κτάομαιVA-AMN παράP σύRP-GS ὁRA-ASM ἅλωνN3W-ASM ὁRA-GSN οἰκοδομέωVA-AAN θυσιαστήριονN2N-ASN ὁRA-DSM κύριοςN2-DSM καίC συνἔχωVC-APS3S ὁRA-NSF θραῦσιςN3I-NSF ἐπάνωD ὁRA-GSM λαόςN2-GSM |
[21]And Araunah said, Why is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshing-floor of thee, to build an altar to the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people. |
| [22]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *ορναN--NSM πρόςP *δαυίδN--ASM λαμβάνωVB-AAD3S καίC ἀναφέρωVB-AAD3S ὁRA-NSM κύριοςN2-NSM ἐγώRP-GS ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM ὁRA-DSM κύριοςN2-DSM ὁRA-ASN ἀγαθόςA1-ASN ἐνP ὀφθαλμόςN2-DPM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἰδούI ὁRA-NPM βοῦςN3-NPM εἰςP ὁλοκαύτωμαN3M-ASN καίC ὁRA-NPM τροχόςN2-NPM καίC ὁRA-NPN σκεῦοςN3E-NPN ὁRA-GPM βοῦςN3-GPM εἰςP ξύλονN2N-APN |
[22]And Araunah said to David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seemeth good to him: behold, here are oxen for burnt-sacrifice, and threshing-instruments and other instruments of the oxen for wood. |
| [23]ὁRA-APN πᾶςA3-APN δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S *ορναN--NSM ὁRA-DSM βασιλεύςN3V-DSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *ορναN--NSM πρόςP ὁRA-ASM βασιλεύςN3V-ASM κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM σύRP-GS εὐλογέωVA-AAO3S σύRP-AS |
[23]All these things did Araunah, as a king, give to the king. And Araunah said to the king, The LORD thy God accept thee. |
| [24]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM πρόςP *ορναN--ASM οὐD ὅτιC ἀλλάC κτάομαιV3-PMPNSM κτάομαιVF-FMI1S παράP σύRP-GS ἐνP ἄλλαγμαN3M-DSN καίC οὐD ἀναφέρωVF-FAI1S ὁRA-DSM κύριοςN2-DSM θεόςN2-DSM ἐγώRP-GS ὁλοκαύτωμαN3M-ASN δωρεάN1A-ASF καίC κτάομαιVAI-AMI3S *δαυίδN--NSM ὁRA-ASM ἅλωνN3W-ASM καίC ὁRA-APM βοῦςN3-APM ἐνP ἀργύριονN2N-DSN σίκλοςN2-GPM πεντήκονταM |
[24]And the king said to Araunah, No; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt-offerings to the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshing-floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. |
| [25]καίC οἰκοδομέωVAI-AAI3S ἐκεῖD *δαυίδN--NSM θυσιαστήριονN2N-ASN κύριοςN2-DSM καίC ἀναφέρωVAI-AAI3S ὁλοκαύτωσιςN3I-NPF καίC εἰρηνικόςA1-APF καίC προςτίθημιVAI-AAI3S *σαλωμώνN--NSM ἐπίP ὁRA-ASN θυσιαστήριονN2N-ASN ἐπίP ἔσχατοςA1-DSN ὅτιC μικρόςA1A-NSN εἰμίV9-IAI3S ἐνP πρῶτοςA1-DPNS καίC ἐπιἀκούωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-DSF γῆN1-DSF καίC συνἔχωVCI-API3S ὁRA-NSF θραῦσιςN3I-NSF ἐπάνωθενD *ἰσραήλN--GSM |
[25]And David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings. So the LORD was entreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel. |
