| [1]וַיֹּסֶף עֹוד דָּוִד אֶת־כָּל־בָּחוּר בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל שְׁלֹשִׁים אָלֶף׃ |

| [2]וַיָּקָם וַיֵּלֶךְ דָּוִד וְכָל־הָעָם אֲשֶׁר אִתֹּו מִבַּעֲלֵי יְהוּדָה לְהַעֲלֹות מִשָּׁם אֵת אֲרֹון הָאֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר־נִקְרָא שֵׁם שֵׁם יְהוָה צְבָאֹות יֹשֵׁב הַכְּרֻבִים עָלָיו׃ |
[2]And DavidH1732 aroseH6965[H8799], and wentH3212[H8799] with all the peopleH5971 that were with him from Baale of JudahH1184, to bring upH5927[H8687] from thence the arkH727 of GodH430, whose nameH8034 is calledH7121[H8738] by the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 that dwellethH3427[H8802] between the cherubimsH3742. |
| [3]וַיַּרְכִּבוּ אֶת־אֲרֹון הָאֱלֹהִים אֶל־עֲגָלָה חֲדָשָׁה וַיִּשָּׂאֻהוּ מִבֵּית אֲבִינָדָב אֲשֶׁר בַּגִּבְעָה וְעֻזָּא וְאַחְיֹו בְּנֵי אֲבִינָדָב נֹהֲגִים אֶת־הָעֲגָלָה חֲדָשָׁה׃ |
[3]And they setH7392[H8686] the arkH727 of GodH430 upon a newH2319 cartH5699, and broughtH5375[H8799] it out of the houseH1004 of AbinadabH41 that was in GibeahH1390: and UzzahH5798 and AhioH283, the sonsH1121 of AbinadabH41, draveH5090[H8802] the newH2319 cartH5699. |
| [4]וַיִּשָּׂאֻהוּ מִבֵּית אֲבִינָדָב אֲשֶׁר בַּגִּבְעָה עִם אֲרֹון הָאֱלֹהִים וְאַחְיֹו הֹלֵךְ לִפְנֵי הָאָרֹון׃ |
[4]And they broughtH5375[H8799] it out of the houseH1004 of AbinadabH41 which was at GibeahH1390, accompanyingH5973 the arkH727 of GodH430: and AhioH283 wentH1980[H8802] beforeH6440 the arkH727. |
| [5]וְדָוִד וְכָל־בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל מְשַׂחֲקִים לִפְנֵי יְהוָה בְּכֹל עֲצֵי בְרֹושִׁים וּבְכִנֹּרֹות וּבִנְבָלִים וּבְתֻפִּים וּבִמְנַעַנְעִים וּבְצֶלְצֶלִים׃ |
[5]And DavidH1732 and all the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 playedH7832[H8764] beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 on all manner of instruments made of firH1265 woodH6086, even on harpsH3658, and on psalteriesH5035, and on timbrelsH8596, and on cornetsH4517, and on cymbalsH6767. |
| [6]וַיָּבֹאוּ עַד־גֹּרֶן נָכֹון וַיִּשְׁלַח עֻזָּא אֶל־אֲרֹון הָאֱלֹהִים וַיֹּאחֶז בֹּו כִּי שָׁמְטוּ הַבָּקָר׃ |
[6]And when they cameH935[H8799] to Nachon'sH5225 threshingfloorH1637, UzzahH5798 put forthH7971[H8799] his hand to the arkH727 of GodH430, and took holdH270[H8799] of it; for the oxenH1241 shookH8058 itH8804. |
| [7]וַיִּחַר־אַף יְהוָה בְּעֻזָּה וַיַּכֵּהוּ שָׁם הָאֱלֹהִים עַל־הַשַּׁל וַיָּמָת שָׁם עִם אֲרֹון הָאֱלֹהִים׃ |
[7]And the angerH639 of the LORDH3068 was kindledH2734[H8799] against UzzahH5798; and GodH430 smoteH5221[H8686] him there for his errorH7944; and there he diedH4191[H8799] by the arkH727 of GodH430. |
| [8]וַיִּחַר לְדָוִד עַל אֲשֶׁר פָּרַץ יְהוָה פֶּרֶץ בְּעֻזָּה וַיִּקְרָא לַמָּקֹום הַהוּא פֶּרֶץ עֻזָּה עַד הַיֹּום הַזֶּה׃ |
[8]And DavidH1732 was displeasedH2734[H8799], because the LORDH3068 had madeH6555[H8804] a breachH6556 upon UzzahH5798: and he calledH7121[H8799] the name of the placeH4725 PerezuzzahH6560 to this dayH3117. |
| [9]וַיִּרָא דָוִד אֶת־יְהוָה בַּיֹּום הַהוּא וַיֹּאמֶר אֵיךְ יָבֹוא אֵלַי אֲרֹון יְהוָה׃ |
[9]And DavidH1732 was afraidH3372[H8799] of the LORDH3068 that dayH3117, and saidH559[H8799], How shall the arkH727 of the LORDH3068 comeH935 to meH8799? |
| [10]וְלֹא־אָבָה דָוִד לְהָסִיר אֵלָיו אֶת־אֲרֹון יְהוָה עַל־עִיר דָּוִד וַיַּטֵּהוּ דָוִד בֵּית עֹבֵד־אֱדֹום הַגִּתִּי׃ |
[10]So DavidH1732 wouldH14[H8804] not removeH5493[H8687] the arkH727 of the LORDH3068 unto him into the cityH5892 of DavidH1732: but DavidH1732 carried it asideH5186[H8686] into the houseH1004 of ObededomH5654 the GittiteH1663. |
| [11]וַיֵּשֶׁב אֲרֹון יְהוָה בֵּית עֹבֵד אֱדֹם הַגִּתִּי שְׁלֹשָׁה חֳדָשִׁים וַיְבָרֶךְ יְהוָה אֶת־עֹבֵד אֱדֹם וְאֶת־כָּל־בֵּיתֹו׃ |
[11]And the arkH727 of the LORDH3068 continuedH3427[H8799] in the houseH1004 of ObededomH5654 the GittiteH1663 threeH7969 monthsH2320: and the LORDH3068 blessedH1288[H8762] ObededomH5654, and all his householdH1004. |
| [12]וַיֻּגַּד לַמֶּלֶךְ דָּוִד לֵאמֹר בֵּרַךְ יְהוָה אֶת־בֵּית עֹבֵד אֱדֹם וְאֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־לֹו בַּעֲבוּר אֲרֹון הָאֱלֹהִים וַיֵּלֶךְ דָּוִד וַיַּעַל אֶת־אֲרֹון הָאֱלֹהִים מִבֵּית עֹבֵד אֱדֹם עִיר דָּוִד בְּשִׂמְחָה׃ |
[12]And it was toldH5046[H8714] kingH4428 DavidH1732, sayingH559[H8800], The LORDH3068 hath blessedH1288[H8765] the houseH1004 of ObededomH5654, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the arkH727 of GodH430. So DavidH1732 wentH3212[H8799] and brought upH5927[H8686] the arkH727 of GodH430 from the houseH1004 of ObededomH5654 into the cityH5892 of DavidH1732 with gladnessH8057. |
| [13]וַיְהִי כִּי צָעֲדוּ נֹשְׂאֵי אֲרֹון־יְהוָה שִׁשָּׁה צְעָדִים וַיִּזְבַּח שֹׁור וּמְרִיא׃ |
[13]And it was so, that when they that bareH5375[H8802] the arkH727 of the LORDH3068 had goneH6805[H8804] sixH8337 pacesH6806, he sacrificedH2076[H8799] oxenH7794 and fatlingsH4806. |
| [14]וְדָוִד מְכַרְכֵּר בְּכָל־עֹז לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וְדָוִד חָגוּר אֵפֹוד בָּד׃ |
[14]And DavidH1732 dancedH3769[H8772] beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 with all his mightH5797; and DavidH1732 was girdedH2296[H8803] with a linenH906 ephodH646. |
| [15]וְדָוִד וְכָל־בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל מַעֲלִים אֶת־אֲרֹון יְהוָה בִּתְרוּעָה וּבְקֹול שֹׁופָר׃ |
[15]So DavidH1732 and all the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 brought upH5927[H8688] the arkH727 of the LORDH3068 with shoutingH8643, and with the soundH6963 of the trumpetH7782. |
| [16]וְהָיָה אֲרֹון יְהוָה בָּא עִיר דָּוִד וּמִיכַל בַּת־שָׁאוּל נִשְׁקְפָה בְּעַד הַחַלֹּון וַתֵּרֶא אֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְ דָּוִד מְפַזֵּז וּמְכַרְכֵּר לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וַתִּבֶז לֹו בְּלִבָּהּ׃ |
[16]And as the arkH727 of the LORDH3068 cameH935[H8802] into the cityH5892 of DavidH1732, MichalH4324 Saul'sH7586 daughterH1323 lookedH8259[H8738] through a windowH2474, and sawH7200[H8799] kingH4428 DavidH1732 leapingH6339[H8764] and dancingH3769[H8772] beforeH6440 the LORDH3068; and she despisedH959[H8799] him in her heartH3820. |
| [17]וַיָּבִאוּ אֶת־אֲרֹון יְהוָה וַיַּצִּגוּ אֹתֹו בִּמְקֹומֹו בְּתֹוךְ הָאֹהֶל אֲשֶׁר נָטָה־לֹו דָּוִד וַיַּעַל דָּוִד עֹלֹות לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וּשְׁלָמִים׃ |
[17]And they broughtH935[H8686] in the arkH727 of the LORDH3068, and setH3322[H8686] it in his placeH4725, in the midstH8432 of the tabernacleH168 that DavidH1732 had pitchedH5186[H8804] for it: and DavidH1732 offeredH5927[H8686] burnt offeringsH5930 and peace offeringsH8002 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068. |
| [18]וַיְכַל דָּוִד מֵהַעֲלֹות הָעֹולָה וְהַשְּׁלָמִים וַיְבָרֶךְ אֶת־הָעָם בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה צְבָאֹות׃ |
[18]And as soon as DavidH1732 had made an endH3615[H8762] of offeringH5927[H8687] burnt offeringsH5930 and peace offeringsH8002, he blessedH1288[H8762] the peopleH5971 in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. |
| [19]וַיְחַלֵּק לְכָל־הָעָם לְכָל־הֲמֹון יִשְׂרָאֵל לְמֵאִישׁ וְעַד־אִשָּׁה לְאִישׁ חַלַּת לֶחֶם אַחַת וְאֶשְׁפָּר אֶחָד וַאֲשִׁישָׁה אֶחָת וַיֵּלֶךְ כָּל־הָעָם אִישׁ לְבֵיתֹו׃ |
[19]And he dealtH2505[H8762] among all the peopleH5971, even among the whole multitudeH1995 of IsraelH3478, as well to the womenH802 as menH376, to every oneH376 aH259 cakeH2471 of breadH3899, and a good pieceH829 of flesh, and a flagonH809 of wine. So all the peopleH5971 departedH3212[H8799] every oneH376 to his houseH1004. |
| [20]וַיָּשָׁב דָּוִד לְבָרֵךְ אֶת־בֵּיתֹו וַתֵּצֵא מִיכַל בַּת־שָׁאוּל לִקְרַאת דָּוִד וַתֹּאמֶר מַה־נִּכְבַּד הַיֹּום מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר נִגְלָה הַיֹּום לְעֵינֵי אַמְהֹות עֲבָדָיו כְּהִגָּלֹות נִגְלֹות אַחַד הָרֵקִים׃ |
[20]Then DavidH1732 returnedH7725[H8799] to blessH1288[H8763] his householdH1004. And MichalH4324 the daughterH1323 of SaulH7586 came outH3318[H8799] to meetH7125[H8800] DavidH1732, and saidH559[H8799], How gloriousH3513[H8738] was the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 to dayH3117, who uncoveredH1540[H8738] himself to dayH3117 in the eyesH5869 of the handmaidsH519 of his servantsH5650, as oneH259 of the vain fellowsH7386 shamelesslyH1540[H8736] uncoverethH1540 himselfH8736! |
| [21]וַיֹּאמֶר דָּוִד אֶל־מִיכַל לִפְנֵי יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר בָּחַר־בִּי מֵאָבִיךְ וּמִכָּל־בֵּיתֹו לְצַוֹּת אֹתִי נָגִיד עַל־עַם יְהוָה עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵל וְשִׂחַקְתִּי לִפְנֵי יְהוָה׃ |
[21]And DavidH1732 saidH559[H8799] unto MichalH4324, It was beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, which choseH977[H8804] me before thy fatherH1, and before all his houseH1004, to appointH6680[H8763] me rulerH5057 over the peopleH5971 of the LORDH3068, over IsraelH3478: therefore will I playH7832[H8765] beforeH6440 the LORDH3068. |
| [22]וּנְקַלֹּתִי עֹוד מִזֹּאת וְהָיִיתִי שָׁפָל בְּעֵינָי וְעִם־הָאֲמָהֹות אֲשֶׁר אָמַרְתְּ עִםָּם אִכָּבֵדָה׃ |
[22]And I will yet be more vileH7043[H8738] than thusH2063, and will be baseH8217 in mine own sightH5869: and of the maidservantsH519 which thou hast spokenH559[H8804] of, of them shall I be had in honourH3513.[H8735] |
| [23]וּלְמִיכַל בַּת־שָׁאוּל לֹא־הָיָה לָהּ יָלֶד עַד יֹום מֹותָהּ׃ |
[23]Therefore MichalH4324 the daughterH1323 of SaulH7586 had no childH2056[H8675][H3206] unto the dayH3117 of her deathH4194. |
