[1]And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake? |
| [2]And there was of the houseH1004 of SaulH7586 a servantH5650 whose nameH8034 was ZibaH6717. And when they had calledH7121[H8799] him unto DavidH1732, the kingH4428 saidH559[H8799] unto him, Art thou ZibaH6717? And he saidH559[H8799], Thy servant is heH5650. |
[2]And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him to David, the king said to him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he. |
| [3]And the kingH4428 saidH559[H8799], Is there notH657 yet anyH376 of the houseH1004 of SaulH7586, that I may shewH6213[H8799] the kindnessH2617 of GodH430 unto him? And ZibaH6717 saidH559[H8799] unto the kingH4428, JonathanH3083 hath yet a sonH1121, which is lameH5223 on his feetH7272. |
[3]And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God to him? and Ziba said to the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, who is lame in his feet. |
| [4]And the kingH4428 saidH559[H8799] unto him, WhereH375 is he? And ZibaH6717 saidH559[H8799] unto the kingH4428, Behold, he is in the houseH1004 of MachirH4353, the sonH1121 of AmmielH5988, in LodebarH3810. |
[4]And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar. |
| [5]Then kingH4428 DavidH1732 sentH7971[H8799], and fetchedH3947[H8799] him out of the houseH1004 of MachirH4353, the sonH1121 of AmmielH5988, from LodebarH3810. |
[5]Then king David sent, and brought him from the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar. |
| [6]Now when MephiboshethH4648, the sonH1121 of JonathanH3083, the sonH1121 of SaulH7586, was comeH935[H8799] unto DavidH1732, he fellH5307[H8799] on his faceH6440, and did reverenceH7812[H8691]. And DavidH1732 saidH559[H8799], MephiboshethH4648. And he answeredH559[H8799], Behold thy servantH5650! |
[6]Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant! |
| [7]And DavidH1732 saidH559[H8799] unto him, FearH3372[H8799] not: for I will surelyH6213[H8800] shewH6213[H8799] thee kindnessH2617 for JonathanH3083 thy father'sH1 sake, and will restoreH7725[H8689] thee all the landH7704 of SaulH7586 thy fatherH1; and thou shalt eatH398[H8799] breadH3899 at my tableH7979 continuallyH8548. |
[7]And David said to him, Fear not: for I will surely show thee kindness for the sake of Jonathan thy father, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually. |
| [8]And he bowedH7812[H8691] himself, and saidH559[H8799], What is thy servantH5650, that thou shouldest lookH6437[H8804] upon such a deadH4191[H8801] dog as I amH3611? |
[8]And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldst look upon such a dead dog as I am? |
| [9]Then the kingH4428 calledH7121[H8799] to ZibaH6717, Saul'sH7586 servantH5288, and saidH559[H8799] unto him, I have givenH5414[H8804] unto thy master'sH113 sonH1121 all that pertainedH1961[H8804] to SaulH7586 and to all his houseH1004. |
[9]Then the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said to him, I have given to thy master's son all that pertained to Saul, and to all his house. |
| [10]Thou therefore, and thy sonsH1121, and thy servantsH5650, shall tillH5647[H8804] the landH127 for him, and thou shalt bringH935[H8689] in the fruits, that thy master'sH113 sonH1121 may have foodH3899 to eatH398[H8804]: but MephiboshethH4648 thy master'sH113 sonH1121 shall eatH398[H8799] breadH3899 alwayH8548 at my tableH7979. Now ZibaH6717 had fifteenH2568[H6240] sonsH1121 and twentyH6242 servantsH5650. |
[10]Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master's son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread always at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants. |

As for MephiboshethH4648, said the king, he shall eatH398[H8802] at my tableH7979, as oneH259 of the king'sH4428 sonsH1121. |
[11]Then said Ziba to the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons. |
| [12]And MephiboshethH4648 had a youngH6996 sonH1121, whose nameH8034 was MichaH4316. And all that dweltH4186 in the houseH1004 of ZibaH6717 were servantsH5650 unto MephiboshethH4648. |
[12]And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micah. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants to Mephibosheth. |
| [13]So MephiboshethH4648 dweltH3427[H8802] in JerusalemH3389: for he did eatH398[H8802] continuallyH8548 at the king'sH4428 tableH7979; and was lameH6455 on bothH8147 his feetH7272. |
[13]So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he ate continually at the king's table; and was lame in both his feet. |
