| [1]In that but time laying was hands on people who were in the churches so as to do evil to them Herodus the King he who surnamed was Agrippus |
[1]Κατ̕ ἐκεῖνον δὲ τὸν καιρὸν ἐπέβαλεν Ἡρώδης ὁ βασιλεὺς τὰς χεῖρας κακῶσαί τινας τῶν ἀπὸ τῆς ἐκκλησίας. |
| [2]And he murdered with the sword Yaqob the brother of Yokhanan |
[2]ἀνεῖλεν δὲ Ἰάκωβον τὸν ἀδελφὸν Ἰωάνου μαχαίρῃ. |
| [3]And when he saw that pleased this the Judeans proceeding he was to seize also Shimeon Kaypha and they were the days of unleavened bread |
[3]ἰδὼν δὲ ὅτι ἀρεστόν ἐστιν τοῖς Ἰουδαίοις, προσέθετο συλλαβεῖν καὶ Πέτρον, (ἦσαν δὲ ἡμέραι τῶν ἀζύμων), |
| [4]And he arrested him and cast him in a house prisoner and delivered him to sixteen soldiers to guard him that from after Passover he would deliver him to the people of Judea |
[4]ὃν καὶ πιάσας ἔθετο εἰς φυλακήν, παραδοὺς τέσσαρσιν τετραδίοις στρατιωτῶν φυλάσσειν αὐτόν, βουλόμενος μετὰ τὸ πάσχα ἀναγαγεῖν αὐτὸν τῷ λαῷ. |
| [5]And while was Shimeon guarded he was in the house prisoner prayer continual offered was by the church for him to Alaha |
[5]ὁ μὲν οὖν Πέτρος ἐτηρεῖτο ἐν τῇ φυλακῇ· προσευχὴ δὲ ἦν ἐκτενῶς γινομένη ὑπὸ τῆς ἐκκλησίας πρὸς τὸν θεὸν περὶ αὐτοῦ. |
| [6]And in it in that night when toward dawn going he was to hand him over while asleep was Shimeon between two soldiers and bound he was in two chains and the others keeping they were the gate of the house prisoner |
[6]ὅτε δὲ ἤμελλεν προάγειν αὐτὸν ὁ Ἡρώδης, τῇ νυκτὶ ἐκείνῃ ἦν ὁ Πέτρος κοιμώμενος μεταξὺ δύο στρατιωτῶν δεδεμένος ἁλύσεσιν δυσίν, φύλακές τε πρὸ τῆς θύρας ἐτήρουν τὴν φυλακήν. |
| [7]The Angel of the Lord stood over him and the light shone in the entire place and he jabbed him in his side and he raised him up and he said to him arise quickly and fell the chains from his hands |
[7]καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄγγελος κυρίου ἐπέστη, καὶ φῶς ἔλαμψεν ἐν τῷ οἰκήματι· πατάξας δὲ τὴν πλευρὰν τοῦ Πέτρου, ἤγειρεν αὐτὸν λέγων, Ἀνάστα ἐν τάχει. καὶ ἐξέπεσαν αὐτοῦ αἱ ἁλύσεις ἐκ τῶν χειρῶν. |
| [8]And said to him The Angel wrap your garment around your waist and put on your sandals and he did thus and again he said to him wrap your cloak and come after me |
[8]εἶπεν δὲ ὁ ἄγγελος πρὸς αὐτόν, Ζῶσαι καὶ ὑπόδησαι τὰ σανδάλιά σου. ἐποίησεν δὲ οὕτως. καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ, Περιβαλοῦ τὸ ἱμάτιόν σου, καὶ ἀκολούθει μοι. |
| [9]And he went out and going he was after him when not he knew it was real was that which happening was by the hand of The Angel thought he for that a vision seeing he was |
[9]καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἠκολούθει· καὶ οὐκ ᾔδει ὅτι ἀληθές ἐστιν τὸ γινόμενον διὰ τοῦ ἀγγέλου, ἐδόκει δὲ ὅραμα βλέπειν. |
| [10]And when they passed the watch the first and the second they came unto the gate of iron and it opened to them from will its own and when they went forth and they passed street one departed from him The Angel |
[10]διελθόντες δὲ πρώτην φυλακὴν καὶ δευτέραν ἦλθαν ἐπὶ τὴν πύλην τὴν σιδηρᾶν τὴν φέρουσαν εἰς τὴν πόλιν, ἥτις αὐτομάτη ἠνοίγη αὐτοῖς, καὶ ἐξελθόντες προῆλθον ῥύμην μίαν, καὶ εὐθέως ἀπέστη ὁ ἄγγελος ἀπ̕ αὐτοῦ. |
| [11]Then realized Shimeon and said now I know in truth that the Lord has sent His Angel and has saved me from the hand of Herodus the King and from the thing that plotting were against me the Judeans |
[11]καὶ ὁ Πέτρος ἐν ἑαυτῷ γενόμενος εἶπεν, Νῦν οἶδα ἀληθῶς ὅτι ἐξαπέστειλεν κύριος τὸν ἄγγελον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξείλατό με ἐκ χειρὸς Ἡρώδου καὶ πάσης τῆς προσδοκίας τοῦ λαοῦ τῶν Ἰουδαίων. |
| [12]And as he considered he came to it the house of Mary the mother of Yokhanan him who was surnamed Marqus because brethren many there gathered were and praying |
[12]συνιδών τε ἦλθεν ἐπὶ τὴν οἰκίαν τῆς Μαρίας τῆς μητρὸς Ἰωάνου τοῦ ἐπικαλουμένου Μάρκου, οὗ ἦσαν ἱκανοὶ συνηθροισμένοι καὶ προσευχόμενοι. |
| [13]And he knocked at the door of the courtyard and went out to answer it a girl whose name was Roda |
[13]κρούσαντος δὲ αὐτοῦ τὴν θύραν τοῦ πυλῶνος προσῆλθεν παιδίσκη ὑπακοῦσαι, ὀνόματι Ῥόδη· |
| [14]And she recognized the voice of Shimeon and in her joy not she opened to him the door but she returned while running and saying to them Shimeon behold he stands at the door of the courtyard |
[14]καὶ ἐπιγνοῦσα τὴν φωνὴν τοῦ Πέτρου, ἀπὸ τῆς χαρᾶς οὐκ ἤνοιξεν τὸν πυλῶνα, εἰσδραμοῦσα δὲ ἀπήγγειλεν ἑστάναι τὸν Πέτρον πρὸ τοῦ πυλῶνος. |
| [15]They were saying to her ? are unstable you and she protesting was that this so was they were saying to her perhaps his messenger it is |
[15]οἱ δὲ πρὸς αὐτὴν εἶπαν, Μαίνῃ. ἡ δὲ διϊσχυρίζετο οὕτως ἔχειν. οἱ δὲ ἔλεγον, Ὁ ἄγγελός ἐστιν αὐτοῦ. |
| [16]And Shimeon knocking was at the gate and they went out they saw him and they marveled among themselves |
[16]ὁ δὲ Πέτρος ἐπέμενεν κρούων· ἀνοίξαντες δὲ εἶδαν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐξέστησαν. |
| [17]And gesturing he was to them with his hand so as to silence them and he entered and related to them how the Lord brought him out from the house prisoner and he said to them relate these things to Yaqob and to the brethren and he went out went he to place another |
[17]κατασείσας δὲ αὐτοῖς τῇ χειρὶ σιγᾶν, διηγήσατο [αὐτοῖς] πῶς ὁ κύριος αὐτὸν ἐξήγαγεν ἐκ τῆς φυλακῆς· εἶπέν τε, Ἀπαγγείλατε Ἰακώβῳ καὶ τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς ταῦτα. καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἐπορεύθη εἰς ἕτερον τόπον. |
| [18]And when it was morning there was an uproar great among the soldiers about Shimeon what? had happened to him |
[18]γενομένης δὲ ἡμέρας, ἦν τάραχος οὐκ ὀλίγος ἐν τοῖς στρατιώταις, τί ἄρα ὁ Πέτρος ἐγένετο. |
| [19]Herodus but when searched for him and not found him he judged them the guards and ordered to execute them and went out he from Judea and remaining he was in Qesaria |
[19]Ἡρώδης δὲ ἐπιζητήσας αὐτὸν καὶ μὴ εὑρών ἀνακρίνας τοὺς φύλακας ἐκέλευσεν ἀπαχθῆναι, καὶ κατελθὼν ἀπὸ τῆς Ἰουδαίας εἰς Καισάρειαν διέτριβεν. |
| [20]And because at enmity he was against the Tsurians and against the Tsidonians they gathered and they came to him as one and they persuaded Blastus the Chamberlain of The King and they asked of him that there be for them a peace treaty because the sustenance of their countries from the kingdom was of Herodus |
[20]ἦν δὲ θυμομαχῶν Τυρίοις καὶ Σιδωνίοις· ὁμοθυμαδὸν δὲ παρῆσαν πρὸς αὐτόν, καὶ πείσαντες Βλάστον τὸν ἐπὶ τοῦ κοιτῶνος τοῦ βασιλέως ᾐτοῦντο εἰρήνην, διὰ τὸ τρέφεσθαι αὐτῶν τὴν χώραν ἀπὸ τῆς βασιλικῆς. |

[21]τακτῇ δὲ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ Ἡρώδης ἐνδυσάμενος ἐσθῆτα βασιλικὴν [καὶ] καθίσας ἐπὶ τοῦ βήματος ἐδημηγόρει πρὸς αὐτούς. |
| [22]The people but all crying out were and said these daughter voice of Alaha are and not are of children of men |
[22]ὁ δὲ δῆμος ἐπεφώνει, Θεοῦ φωνὴ καὶ οὐκ ἀνθρώπου. |
| [23]And because that not he gave the glory to Alaha in it in the hour struck him The Angel of the Lord and he was infested with worms and he died |
[23]παραχρῆμα δὲ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν ἄγγελος κυρίου ἀνθ̕ ὧν οὐκ ἔδωκεν τὴν δόξαν τῷ θεῷ, καὶ γενόμενος σκωληκόβρωτος ἐξέψυξεν. |
| [24]And the gospel of Alaha proclaimed was and it grew |
[24]Ὁ δὲ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ ηὔξανεν καὶ ἐπληθύνετο. |
| [25]BarNaba but and Shaul returned from Jerusalem to Antiokai from after they finished their service and took with them Yokhanan he who was surnamed Marqus |
[25]Βαρνάβας δὲ καὶ Σαῦλος ὑπέστρεψαν ἐξ Ἱερουσαλήμ, πληρώσαντες τὴν διακονίαν, συμπαραλαβόντες Ἰωάνην τὸν ἐπικληθέντα Μάρκον. |
