PesNT(Mur)
[1]ησαν δε τινες εν αντιοχεια κατα την ουσαν εκκλησιαν προφηται και διδασκαλοι ο τε βαρναβας και συμεων ο καλουμενος νιγερ και λουκιος ο κυρηναιος μαναην τε ηρωδου του τετραρχου συντροφος και σαυλος [1]Now there were in the church at Antioch, [several] prophets and teachers; Barnabas, and Simon called Niger, and Lucius who was from the city Cyrene, and Menaen, a son of the guardians of Herod the Tetrarch, and Saul.
[2]λειτουργουντων δε αυτων τω κυριω και νηστευοντων ειπεν το πνευμα το αγιον αφορισατε δη μοι τον τε βαρναβαν και τον σαυλον εις το εργον ο προσκεκλημαι αυτους [2]And while they were fasting and making supplication to God, the Holy Spirit said to them: Separate to me Saul and Barnabas, for the work to which I have called them.
[3]τοτε νηστευσαντες και προσευξαμενοι και επιθεντες τας χειρας αυτοις απελυσαν [3]And after they had fasted and prayed, they laid the hand on them, and sent them away.
[4]ουτοι μεν ουν εκπεμφθεντες υπο του πνευματος του αγιου κατηλθον εις την σελευκειαν εκειθεν τε απεπλευσαν εις την κυπρον [4]And they, being sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, and from there they went by sea as far as Cyprus.
[5]και γενομενοι εν σαλαμινι κατηγγελλον τον λογον του θεου εν ταις συναγωγαις των ιουδαιων ειχον δε και ιωαννην υπηρετην [5]And when they entered the city of Salamis, they announced the word of our Lord in the synagogues of the Jews. And John ministered to them.
[6]διελθοντες δε την νησον αχρι παφου ευρον τινα μαγον ψευδοπροφητην ιουδαιον ω ονομα βαριησους [6]And when they had travelled over the whole island as far as the city Paphos, they found a certain man, a sorcerer, a Jew, who was a false prophet, and whose name was Bar-Suma.
[7]ος ην συν τω ανθυπατω σεργιω παυλω ανδρι συνετω ουτος προσκαλεσαμενος βαρναβαν και σαυλον επεζητησεν ακουσαι τον λογον του θεου [7]He adhered to a wise man, who was the proconsul, and was called Sergius Paulus. And the proconsul sent for Saul and Barnabas, and requested to hear from them the word of God.
[8]ανθιστατο δε αυτοις ελυμας ο μαγος ουτως γαρ μεθερμηνευεται το ονομα αυτου ζητων διαστρεψαι τον ανθυπατον απο της πιστεως [8]And this sorcerer, Bar-Suma, (whose name is interpreted, Elymas,) withstood them; because he wished to divert the proconsul from the faith.
[9]σαυλος δε ο και παυλος πλησθεις πνευματος αγιου και ατενισας εις αυτον [9]And Saul who is called Paul, was filled with the Holy Spirit; and he looked upon him,
[10]ειπεν ω πληρης παντος δολου και πασης ραδιουργιας υιε διαβολου εχθρε πασης δικαιοσυνης ου παυση διαστρεφων τας οδους κυριου τας ευθειας [10]and said: O thou full of all subtilties, and all mischiefs, thou child of the calumniator, and enemy of all righteousness; wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
[11]και νυν ιδου χειρ του κυριου επι σε και εση τυφλος μη βλεπων τον ηλιον αχρι καιρου παραχρημα δε επεπεσεν επ αυτον αχλυς και σκοτος και περιαγων εζητει χειραγωγους [11]And now, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, and shalt not see the sun for a time. And immediately there fell upon him a mist and darkness; and he went about, inquiring who would take him by the hand.
[12]τοτε ιδων ο ανθυπατος το γεγονος επιστευσεν εκπλησσομενος επι τη διδαχη του κυριου [12]And when the proconsul saw what occurred, he was astonished; and he believed the doctrine of the Lord.
[13]αναχθεντες δε απο της παφου οι περι τον παυλον ηλθον εις περγην της παμφυλιας ιωαννης δε αποχωρησας απ αυτων υπεστρεψεν εις ιεροσολυμα [13]And Paul and Barnabas went by sea, from the city of Paphos, and came to Perga, a city of Pamphylia. And John separated from them, and went away to Jerusalem.
[14]αυτοι δε διελθοντες απο της περγης παρεγενοντο εις αντιοχειαν της πισιδιας και εισελθοντες εις την συναγωγην τη ημερα των σαββατων εκαθισαν [14]And they departed from Perga, and came to Antioch, a city of Pisidia: and they entered the synagogue, on the sabbath day, and sat down.
[15]μετα δε την αναγνωσιν του νομου και των προφητων απεστειλαν οι αρχισυναγωγοι προς αυτους λεγοντες ανδρες αδελφοι ει εστιν λογος εν υμιν παρακλησεως προς τον λαον λεγετε [15]And after the law had been read, and the prophets, the Elders of the synagogue sent to them, and said: Men, brethren, if ye have a word of exhortation, address the people.
[16]αναστας δε παυλος και κατασεισας τη χειρι ειπεν ανδρες ισραηλιται και οι φοβουμενοι τον θεον ακουσατε [16]And Paul arose, and waved his hand, and said: Men, sons of Israel, and ye that fear God, hear ye.
[17]ο θεος του λαου τουτου ισραηλ εξελεξατο τους πατερας ημων και τον λαον υψωσεν εν τη παροικια εν γη αιγυπτω και μετα βραχιονος υψηλου εξηγαγεν αυτους εξ αυτης [17]The God of this people chose our fathers, and raised them up, and multiplied them, when they resided in the land of Egypt; and, with a high arm, he brought them out of it.
[18]και ως τεσσαρακονταετη χρονον ετροποφορησεν αυτους εν τη ερημω [18]And he fed them in the wilderness forty years.
[19]και καθελων εθνη επτα εν γη χανααν κατεκληροδοτησεν αυτοις την γην αυτων [19]And he extirpated seven nations in the land of Canaan, and gave them their land for an inheritance.
[20]και μετα ταυτα ως ετεσιν τετρακοσιοις και πεντηκοντα εδωκεν κριτας εως σαμουηλ του προφητου [20]And for four hundred and fifty years he gave them judges, until Samuel the prophet.
[21]κακειθεν ητησαντο βασιλεα και εδωκεν αυτοις ο θεος τον σαουλ υιον κις ανδρα εκ φυλης βενιαμιν ετη τεσσαρακοντα [21]And then they asked for themselves a king: and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, during forty years.
[22]και μεταστησας αυτον ηγειρεν αυτοις τον δαβιδ εις βασιλεα ω και ειπεν μαρτυρησας ευρον δαβιδ τον του ιεσσαι ανδρα κατα την καρδιαν μου ος ποιησει παντα τα θεληματα μου [22]And he removed him, and raised up to them David as king: and he testified of him, and said: I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my heart: he will do all my pleasure.
[23]τουτου ο θεος απο του σπερματος κατ επαγγελιαν ηγειρεν τω ισραηλ σωτηρα ιησουν [23]From the seed of this man, hath God raised up to Israel, as he promised, Jesus a deliverer.
[24]προκηρυξαντος ιωαννου προ προσωπου της εισοδου αυτου βαπτισμα μετανοιας παντι τω λαω ισραηλ [24]And, before his advent, he sent John to proclaim the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
[25]ως δε επληρου ο ιωαννης τον δρομον ελεγεν τινα με υπονοειτε ειναι ουκ ειμι εγω αλλ ιδου ερχεται μετ εμε ου ουκ ειμι αξιος το υποδημα των ποδων λυσαι [25]And while John was fulfilling his ministry, he said: Who, suppose ye, that I am? I am not he. But lo, he cometh after me; of whom I am not worthy to untie his shoe-strings.
[26]ανδρες αδελφοι υιοι γενους αβρααμ και οι εν υμιν φοβουμενοι τον θεον υμιν ο λογος της σωτηριας ταυτης απεσταλη [26]Men, brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and all who, with you, fear God, to you is this word of life sent.
[27]οι γαρ κατοικουντες εν ιερουσαλημ και οι αρχοντες αυτων τουτον αγνοησαντες και τας φωνας των προφητων τας κατα παν σαββατον αναγινωσκομενας κριναντες επληρωσαν [27]For, those inhabitants of Jerusalem and their chiefs, did not apprehend it; neither [did they apprehend] also the writings of the prophets, which are read every sabbath; but they condemned him, and fulfilled all the things written.
[28]και μηδεμιαν αιτιαν θανατου ευροντες ητησαντο πιλατον αναιρεθηναι αυτον [28]And while they found no ground for [his] death, they desired of Pilate that they might kill him.
[29]ως δε ετελεσαν απαντα τα περι αυτου γεγραμμενα καθελοντες απο του ξυλου εθηκαν εις μνημειον [29]And when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning him, they took him down from the cross, and laid him in a sepulchre.
[30]ο δε θεος ηγειρεν αυτον εκ νεκρων [30]But God raised him from the dead.
[31]ος ωφθη επι ημερας πλειους τοις συναναβασιν αυτω απο της γαλιλαιας εις ιερουσαλημ οιτινες εισιν μαρτυρες αυτου προς τον λαον [31]And he was seen many days, by them who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem; and they are now his witnesses to the people.
[32]και ημεις υμας ευαγγελιζομεθα την προς τους πατερας επαγγελιαν γενομενην [32]And lo, we also announce to you, that the promise, which was made to our fathers,
[33]οτι ταυτην ο θεος εκπεπληρωκεν τοις τεκνοις αυτων ημιν αναστησας ιησουν ως και εν τω ψαλμω τω δευτερω γεγραπται υιος μου ει συ εγω σημερον γεγεννηκα σε [33]lo, God hath fulfilled it to us their children, in that he raised up Jesus; as it is written in the second psalm: Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
[34]οτι δε ανεστησεν αυτον εκ νεκρων μηκετι μελλοντα υποστρεφειν εις διαφθοραν ουτως ειρηκεν οτι δωσω υμιν τα οσια δαβιδ τα πιστα [34]And God hath so raised him from the dead, that he will not return again and see corruption; as he said: I will give to you the sure grace of David.
[35]διο και εν ετερω λεγει ου δωσεις τον οσιον σου ιδειν διαφθοραν [35]And again he said, in another place: Thou hast not given thy devout one to see corruption.
[36]δαβιδ μεν γαρ ιδια γενεα υπηρετησας τη του θεου βουλη εκοιμηθη και προσετεθη προς τους πατερας αυτου και ειδεν διαφθοραν [36]For David, in his generation, served the pleasure of God, and went to rest, and was added to his fathers, and saw corruption.
[37]ον δε ο θεος ηγειρεν ουκ ειδεν διαφθοραν [37]But this person, whom God raised up, did not see corruption.
[38]γνωστον ουν εστω υμιν ανδρες αδελφοι οτι δια τουτου υμιν αφεσις αμαρτιων καταγγελλεται [38]Know therefore, brethren, that through this man remission of sins is proclaimed to you.
[39]και απο παντων ων ουκ ηδυνηθητε εν τω νομω μωσεως δικαιωθηναι εν τουτω πας ο πιστευων δικαιουται [39]And every one that believeth in this man, is made just from all things, from which ye could not be made just by the law of Moses.
[40]βλεπετε ουν μη επελθη εφ υμας το ειρημενον εν τοις προφηταις [40]Beware, therefore, lest that come upon you, which is written in the prophets:
[41]ιδετε οι καταφρονηται και θαυμασατε και αφανισθητε οτι εργον εγω εργαζομαι εν ταις ημεραις υμων εργον ω ου μη πιστευσητε εαν τις εκδιηγηται υμιν [41]Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish; for I work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though a man relate it to you.
[42]εξιοντων δε εκ της συναγωγης των ιουδαιων παρεκαλουν τα εθνη εις το μεταξυ σαββατον λαληθηναι αυτοις τα ρηματα ταυτα [42]And when they had gone from them, they besought them to speak the same things to them the next sabbath day.
[43]λυθεισης δε της συναγωγης ηκολουθησαν πολλοι των ιουδαιων και των σεβομενων προσηλυτων τω παυλω και τω βαρναβα οιτινες προσλαλουντες αυτοις επειθον αυτους επιμενειν τη χαριτι του θεου [43]And when the synagogue was dismissed, many Jews went after them, and likewise proselytes who feared God. And they conversed with them, and persuaded them to adhere to the grace of God.
[44]τω δε ερχομενω σαββατω σχεδον πασα η πολις συνηχθη ακουσαι τον λογον του θεου [44]And the next sabbath, the whole city assembled to hear the word of God.
[45]ιδοντες δε οι ιουδαιοι τους οχλους επλησθησαν ζηλου και αντελεγον τοις υπο του παυλου λεγομενοις αντιλεγοντες και βλασφημουντες [45]And when the Jews saw the great assembly, they were filled with envy, and set them selves against the words which Paul spoke, and blasphemed.
[46]παρρησιασαμενοι δε ο παυλος και ο βαρναβας ειπον υμιν ην αναγκαιον πρωτον λαληθηναι τον λογον του θεου επειδη δε απωθεισθε αυτον και ουκ αξιους κρινετε εαυτους της αιωνιου ζωης ιδου στρεφομεθα εις τα εθνη [46]And Paul and Barnabas said openly: To you first, ought the word of God to be spoken; but because ye repel it from you, and decide, against yourselves, that ye are not worthy of life eternal, lo, we turn ourselves to the Gentiles.
[47]ουτως γαρ εντεταλται ημιν ο κυριος τεθεικα σε εις φως εθνων του ειναι σε εις σωτηριαν εως εσχατου της γης [47]For so hath our Lord commanded us; as it is written: I have set thee a light to the Gentiles; that thou shouldst be for life unto the ends of the earth.
[48]ακουοντα δε τα εθνη εχαιρον και εδοξαζον τον λογον του κυριου και επιστευσαν οσοι ησαν τεταγμενοι εις ζωην αιωνιον [48]And when the Gentiles heard [this], they rejoiced and glorified God. And those believed, who were appointed to life eternal.
[49]διεφερετο δε ο λογος του κυριου δι ολης της χωρας [49]And the word of the Lord was talked of in all that region.
[50]οι δε ιουδαιοι παρωτρυναν τας σεβομενας γυναικας και τας ευσχημονας και τους πρωτους της πολεως και επηγειραν διωγμον επι τον παυλον και τον βαρναβαν και εξεβαλον αυτους απο των οριων αυτων [50]But the Jews stirred up the chiefs of the city, and the opulent women who with them feared God, and set up a persecution against Paul and against Barnabas, and expelled them from their borders.
[51]οι δε εκτιναξαμενοι τον κονιορτον των ποδων αυτων επ αυτους ηλθον εις ικονιον [51]And when they went out, they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and went to the city of Iconium.
[52]οι δε μαθηται επληρουντο χαρας και πνευματος αγιου [52]And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Spirit.
