[1]And when came Festus to Qesaria after three days he came up to Jerusalem [1]NowG3767 when FestusG5347 was comeG1910[G5631] into the provinceG1885, afterG3326 threeG5140 daysG2250 he ascendedG305[G5627] fromG575 CaesareaG2542 toG1519 JerusalemG2414.
[2]And informed him The Chief Priests and the Rulers of the Jews concerning Paulus and inquiring they were of him [2]ThenG1161 the high priestG749 andG2532 the chiefG4413 of the JewsG2453 informedG1718[G5656] himG846 againstG2596 PaulG3972, andG2532 besoughtG3870[G5707] himG846,
[3]When they asked him this favor to send to bring him to Jerusalem when making they were an ambush by the road to kill him [3]And desiredG154[G5734] favourG5485 againstG2596 himG846, thatG3704 he would send forG3343[G5667] himG846 toG1519 JerusalemG2419, layingG4160[G5723] waitG1747 inG2596 the wayG3598 to killG337[G5629] himG846.
[4]And Festus returned answer that Paulus is kept in Qesaria and I hurry I to travel [4]ButG3303[G3767] FestusG5347 answeredG611[G5662], that PaulG3972 should be keptG5083[G5745] atG1722 CaesareaG2542, andG1161 that he himselfG1438 wouldG3195[G5721] departG1607[G5738][G1722] shortly thitherG5034.
[5]Those therefore who are among you of whom it has come to their hands to go down with us and upon every offense there is with him with the man to accuse [5]Let them thereforeG3767, saidG5346[G5748] he, which amongG1722 youG5213 are ableG1415, go down withG4782[G5631] me, and accuseG2723[G5720] thisG846 manG435, ifG1536 there beG2076[G5748] any wickednessG1536 inG1722 himG5129.
[6]And when he was there days eight or ten went down he to Qesaria and the day next he sat on the judgment seat and commanded to bring Paulus [6]AndG1161 when he had tarriedG1304[G5660] amongG1722 themG846 moreG4119 thanG2228 tenG1176 daysG2250, he went downG2597[G5631] untoG1519 CaesareaG2542; and the next dayG1887 sittingG2523[G5660] onG1909 the judgment seatG968 commandedG2753[G5656] PaulG3972 to be broughtG71.[G5683]
[7]And when he came surrounded him the Jews who descended from Jerusalem and the Leaders many and hard things brought had after him those things that not able they were to show [7]AndG1161 when heG846 was comeG3854[G5637], the JewsG2453 which came downG2597[G5761] fromG575 JerusalemG2414 stood round aboutG4026[G5627], andG2532 laidG5342[G5723] manyG4183 and grievousG926 complaintsG157 againstG2596 PaulG3972, whichG3739 they couldG2480[G5707] notG3756 proveG584.[G5658]
[8]And when Paulus rendered had a defense that not he had violated anything not the Law of the Jews neither the temple neither Qesar [8]While he answeredG626[G5740] for himselfG846, NeitherG3754[G3777] againstG1519 the lawG3551 of the JewsG2453, neitherG3777 againstG1519 the templeG2411, nor yetG3777 againstG1519 CaesarG2541, have I offendedG264[G5627] any thing at allG5100.
[9]Festus but because wanted he had to confer a favor the Jews said to him to Paulus will you go up to Jerusalem and there on these things be judged before me [9]ButG1161 FestusG5347, willingG2309[G5723] to doG2698[G5641] the JewsG2453 a pleasureG5485, answeredG611[G5679] PaulG3972, and saidG2036[G5627], Wilt thouG2309[G5719] go upG305[G5631] toG1519 JerusalemG2414, and thereG1563 be judgedG2919[G5745] ofG4012 these thingsG5130 beforeG1909 meG1700?
[10]Answered Paulus and said on the judgment seat of Qesar stand I here it is it is right for me to be judged not a thing have I sinned against the Jews as also you know you [10]ThenG1161 saidG2036[G5627] PaulG3972, I standG1510[G5748][G2476][G5761] atG1909 Caesar'sG2541 judgment seatG968, whereG3757 IG3165 oughtG1163[G5748] to be judgedG2919[G5745]: to the JewsG2453 have I doneG91 noG3762 wrongG91[G5656], asG5613[G2532] thouG4771 very wellG2566 knowestG1921.[G5719]
[11]And if an offense was done by me or anything worthy of death not excuse myself I from death if but there is not anything of these things that they accuse me not a man will give me to them as a gift an appeal to Qesar invoke I [11]ForG1063 ifG1487[G3303] I be an offenderG91[G5719], orG2532 have committedG4238[G5758] any thingG5100 worthyG514 of deathG2288, I refuseG3868[G5736] notG3756 to dieG599[G5629]: butG1161 ifG1487 there beG2076[G5748] noneG3762 of these thingsG3739 whereof theseG3778 accuseG2723[G5719] meG3450, no manG3762 mayG1410[G5736] deliverG5483[G5664] meG3165 unto themG846. I appeal untoG1941[G5731] CaesarG2541.
[12]Then Festus spoke with the sons of the kingdom and said an appeal of Qesar you have invoked to Qesar will go you [12]ThenG5119 FestusG5347, when he had conferredG4814[G5660] withG3326 the councilG4824, answeredG611[G5662], Hast thou appealed untoG1941[G5764] CaesarG2541? untoG1909 CaesarG2541 shalt thou goG4198.[G5695]
[13]And when passed days came down Agrippus the king and Berniqa to Qesaria to inquire the welfare of Festus [13]AndG1161 afterG1230[G5637] certainG5100 daysG2250 kingG935 AgrippaG67 andG2532 BerniceG959 cameG2658[G5656] untoG1519 CaesareaG2542 to saluteG782[G5697] FestusG5347.
[14]And when they were with him some days related Festus to The King the case of Paulus when he said man one a prisoner left from the hands of Filix [14]AndG1161 whenG5613 they had beenG1304[G5707] thereG1563 manyG4119 daysG2250, FestusG5347 declaredG394[G5639] Paul'sG3972 causeG2596 unto the kingG935, sayingG3004[G5723], There isG2076[G5748] a certainG5100 manG435 leftG2641[G5772] in bondsG1198 byG5259 FelixG5344:
[15]And when I was in Jerusalem informed me about him The Chief Priests and Elders of the Jews and requested that I make for them a judgment of him [15]AboutG4012 whomG3739, whenG1096 IG3450 wasG1096[G5637] atG1519 JerusalemG2414, the chief priestsG749 andG2532 the eldersG4245 of the JewsG2453 informedG1718[G5656] me, desiringG154[G5734] to have judgmentG1349 againstG2596 himG846.
[16]And I said to them it is not the custom for the Romans to give a son of man as a favor for slaughter until shall come the adversary at law and shall blame him to his face and shall be given to him a place to render a defense concerning that of which he is accused [16]ToG4314 whomG3739 I answeredG611[G5662],[G3754] It isG2076[G5748] notG3756 the mannerG1485 of the RomansG4514 to deliverG5483[G5738] anyG5100 manG444 toG1519 dieG684, beforeG4250 thatG2228 he which is accusedG2723[G5746] haveG2192[G5722] the accusersG2725 face to faceG2596[G4383],[G5037] and haveG2983[G5630] licenceG5117 to answer for himselfG627 concerningG4012 the crime laid against himG1462.
[17]And when I had come here without delay the day next I sat on the judgment and I ordered that they bring him to me the man [17]ThereforeG3767, when theyG846 were comeG4905[G5631] hitherG1759, withoutG4160[G5671] anyG3367 delayG311 on the morrowG1836 I satG2523[G5660] onG1909 the judgment seatG968, and commandedG2753[G5656] the manG435 to be brought forthG71.[G5683]
[18]And stood with him his accusers and not could any indictment evil demonstrate against him like that which supposed I had [18]AgainstG4012 whomG3739 when the accusersG2725 stood upG2476[G5685], they broughtG2018[G5707] noneG3762 accusationG156 of such things asG3739 IG1473 supposedG5282:[G5707]
[19]Inquiries but one thing or another about their religion there is to them with him and about Ieshu a Man Who had died He Whom saying was Paulus that alive He is [19]ButG1161 hadG2192[G5707] certainG5100 questionsG2213 againstG4314 himG846 ofG4012 their ownG2398 superstitionG1175, andG2532 ofG4012 oneG5100 JesusG2424, which was deadG2348[G5761], whomG3739 PaulG3972 affirmedG5335[G5707] to be aliveG2198.[G5721]
[20]And because not established was I about inquiries of these things I said had to Paulus "Do? wish you to go to Jerusalem and there to be judged on these things" [20]AndG1161 because IG1473 doubtedG639[G5734] ofG1519 suchG5127 mannerG4012 of questionsG2214, I askedG3004[G5707] him whetherG1487 he wouldG1014[G5739] goG4198[G5738] toG1519 JerusalemG2419, and thereG2546 be judgedG2919[G5745] ofG4012 these mattersG5130.
[21]He but requested to be kept for the judgment of Qesar and I ordered that he be kept until I send him to Qesar [21]ButG1161 when PaulG3972 had appealedG1941[G5671] to be reservedG5083[G5683][G846] untoG1519 the hearingG1233 of AugustusG4575, I commandedG2753[G5656] himG846 to be keptG5083[G5745] tillG2193[G3739] I might sendG3992[G5661] himG846 toG4314 CaesarG2541.
[22]And said Agrippus like I would to hear him man this and Festus said "Tomorrow will hear you him [22]ThenG1161 AgrippaG67 saidG5346[G5713] untoG4314 FestusG5347, I wouldG1014[G5711] alsoG2532 hearG191[G5658] the manG444 myselfG846. To morrowG839,[G1161] saidG5346[G5748] he, thou shalt hearG191[G5695] himG846.
[23]And the day next came Agrippus and Berniqa with pomp great and entered the place of judgment with The Chiliarch and the leaders of the city and commanded Festus and came Paulus [23]And on the morrowG1887, whenG3767 AgrippaG67 was comeG2064[G5631], andG2532 BerniceG959, withG3326 greatG4183 pompG5325, andG2532 was enteredG1525[G5631] intoG1519 the place of hearingG201, withG4862[G5037] the chief captainsG5506, andG2532 principalG2596[G1851] menG435 ofG5607[G5752] the cityG4172, atG2532 Festus'G5347 commandmentG2753[G5660] PaulG3972 was brought forthG71.[G5681]
[24]And said Festus Agrippus the King and all of you men you who are with us concerning this man whom see you all the people of the Jews complained to me in Jerusalem and here when shouting that no more ought this one to live [24]AndG2532 FestusG5347 saidG5346[G5748], KingG935 AgrippaG67, andG2532 allG3956 menG435 whichG3588 are here presentG4840[G5752] with usG2254, ye seeG2334[G5719] this manG5126, aboutG4012 whomG3739 allG3956 the multitudeG4128 of the JewsG2453 have dealtG1793[G5627] with meG3427, bothG5037 atG1722 JerusalemG2414, andG2532 also hereG1759, cryingG1916[G5723] that he oughtG1163[G5750] notG3361 to liveG2198[G5721] any longerG3371.
[25]I but I have found that anything that is worthy for death not has been done by him and because he asked to be kept for the judgment of Qesar I have commanded that he be sent [25]ButG1161 when IG1473 foundG2638[G5642] that heG846 had committedG4238[G5760] nothingG3367 worthyG514 of deathG2288, andG2532[G1161] that he himselfG846 hath appealedG5127 toG1941[G5671] AugustusG4575, I have determinedG2919[G5656] to sendG3992[G5721] himG846.
[26]And not know I what? to write about him to Qesar because of this I decided to bring him before you and especially before you King Agrippus that when is examined his case I may find what I shall write [26]OfG4012 whomG3739 I haveG2192[G5719] noG3756 certainG804 thingG5100 to writeG1125[G5658] unto my lordG2962. WhereforeG1352 I have broughtG4254 himG846 forthG4254[G5627] beforeG1909 youG5216, andG2532 speciallyG3122 beforeG1909 theeG4675, O kingG935 AgrippaG67, thatG3704, after examinationG351 hadG1096[G5637], I might haveG2192[G5632] somewhatG5100 to writeG1125.[G5658]
[27]Not for it is right that when we send a man a prisoner that not we would write his offense [27]ForG1063 it seemethG1380[G5719] to meG3427 unreasonableG249 to sendG3992[G5723] a prisonerG1198, andG2532 not withalG3361 to signifyG4591[G5658] the crimesG156 laid againstG2596 himG846.
