[1]In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters. |
| [2]DanielH1841 spakeH6032[H8750] and saidH560[H8750], I sawH2370[H8751][H1934][H8754] in my visionH2376 byH5974 nightH3916, and, beholdH718, the fourH703 windsH7308 of the heavenH8065 stroveH1519[H8683] upon the greatH7229 seaH3221. |
[2]Daniel spoke and said, I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven strove upon the great sea. |
| [3]And fourH703 greatH7260 beastsH2423 came upH5559[H8751] fromH4481 the seaH3221, diverseH8133[H8750] oneH1668 fromH4481 anotherH1668. |
[3]And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. |
| [4]The firstH6933 was like a lionH744, and had eagle'sH5403 wingsH1611: I beheldH1934[H8754][H2370][H8751] tillH5705 the wingsH1611 thereof were pluckedH4804[H8760], and it was lifted upH5191[H8760] fromH4481 the earthH772, and made standH6966[H8717] uponH5922 the feetH7271 as a manH606, and a man'sH606 heartH3825 was givenH3052 to itH8753. |
[4]The first was like a lion, and had eagles' wings: I beheld till its wings were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made to stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. |

[5]And behold another beast, a second, like a bear, and it raised itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus to it, Arise, devour much flesh. |

[6]After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. |

[7]After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. |

[8]I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things. |

[9]I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. |

[10]A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set and the books were opened. |
| [11]I beheldH1934[H8754][H2370][H8751] thenH116 becauseH4481 of the voiceH7032 of the greatH7260 wordsH4406 which the hornH7162 spakeH4449[H8743]: I beheldH1934[H8754][H2370][H8751] even tillH5705 the beastH2423 was slainH6992[H8752], and his bodyH1655 destroyedH7[H8717], and givenH3052[H8753] to the burningH3346 flameH785. |
[11]I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spoke: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. |
| [12]As concerning the restH7606 of the beastsH2423, they had their dominionH7985 taken awayH5709[H8684]: yet their livesH2417 were prolongedH3052[H8753] forH5705 a seasonH2166 and timeH5732. |
[12]As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. |

[13]I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like the son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. |
| [14]And there was givenH3052[H8753] him dominionH7985, and gloryH3367, and a kingdomH4437, that allH3606 peopleH5972, nationsH524, and languagesH3961, should serveH6399[H8748] him: his dominionH7985 is an everlastingH5957 dominionH7985, which shall notH3809 pass awayH5709[H8748], and his kingdomH4437 that which shall notH3809 be destroyedH2255.[H8721] |
[14]And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. |

[15]I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. |
| [16]I came nearH7127[H8754] untoH5922 oneH2298 ofH4481 them that stood byH6966[H8750], and askedH1156[H8748] himH4481 the truthH3330 of allH3606 thisH1836. So he toldH560[H8754] me, and made me knowH3046[H8681] the interpretationH6591 of the thingsH4406. |
[16]I came near to one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. |
| [17]TheseH459 greatH7260 beastsH2423, whichH581 are fourH703, are fourH703 kingsH4430, which shall ariseH6966[H8748] out ofH4481 the earthH772. |
[17]These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. |
| [18]But the saintsH6922 of the most HighH5946 shall takeH6902[H8741] the kingdomH4437, and possessH2631[H8681] the kingdomH4437 forH5705 everH5957, even forH5705 everH5957 and everH5957. |
[18]But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever. |
| [19]ThenH116 I wouldH6634[H8754] know the truthH3321[H8742] ofH5922 the fourthH7244 beastH2423, which wasH1934[H8754] diverseH8133[H8750] fromH4481 allH3606 the others, exceedingH3493 dreadfulH1763[H8753], whose teethH8128 were of ironH6523, and his nailsH2953 of brassH5174; which devouredH399[H8750], brake in piecesH1855[H8683], and stampedH7512[H8751] the residueH7606 with his feetH7271; |
[19]Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; |
| [20]And ofH5922 the tenH6236 hornsH7162 that were in his headH7217, and of the otherH317 which came upH5559[H8754], and beforeH4481[H6925] whom threeH8532 fellH5308[H8754]; even of that hornH7162 thatH1797 had eyesH5870, and a mouthH6433 that spakeH4449[H8743] very great thingsH7260, whose lookH2376 was moreH4481 stoutH7229 thanH4481 his fellowsH2273. |
[20]And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. |
| [21]I beheldH1934[H8754][H2370][H8751], and the sameH1797 hornH7162 madeH5648[H8751] warH7129 withH5974 the saintsH6922, and prevailedH3202 against themH8750; |
[21]I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; |
| [22]UntilH5705 the AncientH6268 of daysH3118 cameH858[H8754][H1768], and judgmentH1780 was givenH3052[H8753] to the saintsH6922 of the most HighH5946; and the timeH2166 cameH4291[H8754] that the saintsH6922 possessedH2631[H8684] the kingdomH4437. |
[22]Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. |
| [23]ThusH3652 he saidH560[H8754], The fourthH7244 beastH2423 shall beH1934[H8748] the fourthH7244 kingdomH4437 upon earthH772, which shall be diverseH8133[H8748] fromH4481 allH3606 kingdomsH4437, and shall devourH399[H8748] the wholeH3606 earthH772, and shall tread it downH1759[H8748], and break it in piecesH1855.[H8681] |
[23]Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. |
| [24]And the tenH6236 hornsH7162 out ofH4481 this kingdomH4437 are tenH6236 kingsH4430 that shall ariseH6966[H8748]: and anotherH321 shall riseH6966[H8748] afterH311 them; and he shall be diverseH8133[H8748] fromH4481 the firstH6933, and he shall subdueH8214[H8681] threeH8532 kingsH4430. |
[24]And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. |
| [25]And he shall speakH4449[H8741] great wordsH4406 againstH6655 the most HighH5943, and shall wear outH1080[H8741] the saintsH6922 of the most HighH5946, and thinkH5452[H8748] to changeH8133[H8682] timesH2166 and lawsH1882: and they shall be givenH3052[H8725] into his handH3028 untilH5705 a timeH5732 and timesH5732 and the dividingH6387 of timeH5732. |
[25]And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. |
| [26]But the judgmentH1780 shall sitH3488[H8754], and they shall take awayH5709[H8681] his dominionH7985, to consumeH8046[H8682] and to destroyH7[H8682] it untoH5705 the endH5491. |
[26]But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion to consume and to destroy it to the end. |
| [27]And the kingdomH4437 and dominionH7985, and the greatnessH7238 of the kingdomH4437 underH8460 the wholeH3606 heavenH8065, shall be givenH3052[H8753] to the peopleH5972 of the saintsH6922 of the most HighH5946, whose kingdomH4437 is an everlastingH5957 kingdomH4437, and allH3606 dominionsH7985 shall serveH6399[H8748] and obeyH8086 himH8721. |
[27]And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. |
| [28]HithertoH5705[H3542] is the endH5491 of the matterH4406. As for meH576 DanielH1841, my cogitationsH7476 muchH7690 troubledH927[H8792] me, and my countenanceH2122 changedH8133[H8721] in meH5922: but I keptH5202[H8754] the matterH4406 in my heartH3821. |
[28]Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart. |
