[1]And MosesH4872 with the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478 commandedH6680[H8762] the peopleH5971, sayingH559[H8800], KeepH8104[H8800] all the commandmentsH4687 which I commandH6680[H8764] you this dayH3117. [1]`And Moses -- the elders of Israel also -- commandeth the people, saying, Keep all the command which I am commanding you to-day;
[2]And it shall be on the dayH3117 when ye shall pass overH5674[H8799] JordanH3383 unto the landH776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 givethH5414[H8802] thee, that thou shalt set thee upH6965[H8689] greatH1419 stonesH68, and plaisterH7874[H8804] them with plaisterH7875: [2]and it hath been, in the day that ye pass over the Jordan unto the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee, that thou hast raised up for thee great stones, and plaistered them with plaister,
[3]And thou shalt writeH3789[H8804] upon them all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451, when thou art passed overH5674[H8800], that thou mayest go inH935[H8799] unto the landH776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 givethH5414[H8802] thee, a landH776 that flowethH2100[H8802] with milkH2461 and honeyH1706; as the LORDH3068 GodH430 of thy fathersH1 hath promisedH1696 theeH8765. [3]and written on them all the words of this law in thy passing over, so that thou goest in unto the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee -- a land flowing with milk and honey, as Jehovah, God of thy fathers, hath spoken to thee.
[4]Therefore it shall be when ye be gone overH5674[H8800] JordanH3383, that ye shall set upH6965[H8686] these stonesH68, which I commandH6680[H8764] you this dayH3117, in mountH2022 EbalH5858, and thou shalt plaisterH7875 them with plaisterH7874.[H8804] [4]`And it hath been, in your passing over the Jordan, ye raise up these stones which I am commanding you to-day, in mount Ebal, and thou hast plaistered them with plaister,
[5]And there shalt thou buildH1129[H8804] an altarH4196 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH430, an altarH4196 of stonesH68: thou shalt not lift upH5130[H8686] any iron tool upon themH1270. [5]and built there an altar to Jehovah thy God, an altar of stones, thou dost not wave over them iron.
[6]Thou shalt buildH1129[H8799] the altarH4196 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 of wholeH8003 stonesH68: and thou shalt offerH5927[H8689] burnt offeringsH5930 thereon unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH430: [6]Of complete stones thou buildest the altar of Jehovah thy God, and hast caused to ascend on it burnt-offerings to Jehovah thy God,
[7]And thou shalt offerH2076[H8804] peace offeringsH8002, and shalt eatH398[H8804] there, and rejoiceH8055[H8804] beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH430. [7]and sacrificed peace-offerings, and eaten there, and rejoiced before Jehovah thy God,
[8]And thou shalt writeH3789[H8804] upon the stonesH68 all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451 veryH3190[H8687] plainlyH874.[H8761] [8]and written on the stones all the words of this law, well engraved.'
[9]And MosesH4872 and the priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881 spakeH1696[H8762] unto all IsraelH3478, sayingH559[H8800], Take heedH5535[H8685], and hearkenH8085[H8798], O IsraelH3478; this dayH3117 thou art becomeH1961[H8738] the peopleH5971 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH430. [9]And Moses speaketh -- the priests, the Levites, also -- unto all Israel, saying, `Keep silent, and hear, O Israel, this day thou hast become a people to Jehovah thy God;
[10]Thou shalt therefore obeyH8085[H8804] the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH430, and doH6213[H8804] his commandmentsH4687 and his statutesH2706, which I commandH6680[H8764] thee this dayH3117. [10]and thou hast hearkened to the voice of Jehovah thy God, and done His commands, and His statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day.'
[11]And MosesH4872 chargedH6680[H8762] the peopleH5971 the same dayH3117, sayingH559,[H8800] [11]And Moses commandeth the people on that day, saying,
[12]These shall standH5975[H8799] upon mountH2022 GerizimH1630 to blessH1288[H8763] the peopleH5971, when ye are come overH5674[H8800] JordanH3383; SimeonH8095, and LeviH3878, and JudahH3063, and IssacharH3485, and JosephH3130, and BenjaminH1144: [12]`These do stand, to bless the people, on mount Gerizzim, in your passing over the Jordan: Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin.
[13]And these shall standH5975[H8799] upon mountH2022 EbalH5858 to curseH7045; ReubenH7205, GadH1410, and AsherH836, and ZebulunH2074, DanH1835, and NaphtaliH5321. [13]And these do stand, for the reviling, on mount Ebal: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
[14]And the LevitesH3881 shall speakH6030[H8804], and sayH559[H8804] unto all the menH376 of IsraelH3478 with a loudH7311[H8802] voiceH6963, [14]`And the Levites have answered and said unto every man of Israel -- a loud voice:
[15]CursedH779[H8803] be the manH376 that makethH6213[H8799] any gravenH6459 or molten imageH4541, an abominationH8441 unto the LORDH3068, the workH4639 of the handsH3027 of the craftsmanH2796, and puttethH7760[H8804] it in a secretH5643 place. And all the peopleH5971 shall answerH6030[H8804] and sayH559[H8804], AmenH543. [15]`Cursed [is] the man who maketh a graven and molten image, the abomination of Jehovah, work of the hands of an artificer, and hath put [it] in a secret place, -- and all the people have answered and said, Amen.
[16]CursedH779[H8803] be he that setteth lightH7034[H8688] by his fatherH1 or his motherH517. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH559[H8804], AmenH543. [16]`Cursed [is] He who is making light of his father and his mother, -- and all the people have said, Amen.
[17]CursedH779[H8803] be he that removethH5253[H8688] his neighbour'sH7453 landmarkH1366. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH559[H8804], AmenH543. [17]`Cursed [is] he who is removing his neighbour's border, -- and all the people have said, Amen.
[18]CursedH779[H8803] be he that maketh the blindH5787 to wanderH7686[H8688] out of the wayH1870. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH559[H8804], AmenH543. [18]`Cursed [is] he who is causing the blind to err in the way, -- and all the people have said, Amen.
[19]CursedH779[H8803] be he that pervertethH5186[H8688] the judgmentH4941 of the strangerH1616, fatherlessH3490, and widowH490. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH559[H8804], AmenH543. [19]`Cursed [is] he who is turning aside the judgment of fatherless, sojourner, and widow, -- and all the people have said, Amen.
[20]CursedH779[H8803] be he that liethH7901[H8802] with his father'sH1 wifeH802; because he uncoverethH1540[H8765] his father'sH1 skirtH3671. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH559[H8804], AmenH543. [20]`Cursed [is] he who is lying with his father's wife, for he hath uncovered his father's skirt, -- and all the people have said, Amen.
[21]CursedH779[H8803] be he that liethH7901[H8802] with any manner of beastH929. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH559[H8804], AmenH543. [21]`Cursed [is] he who is lying with any beast, -- and all the people have said, Amen.
[22]CursedH779[H8803] be he that liethH7901[H8802] with his sisterH269, the daughterH1323 of his fatherH1, or the daughterH1323 of his motherH517. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH559[H8804], AmenH543. [22]`Cursed [is] he who is lying with his sister, daughter of his father, or daughter of his mother, -- and all the people have said, Amen.
[23]CursedH779[H8803] be he that liethH7901[H8802] with his mother in lawH2859[H8802]. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH559[H8804], AmenH543. [23]`Cursed [is] he who is lying with his mother-in-law, -- and all the people have said, Amen.
[24]CursedH779[H8803] be he that smitethH5221[H8688] his neighbourH7453 secretlyH5643. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH559[H8804], AmenH543. [24]`Cursed [is] he who is smiting his neighbour in secret, -- and all the people have said, Amen.
[25]CursedH779[H8803] be he that takethH3947[H8802] rewardH7810 to slayH5221[H8687] an innocentH5355 personH5315[H1818]. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH559[H8804], AmenH543. [25]`Cursed [is] he who is taking a bribe to smite a person, innocent blood, -- and all the people have said, Amen.
[26]CursedH779[H8803] be he that confirmethH6965[H8686] not all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451 to doH6213[H8800] them. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH559[H8804], AmenH543. [26]`Cursed [is] he who doth not establish the words of this law, to do them, -- and all the people have said, Amen.
