[1]There is an evil, which I saw under the sun, and it is much among men: |
[2]ἀνήρN3-NSM ὅςRR-DSM δίδωμιVF-FAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM πλοῦτοςN2-ASM καίC ὑποἄρχωV1-PAPASM καίC δόξαN1S-ASF καίC οὐD εἰμίV9-PAI3S ὑστερέωV2-PAPNSM ὁRA-DSF ψυχήN1-DSF αὐτόςRD-GSM ἀπόP πᾶςA3-GPM ὅςRR-GPM ἐπιθυμέωVF-FAI3S καίC οὐD ἐξουσιάζωVF-FAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-GSN ἐσθίωVB-AAN ἀπόP αὐτόςRD-GSM ὅτιC ἀνήρN3-NSM ξένοςA1-NSM ἐσθίωVF-FMI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM οὗτοςRD-NSN ματαιότηςN3T-NSF καίC ἀρρωστίαN1A-NSF πονηρόςA1A-NSF εἰμίV9-PAI3S |
[2]A man to whom God hath given riches and treasures and honor, and he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that it desireth: but God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a strange man shall eat it up: this is vanity, and this is an evil sickness. |
[3]ἐάνC γεννάωVF-FMI2S ἀνήρN3-NSM ἑκατόνM καίC ἔτοςN3E-APN πολύςA1-APN ζάωVF-FMI3S καίC πλῆθοςN3E-ASN ὅςRR-ASN τιςRI-ASN εἰμίVF-FMI3P ἡμέραN1A-NPF ἔτοςN3E-GPN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ψυχήN1-NSF αὐτόςRD-GSM οὐD ἐνπίμπλημιVS-FPI3S ἀπόP ὁRA-GSF ἀγαθωσύνηN1-GSF καίC γέX ταφήN1-NSF οὐD γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM εἶπονVAI-AAI1S ἀγαθόςA1-NSN ὑπέρP αὐτόςRD-ASM ὁRA-NSN ἔκτρωμαN3M-NSN |
[3]If a man beget an hundred children and live many years, and the days of his years be multiplied, and his soul be not satisfied with good things, and he be not buried, I say that an untimely fruit is better than he. |
[4]ὅτιC ἐνP ματαιότηςN3T-DSF ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S καίC ἐνP σκότοςN3E-DSN πορεύομαιV1-PMI3S καίC ἐνP σκότοςN3E-DSN ὄνομαN3M-NSN αὐτόςRD-GSM καλύπτωVV-FPI3S |
[4]For he cometh into vanity and goeth into darkness: and his name shall be covered with darkness. |
[5]καίC γέX ἥλιοςN2-ASM οὐD ὁράωVBI-AAI3S καίC οὐD γιγνώσκωVZI-AAI3S ἀνάπαυσιςN3I-NSF οὗτοςRD-DSM ὑπέρP οὗτοςRD-ASM |
[5]Also he hath not seen the sun, nor known it: therefore this hath more rest than the other. |
[6]καίC εἰC ζάωVAI-AAI3S χίλιοιA1A-GPN ἔτοςN3E-GPN κάθοδοςN2-APF καίC ἀγαθωσύνηN1-ASF οὐD ὁράωVBI-AAI3S μήD οὐD εἰςP τόποςN2-ASM εἷςA3-ASM ὁRA-ASM πᾶςA3-ASM πορεύομαιV1-PMI3S |
[6]And if he had lived a thousand years twice told, and had seen no good, shall not all go to one place? |
[7]πᾶςA3-NSM μόχθοςN2-NSM ὁRA-GSM ἄνθρωποςN2-GSM εἰςP στόμαN3M-ASN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC γέX ὁRA-NSF ψυχήN1-NSF οὐD πληρόωVC-FPI3S |
[7]All the labor of man is for his mouth: yet the soul is not filled. |
[8]ὅτιC τίςRI-NSF περισσείαN1A-NSF ὁRA-DSM σοφόςA1-DSM ὑπέρP ὁRA-ASM ἄφρωνA3N-ASM διότιC ὁRA-NSM πένηςN3T-NSM οἶδαVX-XAI3S πορεύομαιVC-APN κατέναντιD ὁRA-GSF ζωήN1-GSF |
[8]For what hath the wise man more than the fool? What hath the poor that knoweth how to walk before the living? |
[9]ἀγαθόςA1-NSN ὅραμαN3M-NSN ὀφθαλμόςN2-GPM ὑπέρP πορεύομαιV1-PMPASN ψυχήN1-DSF καίC γέX οὗτοςRD-NSN ματαιότηςN3T-NSF καίC προαίρεσιςN3I-NSF πνεῦμαN3M-GSN |
[9]The sight of the eye is better than to walk in the lusts: this also is vanity, and vexation of spirit. |
[10]εἰC τίςRI-NSN γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ἤδηD καλέωVM-XPI3S ὄνομαN3M-NSN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC γιγνώσκωVSI-API3S ὅςRR-NSM εἰμίV9-PAI3S ἄνθρωποςN2-NSM καίC οὐD δύναμαιVF-FMI3S ὁRA-GSN κρίνωVC-APN μετάP ὁRA-GSM ἰσχυρόςA1A-GSM ὑπέρP αὐτόςRD-ASM |
[10]What is that that hath been? The name thereof is now named: and it is known that it is man: and he cannot strive with him that is stronger than he. |
