| [1]Now these are the names of the sons of Israel, who came into Egypt with Jacob; every man came with his household: |

| [2]Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah; |
[2]*ρουβηνN--NSM *συμεωνN--NSM *λευίN--NSM *ἰούδαςN--NSM |
| [3]Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin; |
[3]*ισσαχαρN--NSM *ζαβουλωνN--NSM καίC *βενιαμίνN--NSM |
| [4]Dan and Naphtali, Gad and Asher. |
[4]*δανN--NSM καίC *νεφθαλιN--NSM *γαδN--NSM καίC *ασηρN--NSM |
| [5]And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls; and Joseph was in Egypt already. |
[5]*ιωσηφN--NSM δέX εἰμίV9-IAI3S ἐνP *αἴγυπτοςN2-DSF εἰμίV9-IAI3P δέX πᾶςA1S-NPF ψυχήN1-NPF ἐκP *ἰακώβN--GSM πέντεM καίC ἑβδομήκονταM |
| [6]And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all generation. |
[6]τελευτάωVAI-AAI3S δέX *ιωσηφN--NSM καίC πᾶςA3-NPM ὁRA-NPM ἀδελφόςN2-NPM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC πᾶςA1S-NSF ὁRA-NSF γενεάN1A-NSF ἐκεῖνοςRD-NSF |
| [7]And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them. |

| [8]Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who knew not Joseph. |
[8]ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3S δέX βασιλεύςN3V-NSM ἕτεροςA1A-NSM ἐπίP *αἴγυπτοςN2-ASF ὅςRR-NSM οὐD οἶδαVXI-YAI3S ὁRA-ASM *ιωσηφN--ASM |
| [9]And he said unto his people: 'Behold, the people of the children of Israel are too many and too mighty for us; |
[9]εἶπονVBI-AAI3S δέX ὁRA-DSN ἔθνοςN3E-DSN αὐτόςRD-GSM ἰδούI ὁRA-NSN γένοςN3E-NSN ὁRA-GPM υἱόςN2-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM μέγαςA1P-NSN πλῆθοςN3E-NSN καίC ἰσχύωV1-PAI3S ὑπέρP ἐγώRP-AP |
| [10]Come, let us deal wisely with them, lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there befalleth us any war, they also join themselves unto our enemies, and fight against us, and get them up out of the land.' |
[10]δεῦτεD οὖνX κατασοφίζωVA-AAS1P αὐτόςRD-APM μήποτεD πληθύνωVC-APS3S καίC ἡνίκαD ἄνX συνβαίνωVZ-AAS3S ἐγώRP-DP πόλεμοςN2-NSM προςτίθημιVC-FPI3P καίC οὗτοςRD-NPM πρόςP ὁRA-APM ὑπεναντίοςA1A-APM καίC ἐκπολεμέωVA-AAPNPM ἐγώRP-AP ἐκἔρχομαιVF-FMI3P ἐκP ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF |
| [11]Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh store-cities, Pithom and Raamses. |
[11]καίC ἐπιἵστημιVHI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DPM ἐπιστάτηςN1M-APM ὁRA-GPN ἔργονN2N-GPN ἵναC κακόωVA-AAS3P αὐτόςRD-APM ἐνP ὁRA-DPN ἔργονN2N-DPN καίC οἰκοδομέωVAI-AAI3P πόλιςN3I-APF ὀχυρόςA1A-APF ὁRA-DSM *φαραώN--DSM ὁRA-ASF τεX *πιθωμN--ASF καίC *ραμεσσηN--ASF καίC *ωνN--ASM ὅςRR-NSF εἰμίV9-PAI3S *ἥλιοςN2-GSM πόλιςN3I-NSF |
| [12]But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and the more they spread abroad. And they were adread because of the children of Israel. |
[12]καθότιD δέX αὐτόςRD-APM ταπεινόωV4I-IAI3P τοσοῦτοςA1-DSM πολύςA3C-NPMC γίγνομαιV1I-IMI3P καίC ἰσχύωV1-IAI3P σφόδραD σφόδραD καίC βδελύσσωV1I-IMI3P ὁRA-NPM *αἰγύπτιοςN2-NPM ἀπόP ὁRA-GPM υἱόςN2-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM |
| [13]And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour. |
[13]καίC καταδυναστεύωV1I-IAI3P ὁRA-NPM *αἰγύπτιοςN2-NPM ὁRA-APM υἱόςN2-APM *ἰσραήλN--GSM βίαN1A-DSF |
| [14]And they made their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field; in all their service, wherein they made them serve with rigour. |
[14]καίC καταὀδυνάωV1I-IAI3P αὐτόςRD-GPM ὁRA-ASF ζωήN1-ASF ἐνP ὁRA-DPN ἔργονN2N-DPN ὁRA-DPN σκληρόςA1A-DPN ὁRA-DSM πηλόςN2-DSM καίC ὁRA-DSF πλινθείαN1A-DSF καίC πᾶςA3-DPN ὁRA-DPN ἔργονN2N-DPN ὁRA-DPN ἐνP ὁRA-DPN πεδίονN2N-DPN κατάP πᾶςA3-APN ὁRA-APN ἔργονN2N-APN ὅςRR-GPN καταδουλόωV4I-IMI3P αὐτόςRD-APM μετάP βίαN1A-GSF |
| [15]And the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah; |
[15]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM ὁRA-GPM *αἰγύπτιοςN2-GPM ὁRA-DPF μαῖαN1A-DPF ὁRA-GPM *εβραῖοςN2-GPM ὁRA-DSF εἷςA1A-DSF αὐτόςRD-GPM ὅςRR-DSF ὄνομαN3M-NSN *σεπφωραN--NSF καίC ὁRA-NSN ὄνομαN3M-NSN ὁRA-GSF δεύτεροςA1A-GSF *φουαN--NSF |
| [16]And he said: 'When ye do the office of midwife to the Hebrew women, ye shall look upon the birthstool: if it be a son, then ye shall kill him; but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.' |
[16]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὅτανD μαιόομαιV4-PAI2P ὁRA-APF *εβραῖαN1A-APF καίC εἰμίV9-PAS3P πρόςP ὁRA-DSN τίκτωV1-PAN ἐάνC μένX ἄρσηνA3-NSN εἰμίV9-PAS3S ἀποκτείνωVA-AAD2P αὐτόςRD-ASN ἐάνC δέX θῆλυςA3U-NSN περιποιέωV2-PMD2P αὐτόςRD-ASN |
| [17]But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men-children alive. |
[17]φοβέωVCI-API3P δέX ὁRA-NPF μαῖαN1A-NPF ὁRA-ASM θεόςN2-ASM καίC οὐD ποιέωVAI-AAI3P καθότιD συντάσσωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DPF ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM *αἴγυπτοςN2-GSF καίC ζωογονέωV2I-IAI3P ὁRA-APN ἄρσηνA3-APN |
| [18]And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them: 'Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men-children alive?' |
[18]καλέωVAI-AAI3S δέX ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM *αἴγυπτοςN2-GSF ὁRA-APF μαῖαN1A-APF καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DPF τίςRI-ASN ὅτιC ποιέωVAI-AAI2P ὁRA-ASN πρᾶγμαN3M-ASN οὗτοςRD-ASN καίC ζωογονέωV2I-IAI2P ὁRA-APN ἄρσηνA3-APN |
| [19]And the midwives said unto Pharaoh: 'Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwife come unto them.' |
[19]εἶπονVAI-AAI3P δέX ὁRA-NPF μαῖαN1A-NPF ὁRA-DSM *φαραώN--DSM οὐD ὡςC γυνήN3K-NPF *αἴγυπτοςN2-GSF ὁRA-NPF *εβραῖαN1A-NPF τίκτωV1-PAI3P γάρX πρίνD ἤC εἰςἔρχομαιVB-AAN πρόςP αὐτόςRD-APF ὁRA-APF μαῖαN1A-APF καίC τίκτωV1I-IAI3P |
| [20]And God dealt well with the midwives; and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty. |
[20]εὖD δέX ποιέωV2I-IAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-DPF μαῖαN1A-DPF καίC πληθύνωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM καίC ἰσχύωV1I-IAI3S σφόδραD |
| [21]And it came to pass because the midwives feared God, that He made them houses. |
[21]ἐπειδήC φοβέωV2I-IMI3P ὁRA-NPF μαῖαN1A-NPF ὁRA-ASM θεόςN2-ASM ποιέωVAI-AAI3P ἑαυτοῦRD-DPF οἰκίαN1A-APF |
| [22]And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying: 'Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.' |
[22]συντάσσωVAI-AAI3S δέX *φαραώN--NSM πᾶςA3-DSM ὁRA-DSM λαόςN2-DSM αὐτόςRD-GSM λέγωV1-PAPNSM πᾶςA3-NSM ἄρσηνA3-ASN ὅςRR-NSN ἐάνC τίκτωVQ-APS3S ὁRA-DPM *εβραῖοςN2-DPM εἰςP ὁRA-ASM ποταμόςN2-ASM ῥίπτωVA-AAD2P καίC πᾶςA3-ASN θῆλυςA3U-ASN ζωογονέωV2-PAI2P αὐτόςRD-ASN |
