[1]And unto Moses He said: 'Come up unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off; [1]Now he had said unto Moses, Come up to the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and ye shall worship afar off.
[2]And Moses alone shall come near unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎; but they shall not come near; neither shall the people go up with him.' [2]And Moses himself alone shall come near to the Lord, but they shall not come near, neither shall the people go up with him.
[3]And Moses came and told the people all the words of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said: 'All the words which the Lord hath spoken will we do.' [3]Afterward Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord and all the laws: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the things which the Lord hath said, will we do.
[4]And Moses wrote all the words ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the mount, and twelve pillars according to the twelve tribes of Israel. [4]And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early, and set up an altar under the mountain, and twelve pillars according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
[5]And he sent the young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt-offerings, and sacrificed peace-offerings of oxen unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎. [5]And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings of beeves, and sacrificed peace offerings unto the Lord.
[6]And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basins; and half of the blood he dashed against the altar. [6]Then Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basins, and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
[7]And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the hearing of the people; and they said: 'All that ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ hath spoken will we do, and obey.' [7]After he took the book of the covenant, and read it in the audience of the people: who said, All that the Lord hath said, we will do, and be obedient.
[8]And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said 'Behold the blood of the covenant, which ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ hath made with you in agreement with all these words.' [8]Then Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold, the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these things.
[9]Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; [9]Then went up Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel.
[10]And they saw the God of Israel; and there was under His feet the like of a paved work of sapphire stone, and the like of the very heaven for clearness. [10]And they saw the God of Israel, and under his feet was as it were a work of a sapphire stone, and as the very heaven when it is clear.
[11]And upon the nobles of the children of Israel He laid not His hand; and they beheld God, and did eat and drink. [11]And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.
[12]And ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ said unto Moses: 'Come up to Me into the mount and be there; and I will give thee the tables of stone, and the law and the commandment, which I have written, that thou mayest teach them.' [12]And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mountain, and be there, and I will give thee tables of stone, and the law and the commandment, which I have written, for to teach them.
[13]And Moses rose up, and Joshua his minister; and Moses went up into the mount of God. [13]Then Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua, and Moses went up into the mountain of God,
[14]And unto the elders he said: 'Tarry ye here for us, until we come back unto you; and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you; whosoever hath a cause, let him come near unto them.' [14]And said unto the elders, Tarry us here, until we come again unto you: and behold, Aaron, and Hur are with you: whosoever hath any matters, let him come to them.
[15]And Moses went up into the mount, and the cloud covered the mount. [15]Then Moses went up to the mount, and the cloud covered the mountain,
[16]And the glory of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and the seventh day He called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. [16]And the glory of the Lord abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
[17]And the appearance of the glory of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel. [17]And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like consuming fire on the top of the mountain, in the eyes of the children of Israel.
[18]And Moses entered into the midst of the cloud, and went up into the mount; and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights. [18]And Moses entered into the midst of the cloud, and went up to the mountain: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
