[1]And to Moses he said, Go up to the Lord, thou and Aaron and Nadab and Abiud, and seventy of the elders of Israel: and they shall worship the Lord from a distance. |
| [2]And MosesH4872 alone shall come nearH5066[H8738] the LORDH3068: but they shall not come nighH5066[H8799]; neither shall the peopleH5971 go upH5927 with himH8799. |
[2]And Moses alone shall draw nigh to God; and they shall not draw nigh, and the people shall not come up with them. |
| [3]And MosesH4872 cameH935[H8799] and toldH5608[H8762] the peopleH5971 all the wordsH1697 of the LORDH3068, and all the judgmentsH4941: and all the peopleH5971 answeredH6030[H8799] with oneH259 voiceH6963, and saidH559[H8799], All the wordsH1697 which the LORDH3068 hath saidH1696[H8765] will we doH6213.[H8799] |
[3]And Moses went in and related to the people all the words of God and the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, saying, All the words which the Lord has spoken, we will do and be obedient. |
| [4]And MosesH4872 wroteH3789[H8799] all the wordsH1697 of the LORDH3068, and rose up earlyH7925[H8686] in the morningH1242, and buildedH1129[H8799] an altarH4196 under the hillH2022, and twelve pillarsH4676, according to the twelveH8147[H6240] tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478. |
[4]And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and set up twelve stones for the twelve tribes of Israel. |
| [5]And he sentH7971[H8799] young menH5288 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, which offeredH5927[H8686] burnt offeringsH5930, and sacrificedH2076[H8799] peaceH8002 offeringsH2077 of oxenH6499 unto the LORDH3068. |
[5]And he sent forth the young men of the children of Israel, and they offered whole burnt-offerings, and they sacrificed young calves as a peace-offering to God. |
| [6]And MosesH4872 tookH3947[H8799] halfH2677 of the bloodH1818, and putH7760[H8799] it in basonsH101; and halfH2677 of the bloodH1818 he sprinkledH2236[H8804] on the altarH4196. |
[6]And Moses took half the blood and poured it into bowls, and half the blood he poured out upon the altar. |
| [7]And he tookH3947[H8799] the bookH5612 of the covenantH1285, and readH7121[H8799] in the audienceH241 of the peopleH5971: and they saidH559[H8799], All that the LORDH3068 hath saidH1696[H8765] will we doH6213[H8799], and be obedientH8085.[H8799] |
[7]And he took the book of the covenant and read it in the ears of the people, and they said, All things whatsoever the Lord has spoken we will do and hearken therein. |
| [8]And MosesH4872 tookH3947[H8799] the bloodH1818, and sprinkledH2236[H8799] it on the peopleH5971, and saidH559[H8799], Behold the bloodH1818 of the covenantH1285, which the LORDH3068 hath madeH3772[H8804] with you concerning all these wordsH1697. |
[8]And Moses took the blood and sprinkled it upon the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you concerning all these words. |
| [9]Then went upH5927[H8799] MosesH4872, and AaronH175, NadabH5070, and AbihuH30, and seventyH7657 of the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478: |
[9]And Moses went up, and Aaron, and Nadab and Abiud, and seventy of the elders of Israel. |
| [10]And they sawH7200[H8799] the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: and there was under his feetH7272 as it were a pavedH3840 workH4639 of a sapphire stoneH5601, and as it were the bodyH6106 of heavenH8064 in his clearnessH2892. |
[10]And they saw the place where the God of Israel stood; and under his feet was as it were a work of sapphire slabs, and as it were the appearance of the firmament of heaven in its purity. |
| [11]And upon the noblesH678 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 he laidH7971[H8804] not his handH3027: also they sawH2372[H8799] GodH430, and did eatH398[H8799] and drinkH8354.[H8799] |
[11]And of the chosen ones of Israel there was not even one missing, and they appeared in the place of God, and did eat and drink. |
| [12]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto MosesH4872, Come upH5927[H8798] to me into the mountH2022, and be there: and I will giveH5414[H8799] thee tablesH3871 of stoneH68, and a lawH8451, and commandmentsH4687 which I have writtenH3789[H8804]; that thou mayest teachH3384 themH8687. |
[12]And the Lord said to Moses, Come up to me into the mountain, and be there; and I will give thee the tables of stone, the law and the commandments, which I have written to give them laws. |
| [13]And MosesH4872 rose upH6965[H8799], and his ministerH8334[H8764] JoshuaH3091: and MosesH4872 went upH5927[H8799] into the mountH2022 of GodH430. |
[13]And Moses rose up and Joshua his attendant, and they went up into the mount of God. |
| [14]And he saidH559[H8804] unto the eldersH2205, TarryH3427[H8798] ye hereH2088 for us, until we come againH7725[H8799] unto you: and, behold, AaronH175 and HurH2354 are with you: if anyH4310 manH1167 have any mattersH1697 to doH1167, let him comeH5066 unto themH8799. |
[14]And to the elders they said, Rest there till we return to you; and behold, Aaron and Or are with you: if any man have a cause to be tried, let them go to them. |
| [15]And MosesH4872 went upH5927[H8799] into the mountH2022, and a cloudH6051 coveredH3680[H8762] the mountH2022. |
[15]And Moses and Joshua went up to the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain. |
| [16]And the gloryH3519 of the LORDH3068 abodeH7931[H8799] upon mountH2022 SinaiH5514, and the cloudH6051 coveredH3680[H8762] it sixH8337 daysH3117: and the seventhH7637 dayH3117 he calledH7121[H8799] unto MosesH4872 out of the midstH8432 of the cloudH6051. |
[16]And the glory of God came down upon the mount Sina, and the cloud covered it six days; and the Lord called Moses on the seventh day out of the midst of the cloud. |
| [17]And the sightH4758 of the gloryH3519 of the LORDH3068 was like devouringH398[H8802] fireH784 on the topH7218 of the mountH2022 in the eyesH5869 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. |
[17]And the appearance of the glory of the Lord was as burning fire on the top of the mountain, before the children of Israel. |
| [18]And MosesH4872 wentH935[H8799] into the midstH8432 of the cloudH6051, and gat him upH5927[H8799] into the mountH2022: and MosesH4872 was in the mountH2022 fortyH705 daysH3117 and fortyH705 nightsH3915. |
[18]And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and went up to the mountain, and was there in the mountain forty days and forty nights. |
