LXX(EN)
[1]And takeH7126[H8685] thou unto thee AaronH175 thy brotherH251, and his sonsH1121 with him, from amongH8432 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, that he may minister unto me in the priest's officeH3547[H8763], even AaronH175, NadabH5070 and AbihuH30, EleazarH499 and IthamarH385, Aaron'sH175 sonsH1121. [1]And do thou take to thyself both Aaron thy brother, and his sons, even them of the children of Israel; so that Aaron, and Nadab and Abiud, and Eleazar and Ithamar, sons of Aaron, may minister to me.
[2]And thou shalt makeH6213[H8804] holyH6944 garmentsH899 for AaronH175 thy brotherH251 for gloryH3519 and for beautyH8597. [2]And thou shalt make holy apparel for Aaron thy brother, for honour and glory.
[3]And thou shalt speakH1696[H8762] unto all that are wiseH2450 heartedH3820, whom I have filledH4390[H8765] with the spiritH7307 of wisdomH2451, that they may makeH6213[H8804] Aaron'sH175 garmentsH899 to consecrateH6942[H8763] him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's officeH3547.[H8763] [3]And speak thou to all those who are wise in understanding, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom and perception; and they shall make the holy apparel of Aaron for the sanctuary, in which apparel he shall minister to me as priest.
[4]And these are the garmentsH899 which they shall makeH6213[H8799]; a breastplateH2833, and an ephodH646, and a robeH4598, and a broideredH8665 coatH3801, a mitreH4701, and a girdleH73: and they shall makeH6213[H8804] holyH6944 garmentsH899 for AaronH175 thy brotherH251, and his sonsH1121, that he may minister unto me in the priest's officeH3547.[H8763] [4]And these are the garments which they shall make: the breast-plate, and the shoulder-piece, and the full-length robe, and the tunic with a fringe, and the tire, and the girdle; and they shall make holy garments for Aaron and his sons to minister to me as priests.
[5]And they shall takeH3947[H8799] goldH2091, and blueH8504, and purpleH713, and scarletH8144[H8438], and fine linenH8336. [5]And they shall take the gold, and the blue, and the purple, and the scarlet, and the fine linen.
[6]And they shall makeH6213[H8804] the ephodH646 of goldH2091, of blueH8504, and of purpleH713, of scarletH8144[H8438], and fine twinedH7806[H8716] linenH8336, with cunningH2803[H8802] workH4639. [6]And they shall make the shoulder-piece of fine linen spun, the woven work of the embroiderer.
[7]It shall have the twoH8147 shoulderpiecesH3802 thereof joinedH2266[H8802] at the twoH8147 edgesH7098 thereof; and so it shall be joined togetherH2266.[H8795] [7]It shall have two shoulder-pieces joined together, fastened on the two sides.
[8]And the curious girdleH2805 of the ephodH642, which is upon it, shall be of the same, according to the workH4639 thereof; even of goldH2091, of blueH8504, and purpleH713, and scarletH8144[H8438], and fine twinedH7806[H8716] linenH8336. [8]And the woven work of the shoulder-pieces which is upon it, shall be of one piece according to the work, of pure gold and blue and purple, and spun scarlet and fine twined linen.
[9]And thou shalt takeH3947[H8804] twoH8147 onyxH7718 stonesH68, and graveH6605[H8765] on them the namesH8034 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478: [9]And thou shalt take the two stones, the stones of emerald, and thou shalt grave on them the names of the children of Israel.
[10]SixH8337 of their namesH8034 on oneH259 stoneH68, and the other sixH8337 namesH8034 of the restH3498[H8737] on the otherH8145 stoneH68, according to their birthH8435. [10]Six names on the first stone, and the other six names on the second stone, according to their births.
[11]With the workH4639 of an engraverH2796 in stoneH68, like the engravingsH6603 of a signetH2368, shalt thou engraveH6605[H8762] the twoH8147 stonesH68 with the namesH8034 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478: thou shalt makeH6213[H8799] them to be setH4142[H8716] in ouchesH4865 of goldH2091. [11]It shall be the work of the stone-engraver's art; as the graving of a seal thou shalt engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Israel.
[12]And thou shalt putH7760[H8804] the twoH8147 stonesH68 upon the shouldersH3802 of the ephodH646 for stonesH68 of memorialH2146 unto the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478: and AaronH175 shall bearH5375[H8804] their namesH8034 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 upon his twoH8147 shouldersH3802 for a memorialH2146. [12]And thou shalt put the two stones on the shoulders of the shoulder-piece: they are memorial-stones for the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel before the Lord on his two shoulders, a memorial for them.
[13]And thou shalt makeH6213[H8804] ouchesH4865 of goldH2091; [13]And thou shalt make circlets of pure gold;
[14]And twoH8147 chainsH8333 of pureH2889 goldH2091 at the endsH4020; of wreathenH5688 workH4639 shalt thou makeH6213[H8799] them, and fastenH5414[H8804] the wreathenH5688 chainsH8333 to the ouchesH4865. [14]and thou shalt make two fringes of pure gold, variegated with flowers wreathen work; and thou shalt put the wreathen fringes on the circlets, fastening them on their shoulder-pieces in front.
[15]And thou shalt makeH6213[H8804] the breastplateH2833 of judgmentH4941 with cunningH2803[H8802] workH4639; after the workH4639 of the ephodH646 thou shalt makeH6213[H8799] it; of goldH2091, of blueH8504, and of purpleH713, and of scarletH8144[H8438], and of fine twinedH7806[H8716] linenH8336, shalt thou makeH6213 itH8799. [15]And thou shalt make the oracle of judgment, the work of the embroiderer: in keeping with the ephod, thou shalt make it of gold, and blue and purple, and spun scarlet, and fine linen spun.
[16]FoursquareH7251[H8803] it shall be being doubledH3717[H8803]; a spanH2239 shall be the lengthH753 thereof, and a spanH2239 shall be the breadth thereofH7341. [16]Thou shalt make it square: it shall be double; of a span the length of it, and of a span the breadth.
[17]And thou shalt setH4390[H8765] in it settingsH4396 of stonesH68, even fourH702 rowsH2905 of stonesH68: the first rowH2905 shall be a sardiusH124, a topazH6357, and a carbuncleH1304: this shall be the firstH259 rowH2905. [17]And thou shalt interweave with it a texture of four rows of stone; there shall be a row of stones, a sardius, a topaz, and emerald, the first row.
[18]And the secondH8145 rowH2905 shall be an emeraldH5306, a sapphireH5601, and a diamondH3095. [18]And the second row, a carbuncle, a sapphire, and a jasper.
[19]And the thirdH7992 rowH2905 a ligureH3958, an agateH7618, and an amethystH306. [19]And the third row, a ligure, an agate, an amethyst:
[20]And the fourthH7243 rowH2905 a berylH8658, and an onyxH7718, and a jasperH3471: they shall be setH7660[H8794] in goldH2091 in their inclosingsH4396. [20]and the fourth row, a chrysolite, and a beryl, and an onyx stone, set round with gold, bound together with gold: let them be according to their row.
[21]And the stonesH68 shall be with the namesH8034 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, twelveH8147[H6240], according to their namesH8034, like the engravingsH6603 of a signetH2368; every oneH376 with his nameH8034 shall they be according to the twelveH8147[H6240] tribesH7626. [21]And let the stones of the names of the children of Israel be twelve according to their names, engravings as of seals: let them be for the twelve tribes each according to the name.
[22]And thou shalt makeH6213[H8804] upon the breastplateH2833 chainsH8331 at the endsH1383 of wreathenH5688 workH4639 of pureH2889 goldH2091. [22]And thou shalt make on the oracle woven fringes, a chain-work of pure gold.
[23]And thou shalt makeH6213[H8804] upon the breastplateH2833 twoH8147 ringsH2885 of goldH2091, and shalt putH5414[H8804] the twoH8147 ringsH2885 on the twoH8147 endsH7098 of the breastplateH2833. [23]And Aaron shall take the names of the children of Israel, on the oracle of judgment on his breast; a memorial before God for him as he goes into the sanctuary.
[24]And thou shalt putH5414[H8804] the twoH8147 wreathenH5688 chains of goldH2091 in the twoH8147 ringsH2885 which are on the endsH7098 of the breastplateH2833. [24]And thou shalt put the fringes on the oracle of judgment; thou shalt put the wreaths on both sides of the oracle,
[25]And the other twoH8147 endsH7098 of the twoH8147 wreathenH5688 chains thou shalt fastenH5414[H8799] in the twoH8147 ouchesH4865, and putH5414[H8804] them on the shoulderpiecesH3802 of the ephodH646 beforeH6440 itH4136. [25]and thou shalt put the two circlets on both the shoulders of the ephod in front.
[26]And thou shalt makeH6213[H8804] twoH8147 ringsH2885 of goldH2091, and thou shalt putH7760[H8804] them upon the twoH8147 endsH7098 of the breastplateH2833 in the borderH8193 thereof, which is in the sideH5676 of the ephodH646 inwardH1004. [26]And thou shalt put the Manifestation and the Truth on the oracle of judgment; and it shall be on the breast of Aaron, when he goes into the holy place before the Lord; and Aaron shall bear the judgments of the children of Israel on his breast before the Lord continually.
[27]And twoH8147 other ringsH2885 of goldH2091 thou shalt makeH6213[H8804], and shalt putH5414[H8804] them on the twoH8147 sidesH3802 of the ephodH646 underneathH4295, towardH4136 the forepartH6440 thereof, over againstH5980 the other couplingH4225 thereof, aboveH4605 the curious girdleH2805 of the ephodH646. [27]And thou shalt make the full-length tunic all of blue.
[28]And they shall bindH7405[H8799] the breastplateH2833 by the ringsH2885 thereof unto the ringsH2885 of the ephodH646 with a laceH6616 of blueH8504, that it may be above the curious girdleH2805 of the ephodH646, and that the breastplateH2833 be not loosedH2118[H8735] from the ephodH646. [28]And the opening of it shall be in the middle having a fringe round about the opening, the work of the weaver, woven together in the joining of the same piece that it might not be rent.
[29]And AaronH175 shall bearH5375[H8804] the namesH8034 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 in the breastplateH2833 of judgmentH4941 upon his heartH3820, when he goethH935[H8800] in unto the holyH6944 place, for a memorialH2146 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 continuallyH8548. [29]And under the fringe of the robe below thou shalt make as it were pomegranates of a flowering pomegranate tree, of blue, and purple, and spun scarlet, and fine linen spun, under the fringe of the robe round about: golden pomegranates of the same shape, and bells round about between these.
[30]And thou shalt putH5414[H8804] in the breastplateH2833 of judgmentH4941 the UrimH224 and the ThummimH8550; and they shall be upon Aaron'sH175 heartH3820, when he goethH935[H8800] in beforeH6440 the LORDH3068: and AaronH175 shall bearH5375[H8804] the judgmentH4941 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 upon his heartH3820 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 continuallyH8548. [30]A bell by the side of a golden pomegranate, and flower-work on the fringe of the robe round about.
[31]And thou shalt makeH6213[H8804] the robeH4598 of the ephodH646 allH3632 of blueH8504. [31]And the sound of Aaron shall be audible when he ministers, as he goes into the sanctuary before the Lord, and has he goes out, that he die not.
[32]And there shall be an holeH6310 in the topH7218 of it, in the midstH8432 thereof: it shall have a bindingH8193 of wovenH707[H8802] workH4639 round aboutH5439 the holeH6310 of it, as it were the holeH6310 of an habergeonH8473, that it be not rentH7167.[H8735] [32]And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and thou shalt grave on it as the graving of a signet, Holiness of the Lord.
[33]And beneath upon the hemH7757 of it thou shalt makeH6213[H8804] pomegranatesH7416 of blueH8504, and of purpleH713, and of scarletH8144[H8438], round aboutH5439 the hemH7757 thereof; and bellsH6472 of goldH2091 betweenH8432 them round aboutH5439: [33]And thou shalt put it on the spun blue cloth, and it shall be on the mitre: it shall be in the front of the mitre.

[34]And it shall be on the forehead of Aaron; and Aaron shall bear away the sins of their holy things, all that the children of Israel shall sanctify of every gift of their holy things, and it shall be on the forehead of Aaron continually acceptable for them before the Lord.
[35]And it shall be upon AaronH175 to ministerH8334[H8763]: and his soundH6963 shall be heardH8085[H8738] when he goethH935[H8800] in unto the holyH6944 place beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, and when he comethH3318[H8800] out, that he dieH4191 notH8799. [35]And the fringes of the garments shall be of fine linen; and thou shalt make a tire of fine linen, and thou shalt make a girdle, the work of the embroiderer.
[36]And thou shalt makeH6213[H8804] a plateH6731 of pureH2889 goldH2091, and graveH6605[H8765] upon it, like the engravingsH6603 of a signetH2368, HOLINESSH6944 TO THE LORDH3068. [36]And for the sons of Aaron thou shalt make tunics and girdles, and thou shalt make for them tires for honour and glory.
[37]And thou shalt putH7760[H8804] it on a blueH8504 laceH6616, that it may be upon the mitreH4701; upon the forefrontH6440[H4136] of the mitre it shall beH4701. [38]And it shall be upon Aaron'sH175 foreheadH4696, that AaronH175 may bearH5375[H8804] the iniquityH5771 of the holy thingsH6944, which the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 shall hallowH6942[H8686] in all their holyH6944 giftsH4979; and it shall be alwaysH8548 upon his foreheadH4696, that they may be acceptedH7522 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068. [38]And thou shalt make for them linen drawers to cover the nakedness of their flesh; they shall reach from the loins to the thighs.
[39]And thou shalt embroiderH7660[H8765] the coatH3801 of fine linenH8336, and thou shalt makeH6213[H8804] the mitreH4701 of fine linenH8336, and thou shalt makeH6213[H8799] the girdleH73 of needleworkH7551[H8802].[H4639] [39]And Aaron shall have them, and his sons, whenever they enter into the tabernacle of witness, or when they shall advance to the altar of the sanctuary to minister, so they shall not bring sin upon themselves, lest they die: it is a perpetual statute for him, and for his seed after him.
[40]And for Aaron'sH175 sonsH1121 thou shalt makeH6213[H8799] coatsH3801, and thou shalt makeH6213[H8804] for them girdlesH73, and bonnetsH4021 shalt thou makeH6213[H8799] for them, for gloryH3519 and for beautyH8597. 40[No verse]
[41]And thou shalt putH3847[H8689] them upon AaronH175 thy brotherH251, and his sonsH1121 with him; and shalt anointH4886[H8804] them, and consecrateH4390[H8765][H3027] them, and sanctifyH6942[H8765] them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's officeH3547.[H8765] 41[No verse]
[42]And thou shalt makeH6213[H8798] them linenH906 breechesH4370 to coverH3680[H8763] their nakednessH1320[H6172]; from the loinsH4975 even unto the thighs they shall reachH3409: 42[No verse]
[43]And they shall be upon AaronH175, and upon his sonsH1121, when they comeH935[H8800] in unto the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150, or when they come nearH5066[H8800] unto the altarH4196 to ministerH8334[H8763] in the holyH6944 place; that they bearH5375[H8799] not iniquityH5771, and dieH4191[H8804]: it shall be a statuteH2708 for everH5769 unto him and his seedH2233 after himH310. 43[No verse]
