| [1]וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵךְ עֲלֵה מִזֶּה אַתָּה וְהָעָם אֲשֶׁר הֶעֱלִיתָ מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּעְתִּי לְאַבְרָהָם לְיִצְחָק וּלְיַעֲקֹב לֵאמֹר לְזַרְעֲךָ אֶתְּנֶנָּה׃ |
[1]And the LORDH3068 saidH1696[H8762] unto MosesH4872, DepartH3212[H8798], and go upH5927[H8798] hence, thou and the peopleH5971 which thou hast brought upH5927[H8689] out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, unto the landH776 which I swareH7650[H8738] unto AbrahamH85, to IsaacH3327, and to JacobH3290, sayingH559[H8800], Unto thy seedH2233 will I giveH5414 itH8799: |
| [2]וְשָׁלַחְתִּי לְפָנֶיךָ מַלְאָךְ וְגֵרַשְׁתִּי אֶת־הַכְּנַעֲנִי הָאֱמֹרִי וְהַחִתִּי וְהַפְּרִזִּי הַחִוִּי וְהַיְבוּסִי׃ |
[2]And I will sendH7971[H8804] an angelH4397 beforeH6440 thee; and I will drive outH1644[H8765] the CanaaniteH3669, the AmoriteH567, and the HittiteH2850, and the PerizziteH6522, the HiviteH2340, and the JebusiteH2983: |
| [3]אֶל־אֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבָשׁ כִּי לֹא אֶעֱלֶה בְּקִרְבְּךָ כִּי עַם־קְשֵׁה־עֹרֶף אַתָּה פֶּן־אֲכֶלְךָ בַּדָּרֶךְ׃ |
[3]Unto a landH776 flowingH2100[H8802] with milkH2461 and honeyH1706: for I will not go upH5927[H8799] in the midstH7130 of thee; for thou art a stiffneckedH7186[H6203] peopleH5971: lest I consumeH3615[H8762] thee in the wayH1870. |
| [4]וַיִּשְׁמַע הָעָם אֶת־הַדָּבָר הָרָע הַזֶּה וַיִּתְאַבָּלוּ וְלֹא־שָׁתוּ אִישׁ עֶדְיֹו עָלָיו׃ |
[4]And when the peopleH5971 heardH8085[H8799] these evilH7451 tidingsH1697, they mournedH56[H8691]: and no manH376 did putH7896[H8804] on him his ornamentsH5716. |
| [5]וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה אֱמֹר אֶל־בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אַתֶּם עַם־קְשֵׁה־עֹרֶף רֶגַע אֶחָד אֶעֱלֶה בְקִרְבְּךָ וְכִלִּיתִיךָ וְעַתָּה הֹורֵד עֶדְיְךָ מֵעָלֶיךָ וְאֵדְעָה מָה אֶעֱשֶׂה־לָּךְ׃ |
[5]For the LORDH3068 had saidH559[H8799] unto MosesH4872, SayH559[H8798] unto the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, Ye are a stiffneckedH7186[H6203] peopleH5971: I will come upH5927[H8799] into the midstH7130 of thee in aH259 momentH7281, and consumeH3615[H8765] thee: therefore now put offH3381[H8685] thy ornamentsH5716 from thee, that I may knowH3045[H8799] what to doH6213 unto theeH8799. |
| [6]וַיִּתְנַצְּלוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־עֶדְיָם מֵהַר חֹורֵב׃ |
[6]And the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 strippedH5337[H8691] themselves of their ornamentsH5716 by the mountH2022 HorebH2722. |
| [7]וּמֹשֶׁה יִקַּח אֶת־הָאֹהֶל וְנָטָה־לֹו מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה הַרְחֵק מִן־הַמַּחֲנֶה וְקָרָא לֹו אֹהֶל מֹועֵד וְהָיָה כָּל־מְבַקֵּשׁ יְהוָה יֵצֵא אֶל־אֹהֶל מֹועֵד אֲשֶׁר מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה׃ |
[7]And MosesH4872 tookH3947[H8799] the tabernacleH168, and pitchedH5186[H8804] it withoutH2351 the campH4264, afar offH7368[H8687] from the campH4264, and calledH7121[H8804] it the TabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150. And it came to pass, that every one which soughtH1245[H8764] the LORDH3068 went outH3318[H8799] unto the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150, which was withoutH2351 the campH4264. |
| [8]וְהָיָה כְּצֵאת מֹשֶׁה אֶל־הָאֹהֶל יָקוּמוּ כָּל־הָעָם וְנִצְּבוּ אִישׁ פֶּתַח אָהֳלֹו וְהִבִּיטוּ אַחֲרֵי מֹשֶׁה עַד־בֹּאֹו הָאֹהֱלָה׃ |
[8]And it came to pass, when MosesH4872 went outH3318[H8800] unto the tabernacleH168, that all the peopleH5971 rose upH6965[H8799], and stoodH5324[H8738] every manH376 at his tentH168 doorH6607, and lookedH5027[H8689] afterH310 MosesH4872, until he was goneH935[H8800] into the tabernacleH168. |
| [9]וְהָיָה כְּבֹא מֹשֶׁה הָאֹהֱלָה יֵרֵד עַמּוּד הֶעָןָן וְעָמַד פֶּתַח הָאֹהֶל וְדִבֶּר עִם־מֹשֶׁה׃ |
[9]And it came to pass, as MosesH4872 enteredH935[H8800] into the tabernacleH168, the cloudyH6051 pillarH5982 descendedH3381[H8799], and stoodH5975[H8804] at the doorH6607 of the tabernacleH168, and the LORD talkedH1696[H8765] with MosesH4872. |
| [10]וְרָאָה כָל־הָעָם אֶת־עַמּוּד הֶעָןָן עֹמֵד פֶּתַח הָאֹהֶל וְקָם כָּל־הָעָם וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוּוּ אִישׁ פֶּתַח אָהֳלֹו׃ |
[10]And all the peopleH5971 sawH7200[H8804] the cloudyH6051 pillarH5982 standH5975[H8802] at the tabernacleH168 doorH6607: and all the peopleH5971 rose upH6965[H8804] and worshippedH7812[H8694], every manH376 in his tentH168 doorH6607. |
| [11]וְדִבֶּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה פָּנִים אֶל־פָּנִים כַּאֲשֶׁר יְדַבֵּר אִישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵהוּ וְשָׁב אֶל־הַמַּחֲנֶה וּמְשָׁרְתֹו יְהֹושֻׁעַ בִּן־נוּן נַעַר לֹא יָמִישׁ מִתֹּוךְ הָאֹהֶל׃ |
[11]And the LORDH3068 spakeH1696[H8765] unto MosesH4872 faceH6440 to faceH6440, as a manH376 speakethH1696[H8762] unto his friendH7453. And he turned againH7725[H8804] into the campH4264: but his servantH8334[H8764] JoshuaH3091, the sonH1121 of NunH5126, a young manH5288, departedH4185[H8686] not outH8432 of the tabernacleH168. |
| [12]וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל־יְהוָה רְאֵה אַתָּה אֹמֵר אֵלַי הַעַל אֶת־הָעָם הַזֶּה וְאַתָּה לֹא הֹודַעְתַּנִי אֵת אֲשֶׁר־תִּשְׁלַח עִמִּי וְאַתָּה אָמַרְתָּ יְדַעְתִּיךָ בְשֵׁם וְגַם־מָצָאתָ חֵן בְּעֵינָי׃ |
[12]And MosesH4872 saidH559[H8799] unto the LORDH3068, SeeH7200[H8798], thou sayestH559[H8802] unto me, Bring upH5927[H8685] this peopleH5971: and thou hast not let me knowH3045[H8689] whom thou wilt sendH7971[H8799] with me. Yet thou hast saidH559[H8804], I knowH3045[H8804] thee by nameH8034, and thou hast also foundH4672[H8804] graceH2580 in my sightH5869. |
| [13]וְעַתָּה אִם־נָא מָצָאתִי חֵן בְּעֵינֶיךָ הֹודִעֵנִי נָא אֶת־דְּרָךֶךָ וְאֵדָעֲךָ לְמַעַן אֶמְצָא־חֵן בְּעֵינֶיךָ וּרְאֵה כִּי עַמְּךָ הַגֹּוי הַזֶּה׃ |
[13]Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have foundH4672[H8804] graceH2580 in thy sightH5869, shewH3045[H8685] me now thy wayH1870, that I may knowH3045[H8799] thee, that I may findH4672[H8799] graceH2580 in thy sightH5869: and considerH7200[H8798] that this nationH1471 is thy peopleH5971. |
| [14]וַיֹּאמַר פָּנַי יֵלֵכוּ וַהֲנִחֹתִי לָךְ׃ |
[14]And he saidH559[H8799], My presenceH6440 shall goH3212[H8799] with thee, and I will give thee restH5117.[H8689] |
| [15]וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו אִם־אֵין פָּנֶיךָ הֹלְכִים אַל־תַּעֲלֵנוּ מִזֶּה׃ |
[15]And he saidH559[H8799] unto him, If thy presenceH6440 goH1980[H8802] not with me, carry us not upH5927 henceH8686. |
| [16]וּבַמֶּה יִוָּדַע אֵפֹוא כִּי־מָצָאתִי חֵן בְּעֵינֶיךָ אֲנִי וְעַמֶּךָ הֲלֹוא בְּלֶכְתְּךָ עִמָּנוּ וְנִפְלֵינוּ אֲנִי וְעַמְּךָ מִכָּל־הָעָם אֲשֶׁר עַל־פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה׃ |
[16]For wherein shall it be knownH3045[H8735] hereH645 that I and thy peopleH5971 have foundH4672[H8804] graceH2580 in thy sightH5869? is it not in that thou goestH3212[H8800] with us? so shall we be separatedH6395[H8738], I and thy peopleH5971, from all the peopleH5971 that are upon the faceH6440 of the earthH127. |
| [17]וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה גַּם אֶת־הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר דִּבַּרְתָּ אֶעֱשֶׂה כִּי־מָצָאתָ חֵן בְּעֵינַי וָאֵדָעֲךָ בְּשֵׁם׃ |
[17]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto MosesH4872, I will doH6213[H8799] this thingH1697 also that thou hast spokenH1696[H8765]: for thou hast foundH4672[H8804] graceH2580 in my sightH5869, and I knowH3045[H8799] thee by nameH8034. |
| [18]וַיֹּאמַר הַרְאֵנִי נָא אֶת־כְּבֹדֶךָ׃ |
[18]And he saidH559[H8799], I beseech theeH4994, shewH7200[H8685] me thy gloryH3519. |
| [19]וַיֹּאמֶר אֲנִי אַעֲבִיר כָּל־טוּבִי עַל־פָּנֶיךָ וְקָרָאתִי בְשֵׁם יְהוָה לְפָנֶיךָ וְחַנֹּתִי אֶת־אֲשֶׁר אָחֹן וְרִחַמְתִּי אֶת־אֲשֶׁר אֲרַחֵם׃ |
[19]And he saidH559[H8799], I will make all my goodnessH2898 passH5674[H8686] before thee, and I will proclaimH7121[H8804] the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068 beforeH6440 thee; and will be graciousH2603[H8804] to whom I will be graciousH2603[H8799], and will shew mercyH7355[H8765] on whom I will shew mercyH7355.[H8762] |
| [20]וַיֹּאמֶר לֹא תוּכַל לִרְאֹת אֶת־פָּנָי כִּי לֹא־יִרְאַנִי הָאָדָם וָחָי׃ |
[20]And he saidH559[H8799], Thou canstH3201[H8799] not seeH7200[H8800] my faceH6440: for there shall no manH120 seeH7200[H8799] me, and liveH2425.[H8804] |
| [21]וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה הִנֵּה מָקֹום אִתִּי וְנִצַּבְתָּ עַל־הַצּוּר׃ |
[21]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799], Behold, there is a placeH4725 by me, and thou shalt standH5324[H8738] upon a rockH6697: |
| [22]וְהָיָה בַּעֲבֹר כְּבֹדִי וְשַׂמְתִּיךָ בְּנִקְרַת הַצּוּר וְשַׂכֹּתִי כַפִּי עָלֶיךָ עַד־עָבְרִי׃ |
[22]And it shall come to pass, while my gloryH3519 passeth byH5674[H8800], that I will putH7760[H8804] thee in a cliftH5366 of the rockH6697, and will coverH5526[H8804] thee with my handH3709 whileH5704 I pass byH5674:[H8800] |
| [23]וַהֲסִרֹתִי אֶת־כַּפִּי וְרָאִיתָ אֶת־אֲחֹרָי וּפָנַי לֹא יֵרָאוּ׃ |
[23]And I will takeH5493[H8689] away mine handH3709, and thou shalt seeH7200[H8804] my back partsH268: but my faceH6440 shall not be seenH7200.[H8735] |
