[1]And the Lord said to Moses, Hew for thyself two tables of stone, as also the first were, and come up to me to the mountain; and I will write upon the tables the words, which were on the first tables, which thou brokest. |
| [2]And be readyH3559[H8737] in the morningH1242, and come upH5927[H8804] in the morningH1242 unto mountH2022 SinaiH5514, and presentH5324[H8738] thyself there to me in the topH7218 of the mountH2022. |
[2]And be ready by the morning, and thou shalt go up to the mount Sina, and shalt stand there for me on the top of the mountain. |
| [3]And no manH376 shall come upH5927[H8799] with thee, neitherH408 let any manH376 be seenH7200[H8735] throughout all the mountH2022; neither let the flocksH6629 nor herdsH1241 feedH7462[H8799] beforeH4136 that mountH2022. |
[3]And let no one go up with thee, nor be seen in all the mountain; and let not the sheep and oxen feed near that mountain. |
| [4]And he hewedH6458[H8799] twoH8147 tablesH3871 of stoneH68 like unto the firstH7223; and MosesH4872 rose up earlyH7925[H8686] in the morningH1242, and went upH5927[H8799] unto mountH2022 SinaiH5514, as the LORDH3068 had commandedH6680[H8765] him, and tookH3947[H8799] in his handH3027 the twoH8147 tablesH3871 of stoneH68. |
[4]And Moses hewed two tables of stone, as also the first were; and Moses having arisen early, went up to the mount Sina, as the Lord appointed him; and Moses took the two tables of stone. |
| [5]And the LORDH3068 descendedH3381[H8799] in the cloudH6051, and stoodH3320[H8691] with him there, and proclaimedH7121[H8799] the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068. |
[5]And the Lord descended in a cloud, and stood near him there, and called by the name of the Lord. |

[6]And the Lord passed by before his face, and proclaimed, The Lord God, pitiful and merciful, longsuffering and very compassionate, and true, |
| [7]KeepingH5341[H8802] mercyH2617 for thousandsH505, forgivingH5375[H8802] iniquityH5771 and transgressionH6588 and sinH2403, and that will by no meansH5352[H8763] clearH5352[H8762] the guilty; visitingH6485[H8802] the iniquityH5771 of the fathersH1 upon the childrenH1121, and upon the children'sH1121 children, unto the thirdH8029 and to the fourth generationH7256. |
[7]and keeping justice and mercy for thousands, taking away iniquity, and unrighteousness, and sins; and he will not clear the guilty; bringing the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and to the children's children, to the third and fourth generation. |

[8]And Moses hasted, and bowed to the earth and worshipped; |
| [9]And he saidH559[H8799], If now I have foundH4672[H8804] graceH2580 in thy sightH5869, O LordH136, let my LordH136, I pray thee, goH3212[H8799] amongH7130 us; for it is a stiffneckedH7186[H6203] peopleH5971; and pardonH5545[H8804] our iniquityH5771 and our sinH2403, and take us for thine inheritanceH5157.[H8804] |
[9]and said, If I have found grace before thee, let my Lord go with us; for the people is stiff-necked: and thou shalt take away our sins and our iniquities, and we will be thine. |
| [10]And he saidH559[H8799], Behold, I makeH3772[H8802] a covenantH1285: before all thy peopleH5971 I will doH6213[H8799] marvelsH6381[H8737], such as have not been doneH1254[H8738] in all the earthH776, nor in any nationH1471: and all the peopleH5971 amongH7130 which thou art shall seeH7200[H8804] the workH4639 of the LORDH3068: for it is a terrible thingH3372[H8737] that I will doH6213 with theeH8802. |
[10]And the Lord said to Moses, Behold, I establish a covenant for thee in the presence of all thy people; I will do glorious things, which have not been done in all the earth, or in any nation; and all the people among whom thou art shall see the works of the Lord, that they are wonderful, which I will do for thee. |
| [11]ObserveH8104[H8798] thou that which I commandH6680[H8764] thee this dayH3117: behold, I drive outH1644[H8802] beforeH6440 thee the AmoriteH567, and the CanaaniteH3669, and the HittiteH2850, and the PerizziteH6522, and the HiviteH2340, and the JebusiteH2983. |
[11]Do thou take heed to all things whatsoever I command thee: behold, I cast out before your face the Amorite and the Chananite and the Pherezite, and the Chettite, and Evite, and Gergesite and Jebusite: |
| [12]Take heedH8104[H8734] to thyself, lest thou makeH3772[H8799] a covenantH1285 with the inhabitantsH3427[H8802] of the landH776 whither thou goestH935[H8802], lest it be for a snareH4170 in the midst of theeH7130: |
[12]take heed to thyself, lest at any time thou make a covenant with the dwellers on the land, into which thou art entering, lest it be to thee a stumbling-block among you. |
| [13]But ye shall destroyH5422[H8799] their altarsH4196, breakH7665[H8762] their imagesH4676, and cut downH3772[H8799] their grovesH842: |
[13]Ye shall destroy their altars, and break in pieces their pillars, and ye shall cut down their groves, and the graven images of their gods ye shall burn with fire. |
| [14]For thou shalt worshipH7812[H8691] no otherH312 godH410: for the LORDH3068, whose nameH8034 is JealousH7067, is a jealousH7067 GodH410: |
[14]For ye shall not worship strange gods, for the Lord God, a jealous name, is a jealous God; |
| [15]Lest thou makeH3772[H8799] a covenantH1285 with the inhabitantsH3427[H8802] of the landH776, and they go a whoringH2181[H8804] afterH310 their godsH430, and do sacrificeH2076[H8804] unto their godsH430, and one callH7121[H8804] thee, and thou eatH398[H8804] of his sacrificeH2077; |
[15]lest at any time thou make a covenant with the dwellers on the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and sacrifice to their gods, and they call thee, and thou shouldest eat of their feasts, |
| [16]And thou takeH3947[H8804] of their daughtersH1323 unto thy sonsH1121, and their daughtersH1323 go a whoringH2181[H8804] afterH310 their godsH430, and makeH2181 thy sonsH1121 go a whoringH2181[H8689] afterH310 their godsH430. |
[16]and thou shouldest take of their daughters to thy sons, and thou shouldest give of thy daughters to their sons; and thy daughters should go a whoring after their gods, and thy sons should go a whoring after their gods. |
| [17]Thou shalt makeH6213[H8799] thee no moltenH4541 godsH430. |
[17]And thou shalt not make to thyself molten gods. |

[18]And thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread, as I have charged thee, at the season in the month of new corn; for in the month of new corn thou camest out from Egypt. |

[19]The males are mine, everything that opens the womb; every first-born of oxen, and every first-born of sheep. |

[20]And the first-born of an ass thou shalt redeem with a sheep, and if thou wilt not redeem it thou shalt pay a price: every first-born of thy sons shalt thou redeem: thou shalt not appear before me empty. |

[21]Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: there shall be rest in seed-time and harvest. |

[22]And thou shalt keep to me the feast of weeks, the beginning of wheat-harvest; and the feast of ingathering in the middle of the year. |

[23]Three times in the year shall every male of thine appear before the Lord the God of Israel. |

[24]For when I shall have cast out the nations before thy face, and shall have enlarged thy coasts, no one shall desire thy land, whenever thou mayest go up to appear before the Lord thy God, three times in the year. |
| [25]Thou shalt not offerH7819[H8799] the bloodH1818 of my sacrificeH2077 with leavenH2557; neither shall the sacrificeH2077 of the feastH2282 of the passoverH6453 be leftH3885[H8799] unto the morningH1242. |
[25]Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifices with leaven, neither shall the sacrifices of the feast of the passover remain till the morning. |
| [26]The firstH7225 of the firstfruitsH1061 of thy landH127 thou shalt bringH935[H8686] unto the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH430. Thou shalt not seetheH1310[H8762] a kidH1423 in his mother'sH517 milkH2461. |
[26]The first-fruits of thy land shalt thou put into the house of the Lord thy God: thou shalt not boil a lamb in his mother's milk. |
| [27]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto MosesH4872, WriteH3789[H8798] thou these wordsH1697: for after the tenorH6310 of these wordsH1697 I have madeH3772[H8804] a covenantH1285 with thee and with IsraelH3478. |
[27]And the Lord said to Moses, Write these words for thyself, for on these words I have established a covenant with thee and with Israel. |
| [28]And he was there with the LORDH3068 fortyH705 daysH3117 and fortyH705 nightsH3915; he did neither eatH398[H8804] breadH3899, nor drinkH8354[H8804] waterH4325. And he wroteH3789[H8799] upon the tablesH3871 the wordsH1697 of the covenantH1285, the tenH6235 commandmentsH1697. |
[28]And Moses was there before the Lord forty days, and forty nights; he did not eat bread, and he did not drink water; and he wrote upon the tables these words of the covenant, the ten sayings. |
| [29]And it came to pass, when MosesH4872 came downH3381[H8800] from mountH2022 SinaiH5514 with the twoH8147 tablesH3871 of testimonyH5715 in Moses'H4872 handH3027, when he came downH3381[H8800] from the mountH2022, that MosesH4872 wistH3045[H8804] not that the skinH5785 of his faceH6440 shoneH7160[H8804] while he talkedH1696 with himH8763. |
[29]And when Moses went down from the mountain, there were the two tables in the hands of Moses,—as then he went down from the mountain, Moses knew not that the appearance of the skin of his face was glorified, when God spoke to him. |
| [30]And when AaronH175 and all the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 sawH7200[H8799] MosesH4872, behold, the skinH5785 of his faceH6440 shoneH7160[H8804]; and they were afraidH3372[H8799] to come nighH5066 himH8800. |
[30]And Aaron and all the elders of Israel saw Moses, and the appearance of the skin of his face was made glorious, and they feared to approach him. |
| [31]And MosesH4872 calledH7121[H8799] unto them; and AaronH175 and all the rulersH5387 of the congregationH5712 returnedH7725[H8799] unto him: and MosesH4872 talkedH1696 with themH8762. |
[31]And Moses called them, and Aaron and all the rulers of the synagogue turned towards him, and Moses spoke to them. |
| [32]And afterwardH310 all the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 came nighH5066[H8738]: and he gave them in commandmentH6680[H8762] all that the LORDH3068 had spokenH1696[H8765] with him in mountH2022 SinaiH5514. |
[32]And afterwards all the children of Israel came to him, and he commanded them all things, whatsoever the Lord had commanded him in the mount of Sina. |
| [33]And till MosesH4872 had doneH3615[H8762] speakingH1696[H8763] with them, he putH5414[H8799] a vailH4533 on his faceH6440. |
[33]And when he ceased speaking to them, he put a veil on his face. |
| [34]But when MosesH4872 went inH935[H8800] beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 to speakH1696[H8763] with him, he tookH5493 the vailH4533 offH5493[H8686], until he came outH3318[H8800]. And he came outH3318[H8804], and spakeH1696[H8765] unto the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 that which he was commandedH6680.[H8792] |
[34]And whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak to him, he took off the veil till he went out, and he went forth and spoke to all the children of Israel whatsoever the Lord commanded him. |
| [35]And the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 sawH7200[H8804] the faceH6440 of MosesH4872, that the skinH5785 of Moses'H4872 faceH6440 shoneH7160[H8804]: and MosesH4872 putH7725 the vailH4533 upon his faceH6440 againH7725[H8689], until he wentH935[H8800] in to speakH1696 with himH8763. |
[35]And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that it was glorified; and Moses put the veil over his face, till he went in to speak with him. |
