[1]Then ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ said unto Moses: 'Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him: Thus saith ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, the God of the Hebrews: Let My people go, that they may serve Me. [1]Then the Lord said unto Moses, Go to Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
[2]For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still, [2]But if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt yet hold them still,
[3]Behold, the hand of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ is upon thy cattle which are in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the herds, and upon the flocks; there shall be a very grievous murrain. [3]Behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thy flock which is in the field: for upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the cattle, and upon the sheep shall be a mighty great murrain.
[4]And ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ shall make a division between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt; and there shall nothing die of all that belongeth to the children of Israel.' [4]And the Lord shall do wonderfully between the beasts of Israel, and the beasts of Egypt: so that there shall nothing die of all, that pertaineth to the children of Israel.
[5]And ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ appointed a set time, saying: 'Tomorrow ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ shall do this thing in the land.' [5]And the Lord appointed a time, saying, Tomorrow the Lord shall finish this thing in this land.
[6]And ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died; but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one. [6]So the Lord did it on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.
[7]And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not so much as one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. But the heart of Pharaoh was stubborn, and he did not let the people go. [7]Then Pharaoh sent, and behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead: and the heart of Pharaoh was obstinate, and he did not let the people go.
[8]And ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ said unto Moses and unto Aaron: 'Take to you handfuls of soot of the furnace, and let Moses throw it heavenward in the sight of Pharaoh. [8]And the Lord said to Moses and to Aaron, Take your handful of ashes of the furnace, and Moses shall sprinkle them toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh,
[9]And it shall become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.' [9]And they shall be turned to dust in all the land of Egypt: and it shall be as a scab breaking out into blisters upon man, and upon beast, throughout out all the land of Egypt.
[10]And they took soot of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses threw it up heavenward; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man and upon beast. [10]Then they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh: and Moses sprinkled them toward the heaven, and there came a scab breaking out into blisters upon man, and upon beast.
[11]And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boils were upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians. [11]And the sorcerers could not stand before Moses, because of the scab: for the scab was upon the enchanters, and upon all the Egyptians.
[12]And ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ had spoken unto Moses. [12]And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them, as the Lord had said unto Moses.
[13]And ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ said unto Moses: 'Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him: Thus saith ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, the God of the Hebrews: Let My people go, that they may serve Me. [13]Also the Lord said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
[14]For I will this time send all My plagues upon thy person, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like Me in all the earth. [14]For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.
[15]Surely now I had put forth My hand, and smitten thee and thy people with pestilence, and thou hadst been cut off from the earth. [15]For now I will stretch out mine hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with the pestilence: and thou shalt perish from the earth.
[16]But in very deed for this cause have I made thee to stand, to show thee My power, and that My name may be declared throughout all the earth. [16]And indeed, for this cause have I appointed thee, to show my power in thee, and to declare my name throughout all the world.
[17]As yet exaltest thou thyself against My people, that thou wilt not let them go? [17]Yet thou exaltest thyself against my people, and lettest them not go.
[18]Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the day it was founded even until now. [18]Behold, tomorrow this time I will cause to rain a mighty great hail, such as was not in Egypt since the foundation thereof was laid unto this time.
[19]Now therefore send, hasten in thy cattle and all that thou hast in the field; for every man and beast that shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.' [19]Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field: for upon all the men, and the beasts, which are found in the field, and not brought home, the hail shall fall upon them, and they shall die.
[20]He that feared the word of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses; [20]Such then as feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh, made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:
[21]And he that regarded not the word of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ left his servants and his cattle in the field. [21]But such as regarded not the word of the Lord, left his servants, and his cattle in the field.
[22]And ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ said unto Moses: 'Stretch forth thy hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.' [22]And the Lord said to Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon all the herbs of the field in the land of Egypt.
[23]And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven; and ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down unto the earth; and ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ caused to hail upon the land of Egypt. [23]Then Moses stretched out his rod toward heaven, and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and lightning upon the ground: and the Lord caused hail to rain upon the land of Egypt.
[24]So there was hail, and fire flashing up amidst the hail, v grievous, such as had not been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. [24]So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, so grievous, as there was none throughout all the land of Egypt, since it was a nation.
[25]And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and broke every tree of the field. [25]And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast: also the hail smote all the herbs of the field, and break to pieces all the trees of the field.
[26]Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail. [26]Only in the land of Goshen (where the children of Israel were) was no hail.
[27]And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them: 'I have sinned this time; ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ is righteous, and I and my people are wicked. [27]Then Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have now sinned: the Lord is righteous, but I and my people are wicked.
[28]Entreat ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, and let there be enough of these mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.' [28]Pray ye unto the Lord (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunders and hail, and I will let you go, and ye shall tarry no longer.
[29]And Moses said unto him: 'As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread forth my hands unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎; the thunders shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know that the earth is ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎'S. [29]Then Moses said unto him, As soon as I am out of the city, I will spread mine hands unto the Lord, and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail, that thou mayest know that the earth is the Lord's.
[30]But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ God.'— [30]ForI know that thou, and thy servants, fear the Lord God, before I pray.
[31]And the flax and the barley were smitten; for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was in bloom. [31](And the flax, and the barley were smitten: for the barley was eared, and the flax was bolled.
[32]But the wheat and the spelt were not smitten; for they ripen late.— [32]But the wheat and the rye were not smitten, for they were hid in the ground)
[33]And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread forth his hands unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎; and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth. [33]Then Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread his hands to the Lord, and the thunder and the hail ceased, neither rained it upon the earth.
[34]And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants. [34]And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunder were ceased, he sinned again, and hardened his heart , both he, and his servants.
[35]And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the children of Israel go; as ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ had spoken by Moses. [35]So the heart of Pharaoh was hardened: neither would he let the children of Israel go, as the Lord had said by Moses.
