[1]Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east-gate of the LORD'S house, which looketh eastward: and behold, at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. |
| [2]Then saidH559[H8799] he unto me, SonH1121 of manH120, these are the menH582 that deviseH2803[H8802] mischiefH205, and giveH3289[H8802] wickedH7451 counselH6098 in this cityH5892: |
[2]Then said he to me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city: |
| [3]Which sayH559[H8802], It is not nearH7138; let us buildH1129[H8800] housesH1004: this city is the caldronH5518, and we be the fleshH1320. |
[3]Who say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we are the flesh. |
| [4]Therefore prophesyH5012[H8734] against them, prophesyH5012[H8734], O sonH1121 of manH120. |
[4]Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man. |
| [5]And the SpiritH7307 of the LORDH3068 fellH5307[H8799] upon me, and saidH559[H8799] unto me, SpeakH559[H8798]; Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068; Thus have ye saidH559[H8799], O houseH1004 of IsraelH3478: for I knowH3045[H8804] the things that comeH4609 into your mind, every one of themH7307. |
[5]And the spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said to me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them. |
| [6]Ye have multipliedH7235[H8689] your slainH2491 in this cityH5892, and ye have filledH4390[H8765] the streetsH2351 thereof with the slainH2491. |
[6]Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled its streets with the slain. |
| [7]Therefore thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; Your slainH2491 whom ye have laidH7760[H8804] in the midstH8432 of it, they are the fleshH1320, and this city is the caldronH5518: but I will bring you forthH3318[H8689] out of the midst of itH8432. |
[7]Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it. |
| [8]Ye have fearedH3372[H8804] the swordH2719; and I will bringH935[H8686] a swordH2719 upon you, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069. |
[8]Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord GOD. |
| [9]And I will bring you outH3318[H8689] of the midstH8432 thereof, and deliverH5414[H8804] you into the handsH3027 of strangersH2114[H8801], and will executeH6213[H8804] judgments among youH8201. |
[9]And I will bring you out of the midst of it, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you. |
| [10]Ye shall fallH5307[H8799] by the swordH2719; I will judgeH8199[H8799] you in the borderH1366 of IsraelH3478; and ye shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068. |
[10]Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. |
| [11]This city shall not be your caldronH5518, neither shall ye be the fleshH1320 in the midstH8432 thereof; but I will judgeH8199[H8799] you in the borderH1366 of IsraelH3478: |
[11]This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst of it; but I will judge you in the border of Israel: |
| [12]And ye shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068: for ye have not walkedH1980[H8804] in my statutesH2706, neither executedH6213[H8804] my judgmentsH4941, but have doneH6213[H8804] after the mannersH4941 of the heathenH1471 that are round about youH5439. |
[12]And ye shall know that I am the LORD: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are around you. |
| [13]And it came to pass, when I prophesiedH5012[H8736], that PelatiahH6410 the sonH1121 of BenaiahH1141 diedH4191[H8804]. Then fell I downH5307[H8799] upon my faceH6440, and criedH2199[H8799] with a loudH1419 voiceH6963, and saidH559[H8799], AhH162 LordH136 GODH3069! wilt thou makeH6213[H8802] a full endH3617 of the remnantH7611 of IsraelH3478? |
[13]And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel? |
| [14]Again the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came unto me, sayingH559,[H8800] |
[14]Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying, |
| [15]SonH1121 of manH120, thy brethrenH251, even thy brethrenH251, the menH582 of thy kindredH1353, and all the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitantsH3427[H8802] of JerusalemH3389 have saidH559[H8804], Get you farH7368[H8798] from the LORDH3068: unto us is this landH776 givenH5414[H8738] in possessionH4181. |
[15]Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Retire far from the LORD: to us is this land given in possession. |
| [16]Therefore sayH559[H8798], Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; Although I have cast them far offH7368[H8689] among the heathenH1471, and although I have scatteredH6327[H8689] them among the countriesH776, yet will I be to them as a littleH4592 sanctuaryH4720 in the countriesH776 where they shall comeH935.[H8804] |
[16]Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come. |
| [17]Therefore sayH559[H8798], Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; I will even gatherH6908[H8765] you from the peopleH5971, and assembleH622[H8804] you out of the countriesH776 where ye have been scatteredH6327[H8738], and I will giveH5414[H8804] you the landH127 of IsraelH3478. |
[17]Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. |
| [18]And they shall comeH935[H8804] thither, and they shall take awayH5493[H8689] all the detestable thingsH8251 thereof and all the abominations thereof from thenceH8441. |
[18]And they shall come thither, and they shall take away from thence all its detestable things, and all its abominations. |
| [19]And I will giveH5414[H8804] them oneH259 heartH3820, and I will putH5414[H8799] a newH2319 spiritH7307 withinH7130 you; and I will takeH5493[H8689] the stonyH68 heartH3820 out of their fleshH1320, and will giveH5414[H8804] them an heartH3820 of fleshH1320: |
[19]And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh: |
| [20]That they may walkH3212[H8799] in my statutesH2708, and keepH8104[H8799] mine ordinancesH4941, and doH6213[H8804] them: and they shall be my peopleH5971, and I will be their GodH430. |
[20]That they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. |
| [21]But as for them whose heartH3820 walkethH1980[H8802] after the heartH3820 of their detestable thingsH8251 and their abominationsH8441, I will recompenseH5414[H8804] their wayH1870 upon their own headsH7218, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069. |
[21]But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD. |
| [22]Then did the cherubimsH3742 lift upH5375[H8799] their wingsH3671, and the wheelsH212 besideH5980 them; and the gloryH3519 of the GodH430 of IsraelH3478 was over them aboveH4605. |
[22]Then the cherubim raised their wings, and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. |
| [23]And the gloryH3519 of the LORDH3068 went upH5927[H8799] from the midstH8432 of the cityH5892, and stoodH5975[H8799] upon the mountainH2022 which is on the east sideH6924 of the cityH5892. |
[23]And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city. |
| [24]Afterwards the spiritH7307 took me upH5375[H8804], and broughtH935[H8686] me in a visionH4758 by the SpiritH7307 of GodH430 into ChaldeaH3778, to them of the captivityH1473. So the visionH4758 that I had seenH7200[H8804] went upH5927 from meH8799. |
[24]Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me. |
| [25]Then I spakeH1696[H8762] unto them of the captivityH1473 all the thingsH1697 that the LORDH3068 had shewedH7200 meH8689. |
[25]Then I spoke to them of the captivity all the things that the LORD had shown me. |
