[1]And the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came unto me, sayingH559,[H8800] |
[1]And the word of the Lord was maad to me, |
[2]SonH1121 of manH120, prophesyH5012[H8734] against the prophetsH5030 of IsraelH3478 that prophesyH5012[H8737], and sayH559[H8804] thou unto them that prophesyH5030 out of their own heartsH3820, HearH8085[H8798] ye the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068; |
[2]and he seide, Sone of man, profesie thou to the profetis of Israel that profesien; and thou schalt seie to hem that profesien of her herte, |
[3]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; WoeH1945 unto the foolishH5036 prophetsH5030, that followH1980[H8802][H310] their own spiritH7307, and have seenH7200 nothingH8804! |
[3]Here ye the word of the Lord. The Lord God seith these thingis, Wo to the vnwise profetis, that suen her spirit, and seen no thing; |
[4]O IsraelH3478, thy prophetsH5030 are like the foxesH7776 in the desertsH2723. |
[4]Israel, thi profetis weren as foxis in desert. |
[5]Ye have not gone upH5927[H8804] into the gapsH6556, neither made upH1443[H8799] the hedgeH1447 for the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 to standH5975[H8800] in the battleH4421 in the dayH3117 of the LORDH3068. |
[5]Ye stieden not euene ayens, nether ayensettiden a wal for the hous of Israel, that ye shulden stonde in batel in the dai of the Lord. |
[6]They have seenH2372[H8804] vanityH7723 and lyingH3577 divinationH7081, sayingH559[H8802], The LORDH3068 saithH5002[H8803]: and the LORDH3068 hath not sentH7971[H8804] them: and they have made others to hopeH3176[H8765] that they would confirmH6965[H8763] the wordH1697. |
[6]Thei seen veyn thingis, and deuynen a leesyng, and seien, The Lord seith, whanne the Lord sente not hem; and thei contynueden to conferme the word. |
[7]Have ye not seenH2372[H8804] a vainH7723 visionH4236, and have ye not spokenH1696[H8765] a lyingH3577 divinationH4738, whereas ye sayH559[H8802], The LORDH3068 saithH5002[H8803] it; albeit I have not spokenH559?[H8804] |
[7]Whether ye seen not a veyn visioun, and spaken fals diuynyng, and seiden, The Lord seith, whanne Y spak not? |
[8]Therefore thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; Because ye have spokenH1696[H8763] vanityH7723, and seenH2372[H8804] liesH3577, therefore, behold, I am against you, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069. |
[8]Therfor the Lord God seith these thingis, For ye spaken veyn thingis, and sien a leesyng, therfor lo! Y to you, seith the Lord God. |
[9]And mine handH3027 shall be upon the prophetsH5030 that seeH2374 vanityH7723, and that divineH7080[H8802] liesH3577: they shall not be in the assemblyH5475 of my peopleH5971, neither shall they be writtenH3789[H8735] in the writingH3791 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, neither shall they enterH935[H8799] into the landH127 of IsraelH3478; and ye shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LordH136 GODH3069. |
[9]And myn hond schal be on the profetis that seen veyn thingis, and dyuynen a leesyng; thei schulen not be in the councel of my puple, and thei schulen not be writun in the scripture of the hous of Israel, nether thei schulen entre in to the lond of Israel; and ye schulen wite, that Y am the Lord God. |
[10]Because, even because they have seducedH2937[H8689] my peopleH5971, sayingH559[H8800], PeaceH7965; and there was no peaceH7965; and one built upH1129[H8802] a wallH2434, and, loH2009, others daubedH2902[H8802] it with untempered morterH8602: |
[10]For thei disseyueden my puple, and seiden, Pees, pees, and no pees is; and it bildide a wal, but thei pargitiden it with fen with out chaffis. |
[11]SayH559[H8798] unto them which daubH2902[H8802] it with untemperedH8602 morter, that it shall fallH5307[H8799]: there shall be an overflowingH7857[H8802] showerH1653; and yeH859, O great hailstonesH417[H68], shall fallH5307[H8799]; and a stormyH5591 windH7307 shall rendH1234 itH8762. |
[11]Seie thou to hem that pargiten with out temperure, that it schal falle doun; for a strong reyn schal be flowynge, and I shal yyue ful grete stoones fallinge fro aboue, and Y schal yyue a wynd of tempest that distrieth. |
[12]Lo, when the wallH7023 is fallenH5307[H8804], shall it not be saidH559[H8735] unto you, Where is the daubingH2915 wherewith ye have daubedH2902 itH8804? |
[12]For lo! the wal felle doun. Whether it schal not be seid to you, Where is the pargetyng, which ye pargetiden? |
[13]Therefore thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; I will even rendH1234[H8765] it with a stormyH5591 windH7307 in my furyH2534; and there shall be an overflowingH7857[H8802] showerH1653 in mine angerH639, and great hailstonesH417[H68] in my furyH2534 to consume itH3617. |
[13]Therfor the Lord God seith these thingis, And Y schal make the spirit of tempestis to breke out in myn indignacioun, and strong reyn flowynge in my strong veniaunce schal be, and greet stoonys in wraththe in to wastyng. |
[14]So will I break downH2040[H8804] the wallH7023 that ye have daubedH2902[H8804] with untemperedH8602 morter, and bringH5060[H8689] it down to the groundH776, so that the foundationH3247 thereof shall be discoveredH1540[H8738], and it shall fallH5307[H8804], and ye shall be consumedH3615[H8804] in the midstH8432 thereof: and ye shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068. |
[14]And Y schal distrie the wal, which ye pargetiden with out temperure, and Y schal make it euene with the erthe; and the foundement therof schal be schewid, and it schal falle doun, and it schal be wastid in the myddis therof; and ye schulen wite, that Y am the Lord. |
[15]Thus will I accomplishH3615[H8765] my wrathH2534 upon the wallH7023, and upon them that have daubedH2902[H8802] it with untemperedH8602 morter, and will sayH559[H8799] unto you, The wallH7023 is no more, neither they that daubedH2902 itH8802; |
[15]And Y schal fille myn indignacioun in the wal, and in hem that pargeten it with out temperure; and Y schal seie to you, The wal is not, and thei ben not, |
[16]To wit, the prophetsH5030 of IsraelH3478 which prophesyH5012[H8737] concerning JerusalemH3389, and which seeH2374 visionsH2377 of peaceH7965 for her, and there is no peaceH7965, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069. |
[16]that pargeten it, the profetis of Israel, that profesien to Jerusalem, and seen to it the visioun of pees, and pees is not, seith the Lord God. |
[17]Likewise, thou sonH1121 of manH120, setH7760[H8798] thy faceH6440 against the daughtersH1323 of thy peopleH5971, which prophesyH5012[H8693] out of their own heartH3820; and prophesyH5012 thou against themH8734, |
[17]And thou, sone of man, sette thi face ayens the douytris of thi puple, that profesien of her herte; and profesie thou on hem, |
[18]And sayH559[H8804], Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; WoeH1945 to the women that sewH8609[H8764] pillowsH3704 to all armholesH679[H3027], and makeH6213[H8802] kerchiefsH4555 upon the headH7218 of every statureH6967 to huntH6679[H8780] soulsH5315! Will ye huntH6679[H8779] the soulsH5315 of my peopleH5971, and will ye saveH2421 the soulsH5315 aliveH2421 that come unto youH8762? |
[18]and seie thou, The Lord God seith these thingis, Wo to hem that sowen togidere cuschens vndur ech cubit of hond, and maken pilewis vndur the heed of ech age, to take soulis; and whanne thei disseyueden the soulis of my puple, thei quykenyden the soulis of hem. |
[19]And will ye polluteH2490[H8762] me among my peopleH5971 for handfulsH8168 of barleyH8184 and for piecesH6595 of breadH3899, to slayH4191[H8687] the soulsH5315 that should not dieH4191[H8799], and to saveH2421 the soulsH5315 aliveH2421[H8763] that should not liveH2421[H8799], by your lyingH3576[H8763] to my peopleH5971 that hearH8085[H8802] your liesH3577? |
[19]And thei defouliden me to my puple, for an handful of barli, and for a gobet of breed, that thei schulden sle soulis that dien not, and quykene soulis that lyuen not; and thei lieden to my puple, bileuynge to leesyngis. |
[20]Wherefore thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; Behold, I am against your pillowsH3704, wherewith yeH859 there huntH6679[H8781] the soulsH5315 to make them flyH6524[H8802], and I will tearH7167[H8804] them from your armsH2220, and will let the soulsH5315 goH7971[H8765], even the soulsH5315 that ye huntH6679[H8781] to make them flyH6524.[H8802] |
[20]For this thing the Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y to youre cuschens, bi whiche ye disseyuen soulis fliynge; and Y schal al to-breke tho fro youre armes, and Y schal delyuere soulis which ye disseyuen, soulis to fle. |
[21]Your kerchiefsH4555 also will I tearH7167[H8804], and deliverH5337[H8689] my peopleH5971 out of your handH3027, and they shall be no more in your handH3027 to be huntedH4686; and ye shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068. |
[21]And Y schal al to-breke youre pilewis, and Y schal delyuere my puple fro youre hond; and thei schulen no more be in youre hondis, to be robbid; and ye schulen wite, that Y am the Lord. |
[22]Because with liesH8267 ye have made the heartH3820 of the righteousH6662 sadH3512[H8687], whom I have not made sadH3510[H8689]; and strengthenedH2388[H8763] the handsH3027 of the wickedH7451, that he should not returnH7725[H8800] from his wickedH7563 wayH1870, by promising him lifeH2421:[H8687] |
[22]For that that ye maden falsli the herte of a iust man to morene, whom Y made not sori; and ye coumfortiden the hondis of a wickid man, that he schulde not turne ayen fro his yuel weie, and lyue. |
[23]Therefore ye shall seeH2372[H8799] no more vanityH7723, nor divineH7080[H8799] divinationsH7081: for I will deliverH5337[H8689] my peopleH5971 out of your handH3027: and ye shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068. |
[23]Therfor ye schulen not se veyn thingis, and ye schulen no more dyuyne false dyuynyngis; and Y schal delyuere my puple fro youre hond, and ye schulen wite, that Y am the Lord. |
