[2]Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the forest? |
| [3]Shall woodH6086 be takenH3947[H8714] thereof to doH6213[H8800] any workH4399? or will men takeH3947[H8799] a pinH3489 of it to hangH8518[H8800] any vessel thereonH3627? |
[3]Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon? |
| [4]Behold, it is castH5414[H8738] into the fireH784 for fuelH402; the fireH784 devourethH398[H8804] bothH8147 the endsH7098 of it, and the midstH8432 of it is burnedH2787[H8737]. Is it meetH6743[H8799] for any workH4399? |
[4]Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire devoureth both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned. Is it meet for any work? |
| [5]Behold, when it was wholeH8549, it was meetH6213[H8735] for no workH4399: how much less shall it be meetH6213[H8738] yet for any workH4399, when the fireH784 hath devouredH398[H8804] it, and it is burnedH2787?[H8735] |
[5]Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less shall it be meet yet for any work, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned? |
| [6]Therefore thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; As the vineH1612 treeH6086 among the treesH6086 of the forestH3293, which I have givenH5414[H8804] to the fireH784 for fuelH402, so will I giveH5414[H8804] the inhabitantsH3427[H8802] of JerusalemH3389. |
[6]Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem. |
| [7]And I will setH5414[H8804] my faceH6440 against them; they shall go outH3318[H8804] from one fireH784, and another fireH784 shall devourH398[H8799] them; and ye shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068, when I setH7760[H8800] my face against themH6440. |
[7]And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them. |
| [8]And I will makeH5414[H8804] the landH776 desolateH8077, because they have committedH4603[H8804] a trespassH4604, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069. |
[8]And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord GOD. |
