| [2]And sayH559[H8804], What is thy motherH517? A lionessH3833: she lay downH7257[H8804] among lionsH738, she nourishedH7235[H8765] her whelpsH1482 amongH8432 young lionsH3715. |
[2]καὶ ἐρεῖς τί ἡ μήτηρ σου σκύμνος ἐν μέσῳ λεόντων ἐγενήθη ἐν μέσῳ λεόντων ἐπλήθυνεν σκύμνους αὐτῆς |
| [3]And she brought upH5927[H8686] oneH259 of her whelpsH1482: it became a young lionH3715, and it learnedH3925[H8799] to catchH2963[H8800] the preyH2964; it devouredH398[H8804] menH120. |
[3]καὶ ἀπεπήδησεν εἷς τῶν σκύμνων αὐτῆς λέων ἐγένετο καὶ ἔμαθεν τοῦ ἁρπάζειν ἁρπάγματα ἀνθρώπους ἔφαγεν |
| [4]The nationsH1471 also heardH8085[H8799] of him; he was takenH8610[H8738] in their pitH7845, and they broughtH935[H8686] him with chainsH2397 unto the landH776 of EgyptH4714. |
[4]καὶ ἤκουσαν κατ αὐτοῦ ἔθνη ἐν τῇ διαφθορᾷ αὐτῶν συνελήμφθη καὶ ἤγαγον αὐτὸν ἐν κημῷ εἰς γῆν αἰγύπτου |
| [5]Now when she sawH7200[H8799] that she had waitedH3176[H8738], and her hopeH8615 was lostH6[H8804], then she tookH3947[H8799] anotherH259 of her whelpsH1482, and madeH7760[H8804] him a young lionH3715. |
[5]καὶ εἶδεν ὅτι ἀπῶσται ἀπ αὐτῆς καὶ ἀπώλετο ἡ ὑπόστασις αὐτῆς καὶ ἔλαβεν ἄλλον ἐκ τῶν σκύμνων αὐτῆς λέοντα ἔταξεν αὐτόν |
| [6]And he went up and downH1980[H8691] amongH8432 the lionsH738, he became a young lionH3715, and learnedH3925[H8799] to catchH2963[H8800] the preyH2964, and devouredH398[H8804] menH120. |
[6]καὶ ἀνεστρέφετο ἐν μέσῳ λεόντων λέων ἐγένετο καὶ ἔμαθεν ἁρπάζειν ἁρπάγματα ἀνθρώπους ἔφαγεν |
| [7]And he knewH3045[H8799] their desolate palacesH490, and he laid wasteH2717[H8689] their citiesH5892; and the landH776 was desolateH3456[H8799], and the fulnessH4393 thereof, by the noiseH6963 of his roaringH7581. |
[7]καὶ ἐνέμετο τῷ θράσει αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰς πόλεις αὐτῶν ἐξηρήμωσεν καὶ ἠφάνισεν γῆν καὶ τὸ πλήρωμα αὐτῆς ἀπὸ φωνῆς ὠρύματος αὐτοῦ |

[8]καὶ ἔδωκαν ἐπ αὐτὸν ἔθνη ἐκ χωρῶν κυκλόθεν καὶ ἐξεπέτασαν ἐπ αὐτὸν δίκτυα αὐτῶν ἐν διαφθορᾷ αὐτῶν συνελήμφθη |
| [9]And they putH5414[H8799] him in wardH5474 in chainsH2397, and broughtH935[H8686] him to the kingH4428 of BabylonH894: they broughtH935[H8686] him into holdsH4685, that his voiceH6963 should no more be heardH8085[H8735] upon the mountainsH2022 of IsraelH3478. |
[9]καὶ ἔθεντο αὐτὸν ἐν κημῷ καὶ ἐν γαλεάγρᾳ ἦλθεν πρὸς βασιλέα βαβυλῶνος καὶ εἰσήγαγεν αὐτὸν εἰς φυλακήν ὅπως μὴ ἀκουσθῇ ἡ φωνὴ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη τοῦ ισραηλ |
| [10]Thy motherH517 is like a vineH1612 in thy bloodH1818[H8676][H1818], plantedH8362[H8803] by the watersH4325: she was fruitfulH6509[H8802] and full of branchesH6058 by reason of manyH7227 watersH4325. |
[10]ἡ μήτηρ σου ὡς ἄμπελος ὡς ἄνθος ἐν ῥόᾳ ἐν ὕδατι πεφυτευμένη ὁ καρπὸς αὐτῆς καὶ ὁ βλαστὸς αὐτῆς ἐγένετο ἐξ ὕδατος πολλοῦ |
| [11]And she had strongH5797 rodsH4294 for the sceptresH7626 of them that bare ruleH4910[H8802], and her statureH6967 was exaltedH1361[H8799] among the thick branchesH5688, and she appearedH7200[H8735] in her heightH1363 with the multitudeH7230 of her branchesH1808. |
[11]καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτῇ ῥάβδος ἰσχύος ἐπὶ φυλὴν ἡγουμένων καὶ ὑψώθη τῷ μεγέθει αὐτῆς ἐν μέσῳ στελεχῶν καὶ εἶδεν τὸ μέγεθος αὐτῆς ἐν πλήθει κλημάτων αὐτῆς |
| [12]But she was plucked upH5428[H8714] in furyH2534, she was cast downH7993[H8717] to the groundH776, and the eastH6921 windH7307 dried upH3001[H8689] her fruitH6529: her strongH5797 rodsH4294 were brokenH6561[H8694] and witheredH3001[H8804]; the fireH784 consumedH398 themH8804. |
[12]καὶ κατεκλάσθη ἐν θυμῷ ἐπὶ γῆν ἐρρίφη καὶ ἄνεμος ὁ καύσων ἐξήρανεν τὰ ἐκλεκτὰ αὐτῆς ἐξεδικήθη καὶ ἐξηράνθη ἡ ῥάβδος ἰσχύος αὐτῆς πῦρ ἀνήλωσεν αὐτήν |
| [13]And now she is plantedH8362[H8803] in the wildernessH4057, in a dryH6723 and thirstyH6772 groundH776. |
[13]καὶ νῦν πεφύτευκαν αὐτὴν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ἐν γῇ ἀνύδρῳ |
| [14]And fireH784 is gone outH3318[H8799] of a rodH4294 of her branchesH905, which hath devouredH398[H8804] her fruitH6529, so that she hath no strongH5797 rodH4294 to be a sceptreH7626 to ruleH4910[H8800]. This is a lamentationH7015, and shall be for a lamentationH7015. |
[14]καὶ ἐξῆλθεν πῦρ ἐκ ῥάβδου ἐκλεκτῶν αὐτῆς καὶ κατέφαγεν αὐτήν καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἐν αὐτῇ ῥάβδος ἰσχύος φυλὴ εἰς παραβολὴν θρήνου ἐστὶν καὶ ἔσται εἰς θρῆνον |
