| [3]καὶ ἐρεῖς τῷ δρυμῷ ναγεβ ἄκουε λόγον κυρίου τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀνάπτω ἐν σοὶ πῦρ καὶ καταφάγεται ἐν σοὶ πᾶν ξύλον χλωρὸν καὶ πᾶν ξύλον ξηρόν οὐ σβεσθήσεται ἡ φλὸξ ἡ ἐξαφθεῖσα καὶ κατακαυθήσεται ἐν αὐτῇ πᾶν πρόσωπον ἀπὸ ἀπηλιώτου ἕως βορρᾶ |
[3]And sayH559[H8804] to the landH127 of IsraelH3478, Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forthH3318[H8689] my swordH2719 out of his sheathH8593, and will cut offH3772[H8689] from thee the righteousH6662 and the wickedH7563. |
| [4]καὶ ἐπιγνώσονται πᾶσα σὰρξ ὅτι ἐγὼ κύριος ἐξέκαυσα αὐτό καὶ οὐ σβεσθήσεται |
[4]SeeingH3282 then that I will cut offH3772[H8689] from thee the righteousH6662 and the wickedH7563, therefore shall my swordH2719 go forthH3318[H8799] out of his sheathH8593 against all fleshH1320 from the southH5045 to the northH6828: |
| [5]καὶ εἶπα μηδαμῶς κύριε κύριε αὐτοὶ λέγουσιν πρός με οὐχὶ παραβολή ἐστιν λεγομένη αὕτη |
[5]That all fleshH1320 may knowH3045[H8804] that I the LORDH3068 have drawn forthH3318[H8689] my swordH2719 out of his sheathH8593: it shall not returnH7725 any moreH8799. |
| [6]καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων |
[6]SighH584[H8734] therefore, thou sonH1121 of manH120, with the breakingH7670 of thy loinsH4975; and with bitternessH4814 sighH584[H8735] before their eyesH5869. |
| [7]διὰ τοῦτο προφήτευσον υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου καὶ στήρισον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπὶ ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐπίβλεψον ἐπὶ τὰ ἅγια αὐτῶν καὶ προφητεύσεις ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν τοῦ ισραηλ |
[7]And it shall be, when they sayH559[H8799] unto thee, Wherefore sighestH584[H8737] thou? that thou shalt answerH559[H8804], For the tidingsH8052; because it comethH935[H8802]: and every heartH3820 shall meltH4549[H8738], and all handsH3027 shall be feebleH7503[H8804], and every spiritH7307 shall faintH3543[H8765], and all kneesH1290 shall be weakH3212[H8799] as waterH4325: behold, it comethH935[H8802], and shall be brought to passH1961[H8738], saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069. |
| [8]καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς τὴν γῆν τοῦ ισραηλ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ πρὸς σὲ καὶ ἐκσπάσω τὸ ἐγχειρίδιόν μου ἐκ τοῦ κολεοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω ἐκ σοῦ ἄδικον καὶ ἄνομον |

| [9]ἀνθ ὧν ἐξολεθρεύσω ἐκ σοῦ ἄδικον καὶ ἄνομον οὕτως ἐξελεύσεται τὸ ἐγχειρίδιόν μου ἐκ τοῦ κολεοῦ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πᾶσαν σάρκα ἀπὸ ἀπηλιώτου ἕως βορρᾶ |
[9]SonH1121 of manH120, prophesyH5012[H8734], and sayH559[H8804], Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068; SayH559[H8798], A swordH2719, a swordH2719 is sharpenedH2300[H8717], and also furbishedH4803:[H8803] |
| [10]καὶ ἐπιγνώσεται πᾶσα σὰρξ διότι ἐγὼ κύριος ἐξέσπασα τὸ ἐγχειρίδιόν μου ἐκ τοῦ κολεοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἀποστρέψει οὐκέτι |
[10]It is sharpenedH2300[H8717] to make a soreH2874 slaughterH2873[H8800]; it is furbishedH4178[H8794] that it may glitterH1300: shouldH176 we then make mirthH7797[H8799]? it contemnethH3988[H8802] the rodH7626 of my sonH1121, as every treeH6086. |
| [11]καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου καταστέναξον ἐν συντριβῇ ὀσφύος σου καὶ ἐν ὀδύναις στενάξεις κατ ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῶν |
[11]And he hath givenH5414[H8799] it to be furbishedH4803[H8800], that it may be handledH3709[H8610][H8800]: this swordH2719 is sharpenedH2300[H8717], and it is furbishedH4178[H8794], to giveH5414[H8800] it into the handH3027 of the slayerH2026.[H8802] |
| [12]καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν εἴπωσιν πρὸς σέ ἕνεκα τίνος σὺ στενάζεις καὶ ἐρεῖς ἐπὶ τῇ ἀγγελίᾳ διότι ἔρχεται καὶ θραυσθήσεται πᾶσα καρδία καὶ πᾶσαι χεῖρες παραλυθήσονται καὶ ἐκψύξει πᾶσα σὰρξ καὶ πᾶν πνεῦμα καὶ πάντες μηροὶ μολυνθήσονται ὑγρασίᾳ ἰδοὺ ἔρχεται καὶ ἔσται λέγει κύριος κύριος |

| [13]καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων |
[13]Because it is a trialH974[H8795], and what if the sword contemnH3988[H8802] even the rodH7626? it shall be no more, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069. |
| [14]υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου προφήτευσον καὶ ἐρεῖς τάδε λέγει κύριος εἰπόν ῥομφαία ῥομφαία ὀξύνου καὶ θυμώθητι |
[14]Thou therefore, sonH1121 of manH120, prophesyH5012[H8734], and smiteH5221 thine handsH3709[H3709] togetherH5221[H8685], and let the swordH2719 be doubledH3717[H8735] the thirdH7992 time, the swordH2719 of the slainH2491: it is the swordH2719 of the greatH1419 men that are slainH2491, which entereth into their privy chambersH2314.[H8802] |
| [15]ὅπως σφάξῃς σφάγια ὀξύνου ὅπως γένῃ εἰς στίλβωσιν ἑτοίμη εἰς παράλυσιν σφάζε ἐξουδένει ἀπωθοῦ πᾶν ξύλον |
[15]I have setH5414[H8804] the pointH19 of the swordH2719 against all their gatesH8179, that their heartH3820 may faintH4127[H8800], and their ruinsH4383 be multipliedH7235[H8687]: ahH253! it is madeH6213[H8803] brightH1300, it is wrapped upH4593 for the slaughterH2874. |
| [16]καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὴν ἑτοίμην τοῦ κρατεῖν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐξηκονήθη ῥομφαία ἔστιν ἑτοίμη τοῦ δοῦναι αὐτὴν εἰς χεῖρα ἀποκεντοῦντος |
[16]Go thee one way or otherH258[H8690], either onH7760[H8685] the right handH3231[H8685], or on the leftH8041[H8685], whithersoeverH575 thy faceH6440 is setH3259.[H8716] |
| [17]ἀνάκραγε καὶ ὀλόλυξον υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου ὅτι αὐτὴ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ λαῷ μου αὐτὴ ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἀφηγουμένοις τοῦ ισραηλ παροικήσουσιν ἐπὶ ῥομφαίᾳ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ λαῷ μου διὰ τοῦτο κρότησον ἐπὶ τὴν χεῖρά σου |
[17]I will also smiteH5221[H8686] mine handsH3709 togetherH3709, and I will cause my furyH2534 to restH5117[H8689]: I the LORDH3068 have saidH1696 itH8765. |
| [18]ὅτι δεδικαίωται καὶ τί εἰ καὶ φυλὴ ἀπώσθη οὐκ ἔσται λέγει κύριος κύριος |
[18]The wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came unto me again, sayingH559,[H8800] |
| [19]καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου προφήτευσον καὶ κρότησον χεῖρα ἐπὶ χεῖρα καὶ διπλασίασον ῥομφαίαν ἡ τρίτη ῥομφαία τραυματιῶν ἐστιν ῥομφαία τραυματιῶν ἡ μεγάλη καὶ ἐκστήσει αὐτούς |
[19]Also, thou sonH1121 of manH120, appointH7760[H8798] thee twoH8147 waysH1870, that the swordH2719 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 may comeH935[H8800]: both twainH8147 shall come forthH3318[H8799] out of oneH259 landH776: and chooseH1254[H8761] thou a placeH3027, chooseH1254[H8761] it at the headH7218 of the wayH1870 to the cityH5892. |
| [20]ὅπως θραυσθῇ ἡ καρδία καὶ πληθυνθῶσιν οἱ ἀσθενοῦντες ἐπὶ πᾶσαν πύλην αὐτῶν παραδέδονται εἰς σφάγια ῥομφαίας εὖ γέγονεν εἰς σφαγήν εὖ γέγονεν εἰς στίλβωσιν |
[20]AppointH7760[H8799] a wayH1870, that the swordH2719 may comeH935[H8800] to RabbathH7237 of the AmmonitesH1121[H5983], and to JudahH3063 in JerusalemH3389 the defencedH1219.[H8803] |
| [21]διαπορεύου ὀξύνου ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ ἐξ εὐωνύμων οὗ ἂν τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐξεγείρηται |
[21]For the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 stoodH5975[H8804] at the partingH517 of the wayH1870, at the headH7218 of the twoH8147 waysH1870, to useH7080[H8800] divinationH7081: he made his arrowsH2671 brightH7043[H8773], he consultedH7592[H8804] with imagesH8655, he lookedH7200[H8804] in the liverH3516. |
| [22]καὶ ἐγὼ δὲ κροτήσω χεῖρά μου πρὸς χεῖρά μου καὶ ἐναφήσω τὸν θυμόν μου ἐγὼ κύριος λελάληκα |
[22]At his right handH3225 was the divinationH7081 for JerusalemH3389, to appointH7760[H8800] captainsH3733, to openH6605[H8800] the mouthH6310 in the slaughterH7524, to lift upH7311[H8687] the voiceH6963 with shoutingH8643, to appointH7760[H8800] battering ramsH3733 against the gatesH8179, to castH8210[H8800] a mountH5550, and to buildH1129[H8800] a fortH1785. |
| [23]καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων |
[23]And it shall be unto them as a falseH7723 divinationH7080[H8800] in their sightH5869, to them that have swornH7650[H8803] oathsH7621: but he will call to remembranceH2142[H8688] the iniquityH5771, that they may be takenH8610.[H8736] |
| [24]καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου διάταξον σεαυτῷ δύο ὁδοὺς τοῦ εἰσελθεῖν ῥομφαίαν βασιλέως βαβυλῶνος ἐκ χώρας μιᾶς ἐξελεύσονται αἱ δύο καὶ χεὶρ ἐν ἀρχῇ ὁδοῦ πόλεως ἐπ ἀρχῆς |
[24]Therefore thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; Because ye have made your iniquityH5771 to be rememberedH2142[H8687], in that your transgressionsH6588 are discoveredH1540[H8736], so that in all your doingsH5949 your sinsH2403 do appearH7200[H8736]; because, I say, that ye are come to remembranceH2142[H8736], ye shall be takenH8610[H8735] with the handH3709. |
| [25]ὁδοῦ διατάξεις τοῦ εἰσελθεῖν ῥομφαίαν ἐπὶ ραββαθ υἱῶν αμμων καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν ιουδαίαν καὶ ἐπὶ ιερουσαλημ ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς |
[25]And thou, profaneH2491 wickedH7563 princeH5387 of IsraelH3478, whose dayH3117 is comeH935[H8804], whenH6256 iniquityH5771 shall have an endH7093, |
| [26]διότι στήσεται βασιλεὺς βαβυλῶνος ἐπὶ τὴν ἀρχαίαν ὁδὸν ἐπ ἀρχῆς τῶν δύο ὁδῶν τοῦ μαντεύσασθαι μαντείαν τοῦ ἀναβράσαι ῥάβδον καὶ ἐπερωτῆσαι ἐν τοῖς γλυπτοῖς καὶ ἡπατοσκοπήσασθαι ἐκ δεξιῶν αὐτοῦ |
[26]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; RemoveH5493[H8685] the diademH4701, and take offH7311[H8685] the crownH5850: this shall not be the sameH2063: exaltH1361[H8687] him that is lowH8217, and abaseH8213[H8687] him that is highH1364. |
| [27]ἐγένετο τὸ μαντεῖον ἐπὶ ιερουσαλημ τοῦ βαλεῖν χάρακα τοῦ διανοῖξαι στόμα ἐν βοῇ ὑψῶσαι φωνὴν μετὰ κραυγῆς τοῦ βαλεῖν χάρακα ἐπὶ τὰς πύλας αὐτῆς καὶ βαλεῖν χῶμα καὶ οἰκοδομῆσαι βελοστάσεις |

| [28]καὶ αὐτὸς αὐτοῖς ὡς μαντευόμενος μαντείαν ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν καὶ αὐτὸς ἀναμιμνῄσκων ἀδικίας αὐτοῦ μνησθῆναι |
[28]And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, prophesyH5012[H8734] and sayH559[H8804], Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069 concerning the AmmonitesH1121[H5983], and concerning their reproachH2781; even sayH559[H8804] thou, The swordH2719, the swordH2719 is drawnH6605[H8803]: for the slaughterH2874 it is furbishedH4803[H8803], to consumeH398[H8687] because of the glitteringH1300: |
| [29]διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἀνθ ὧν ἀνεμνήσατε τὰς ἀδικίας ὑμῶν ἐν τῷ ἀποκαλυφθῆναι τὰς ἀσεβείας ὑμῶν τοῦ ὁραθῆναι ἁμαρτίας ὑμῶν ἐν πάσαις ταῖς ἀσεβείαις ὑμῶν καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἐπιτηδεύμασιν ὑμῶν ἀνθ ὧν ἀνεμνήσατε ἐν τούτοις ἁλώσεσθε |

| [30]καὶ σύ βέβηλε ἄνομε ἀφηγούμενε τοῦ ισραηλ οὗ ἥκει ἡ ἡμέρα ἐν καιρῷ ἀδικίας πέρας |
[30]Shall I cause it to returnH7725[H8685] into his sheathH8593? I will judgeH8199[H8799] thee in the placeH4725 where thou wast createdH1254[H8738], in the landH776 of thy nativityH4351. |
| [31]τάδε λέγει κύριος ἀφείλου τὴν κίδαριν καὶ ἐπέθου τὸν στέφανον αὕτη οὐ τοιαύτη ἔσται ἐταπείνωσας τὸ ὑψηλὸν καὶ τὸ ταπεινὸν ὕψωσας |
[31]And I will pour outH8210[H8804] mine indignationH2195 upon thee, I will blowH6315[H8686] against thee in the fireH784 of my wrathH5678, and deliverH5414[H8804] thee into the handH3027 of brutishH1197[H8802] menH582, and skilfulH2796 to destroyH4889. |
| [32]ἀδικίαν ἀδικίαν θήσομαι αὐτήν οὐδ αὕτη τοιαύτη ἔσται ἕως οὗ ἔλθῃ ᾧ καθήκει καὶ παραδώσω αὐτῷ |
[32]Thou shalt be for fuelH402 to the fireH784; thy bloodH1818 shall be in the midstH8432 of the landH776; thou shalt be no more rememberedH2142[H8735]: for I the LORDH3068 have spokenH1696 itH8765. |
| [33]καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου προφήτευσον καὶ ἐρεῖς τάδε λέγει κύριος πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς αμμων καὶ πρὸς τὸν ὀνειδισμὸν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐρεῖς ῥομφαία ῥομφαία ἐσπασμένη εἰς σφάγια καὶ ἐσπασμένη εἰς συντέλειαν ἐγείρου ὅπως στίλβῃς |
