[1]MOREOVER the word of the LORD came to me, saying, |
[1]Moreover the word of 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 came unto me, saying: |
[2]Son of man, set your face against mount Seir and prophesy against it, |
[2]'Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it, |
[3]And say to it, Thus says the LORD God: Behold, I am against you, O mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you desolate and waste. |
[3]And say unto it: Thus saith the Lord 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇: Behold, I am against thee, O mount Seir, and I will stretch out My hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate. |
[4]And I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate, and you shall know that I am the LORD. |
[4]I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate; and thou shalt know that I am 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇. |
[5]Because you have had a perpetual enmity and delivered the children of Israel over to the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time when their iniquity had come to an end, |
[5]Because thou hast had a hatred of old, and hast hurled the children of Israel unto the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end; |
[6]Therefore, as I live, says the LORD God, I will deliver you to the slaughter, and blood shall pursue you; the blood which you have hated, that very blood shall pursue you. |
[6]Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee; surely thou hast hated thine own blood, therefore blood shall pursue thee. |
[7]I will make mount Seir waste and desolate, and destroy from it him that goes out and him that comes in. |
[7]Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth through and him that returneth. |
[8]And I will fill his mountains with his slain; on your crags and on your hills and in your valleys shall they fall that are slain with the sword. |
[8]And I will fill his mountains with his slain; in thy hills and in thy valleys and in all thy streams shall they fall that are slain with the sword. |
[9]I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities shall not be inhabited; and you shall know that I am the LORD |
[9]I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return; and ye shall know that I am 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇. |
[10]Because you have said, These two nations and these two kingdoms are mine, and we will possess them, though the LORD was there; |
[10]Because thou hast said: These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 was there; |
[11]Therefore, as I live, says the LORD God, I will do to you according to your own anger and according to your enmity which you showed toward them, and hatred to them; and I will make myself known among them when I have judged you. |
[11]Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇, I will do according to thine anger and according to thine envy, which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make Myself known among them, when I shall judge thee. |
[12]And you shall know that I am the LORD and that I have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume. |
[12]And thou shalt know that I 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying: They are laid desolate, they are given us to devour. |
[13]Thus you dared to speak against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me; I heard them. |
[13]And ye have magnified yourselves against Me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against Me; I have heard it. |
[14]Thus says the LORD God to mount Seir which is situated at the happiest place on the earth: I will make you desolate. |
[14]Thus saith the Lord 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇: When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate. |
[15]As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so will I do to you; you shall be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it; and they shall know that I am the LORD |
[15]As thou didst rejoice over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee; thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it; and they shall know that I am 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇. |
