[1]Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. |
| [2]ὅτιC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3P ἀπόP θυγάτηρN3-GPF αὐτόςRD-GPM ἑαυτοῦRD-DPM καίC ὁRA-DPM υἱόςN2-DPM αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC παραἄγωVQI-API3S σπέρμαN3M-ASN ὁRA-ASN ἅγιοςA1A-ASN ἐνP λαόςN2-DPM ὁRA-GPF γαῖαN1A-GPF καίC χείρN3-NSF ὁRA-GPM ἄρχωνN3-GPM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἀσυνθεσίαN1A-DSF οὗτοςRD-DSF ἐνP ἀρχήN1-DSF |
[2]For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass. |
| [3]καίC ὡςC ἀκούωVAI-AAI1S ὁRA-ASM λόγοςN2-ASM οὗτοςRD-ASM διαῥήγνυμιVAI-AAI1S ὁRA-APN ἱμάτιονN2N-APN ἐγώRP-GS καίC πάλλομαιV1I-IMI1S καίC τίλλωV1I-IAI1S ἀπόP ὁRA-GPF θρίξN3-GPF ὁRA-GSF κεφαλήN1-GSF ἐγώRP-GS καίC ἀπόP ὁRA-GSM πώγωνN3W-GSM ἐγώRP-GS καίC καταἧμαιV5I-IMI1S ἠρεμάζωV1-PAPNSM |
[3]And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down confounded. |
| [4]καίC συνἄγωVQI-API3P πρόςP ἐγώRP-AS πᾶςA3-NSM ὁRA-NSM διώκωV1-PAPNSM λόγοςN2-ASM θεόςN2-GSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἐπίP ἀσυνθεσίαA1A-DSF ὁRA-GSF ἀποικίαN1A-GSF καίC ἐγώRP-NS καταἧμαιV5-PMPNSM ἠρεμάζωνV1-PAPNSM ἕωςC ὁRA-GSF θυσίαN1A-GSF ὁRA-GSF ἑσπερινόςA1-GSF |
[4]Then were assembled to me every one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat confounded until the evening sacrifice. |
| [5]καίC ἐνP θυσίαN1A-DSF ὁRA-DSF ἑσπερινόςA1-DSF ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI1S ἀπόP ταπείνωσιςN3I-GSF ἐγώRP-GS καίC ἐνP ὁRA-DSN διαῥήγνυμιVA-AAN ἐγώRP-AS ὁRA-APN ἱμάτιονN2N-APN ἐγώRP-GS καίC πάλλομαιV1I-IMI1S καίC κλίνωV1-PAI1S ἐπίP ὁRA-APN γόνυN3-APN ἐγώRP-GS καίC ἐκπετάζωV1-PAI1S ὁRA-APF χείρN3-APF ἐγώRP-GS πρόςP κύριοςN2-ASM ὁRA-ASM θεόςN2-ASM |
[5]And at the evening sacrifice I arose from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands to the LORD my God, |
| [6]καίC εἶπονVAI-AAI1S κύριοςN2-VSM αἰσχύνωVCI-API1S καίC ἐντρέπωVDI-API1S ὁRA-GSM ὑψόωV4-PAPNPF ὁRA-ASN πρόσωπονN2N-ASN ἐγώRP-GS πρόςP σύRP-AS ὅτιC ὁRA-NPF ἀνομίαN1A-NPF ἐγώRP-GP πληθύνωVCI-API3P ὑπέρP κεφαλήN1-GSF ἐγώRP-GP καίC ὁRA-NPF πλημμέλειαN1A-NPF ἐγώRP-GP μεγαλύνωVCI-API3P ἕωςC εἰςP οὐρανόςN2-ASM |
[6]And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up to the heavens. |
| [7]ἀπόP ἡμέραN1A-GPF πατήρN3-GPM ἐγώRP-GP εἰμίV9-PAI1P ἐνP πλημμέλειαN1A-DSF μέγαςA1-DSF ἕωςC ὁRA-GSF ἡμέραN1A-GSF οὗτοςRD-GSF καίC ἐνP ὁRA-DPF ἀνομίαN1A-DPF ἐγώRP-GP παραδίδωμιVCI-API1P ἐγώRP-NP καίC ὁRA-NPM βασιλεύςN3V-NPM ἐγώRP-GP καίC ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM ἐγώRP-GP ἐνP χείρN3-DSF βασιλεύςN3V-GPM ὁRA-GPN ἔθνοςN3E-GPN ἐνP ῥομφαίαN1A-DSF καίC ἐνP αἰχμαλωσίαN1A-DSF καίC ἐνP διαρπαγήN1-DSF καίC ἐνP αἰσχύνηN1-DSF πρόσωπονN2N-GSN ἐγώRP-GP ὡςC ὁRA-NSF ἡμέραN1A-NSF οὗτοςRD-NSF |
[7]Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass to this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day. |
| [8]καίC νῦνD ἐπιεἰκούομαιVAI-AMI3S ἐγώRP-DP κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ἐγώRP-GP ὁRA-GSN καταλείπωVB-AAN ἐγώRP-DP εἰςP σωτηρίαN1A-ASF καίC δίδωμιVO-AAN ἐγώRP-DP στήριγμαN3M-ASN ἐνP τόποςN2-DSM ἁγίασμαN3M-GSN αὐτόςRD-GSM ὁRA-GSN φωτίζωVA-AAN ὀφθαλμόςN2-APM ἐγώRP-GP καίC δίδωμιVO-AAN ζωοποιέωVA-AAS3P μικρόςA1A-ASF ἐνP ὁRA-DSF δουλείαN1A-DSF ἐγώRP-GP |
[8]And now for a little space grace hath been shown from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage. |
| [9]ὅτιC δοῦλοςN2-NPM εἰμίV9-PAI1P καίC ἐνP ὁRA-DSF δουλείαN1A-DSF ἐγώRP-GP οὐD ἐν καταλείπωVBI-AAI3S ἐγώRP-AP κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ἐγώRP-GP καίC κλίνωV1I-IAI3S ἐπίP ἐγώRP-AP ἔλεοςN2-NSM ἐνώπιοςA1B-ASM βασιλεύςN3V-GPM *πέρσηςN1M-GPM δίδωμιVO-AAN ἐγώRP-DP ζωοποιέωVA-AAS3P ὁRA-GSM ὑψόωV4-PAPNPF αὐτόςRD-APM ὁRA-ASM οἶκοςN2-ASM ὁRA-GSM θεόςN2-GSM ἐγώRP-GP καίC ἀναἵστημιVA-AAN ὁRA-APN ἔρημαN3-APN αὐτόςRD-GSF καίC ὁRA-GSN δίδωμιVO-AAN ἐγώRP-DP φραγμόςN2-ASM ἐνP *ἰουδάN--DSM καίC ἐνP *ἰερουσαλήμN--DSF |
[9]For we were bond-men; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations of it, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem. |

[10]And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments, |
| [11]ὅςRR-APF δίδωμιVAI-AAI2S ἐγώRP-DP ἐνP χείρN3-DSF δοῦλοςN2-GPM σύRP-GS ὁRA-GPM προφήτηςN1M-GPM λέγωV1-PAPNSM ὁRA-NSF γῆN1-NSF εἰςP ὅςRR-ASF εἰςπορεύομαιV1-PMI2P κληρονομέωVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-ASF γῆN1-NSF μετακινέωV2-PMPNSF εἰμίV9-PAI3S ἐνP μετακινέωVF-FAI3S λαόςN2-GPM ὁRA-GPN ἔθνοςN3E-GPN ἐνP μάκρυμμαN3M-DPN αὐτόςRD-GPM ὅςRR-GPM πίμπλημιVAI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-ASF ἀπόP στόμαN3M-GSN ἐπίP στόμαN3M-ASN ἐνP ἀκαθαρσίαN1A-DPF αὐτόςRD-GPM |
[11]Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, to which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness. |
| [12]καίC νῦνD ὁRA-APF θυγάτηρN3-APF σύRP-GP μήD δίδωμιVO-AAS2P ὁRA-DPM υἱόςN2-DPM αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC ἀπόP ὁRA-GPM θυγάτηρN3-GPF αὐτόςRD-GPM μήD λαμβάνωVB-AAS2P ὁRA-DPM υἱόςN2-DPM σύRP-GP καίC οὐD ἐκζητέωVF-FAI2P εἰρήνηN1-ASF αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC ἀγαθόςA1-ASM αὐτόςRD-GPM ἕωςC αἰώνN3W-GSM ὅπωςC ἐνἰσχύωVA-AAS2P καίC ἐσθίωVB-AAS2P ὁRA-APN ἀγαθόςA1-APN ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF καίC κληροδοτέωVA-AAS2P ὁRA-DPM υἱόςN2-DPM σύRP-GP ἕωςC αἰώνN3W-GSM |
[12]Now therefore give not your daughters to their sons, neither take their daughters to your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever. |
| [13]καίC μετάP πᾶςA3-NSN ὁRA-ASN ἔρχομαιV1-PMPASM ἐπίP ἐγώRP-AP ἐνP ποίημαN3M-DPN ἐγώRP-GP ὁRA-DPM πονηρόςA1A-DPM καίC ἐνP πλημμέλειαN1A-DSF ἐγώRP-GP ὁRA-DSF μέγαςA1-DSF ὅτιC οὐD εἰμίV9-PAI3S ὡςC ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ἐγώRP-GP ὅτιC κουφίζωVAI-AAI2S ἐγώRP-GP ὁRA-APF ἀνομίαN1A-GSF καίC δίδωμιVAI-AAI2S ἐγώRP-DP σωτηρίαN1A-ASF |
[13]And after all that hath come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such deliverance as this; |
| [14]ὅτιC ἐπιστρέφωVAI-AAI1P διασκεδάζωVA-AAN ἐντολήN1-APF σύRP-GS καίC ἐπιγαμβρεύωVA-AAN ὁRA-DPM λαόςN2-DPM ὁRA-GPM γαῖαN1A-GPF μήD παραὀξύνωVC-APS2S ἐνP ἐγώRP-DP ἕωςC συντέλειαN1A-GSF ὁRA-GSM μήD εἰμίV9-PAN ἐγκατάλειμμαN3M-NSN καίC διασώζωV1-PMPASM |
[14]Should we again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the people of these abominations? wouldst thou not be angry with us till thou hadst consumed us, so that there should be no remnant nor escaping? |

[15]O LORD God of Israel, thou art righteous: for we having escaped, remain yet, as it is this day: behold, we are before thee in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before thee because of this. |
