| [1]My brethren, if one of you should be overtaken in a fault, do ye who are of the Spirit recover him, in a spirit of meekness: and be ye cautious, lest ye also be tempted. |
[1]Ἀδελφοί, ἐὰν καὶ προληφθῇ ἄνθρωπος ἔν τινι παραπτώματι, ὑμεῖς οἱ πνευματικοὶ καταρτίζετε τὸν τοιοῦτον ἐν πνεύματι πρᾳότητος, σκοπῶν σεαυτόν, μὴ καὶ σὺ πειρασθῇς. |
| [2]And bear ye one another's burdens, that so ye may fulfill the law of the Messiah. |
[2]Ἀλλήλων τὰ βάρη βαστάζετε, καὶ οὕτως ἀναπληρώσατε τὸν νόμον τοῦ Χριστοῦ. |
| [3]For if any one thinketh himself to be something, when he is not, he deceiveth himself. |
[3]εἰ γὰρ δοκεῖ τις εἶναί τι, μηδὲν ὤν, ἑαυτὸν φρεναπατᾷ· |
| [4]But let a man examine his own conduct; and then his glorying will be within himself, and not in others. |
[4]τὸ δὲ ἔργον ἑαυτοῦ δοκιμαζέτω ἕκαστος, καὶ τότε εἰς ἑαυτὸν μόνον τὸ καύχημα ἕξει, καὶ οὐκ εἰς τὸν ἕτερον. |
| [5]For every man must take up his own load. |
[5]ἕκαστος γὰρ τὸ ἴδιον φορτίον βαστάσει. |
| [6]And let him that heareth the word, communicate to him who instructeth him, in all good things. |
[6]Κοινωνείτω δὲ ὁ κατηχούμενος τὸν λόγον τῷ κατηχοῦντι ἐν πᾶσιν ἀγαθοῖς. |
| [7]Do not mistake; God is not deceived; for what a man soweth, that also will he reap. |
[7]Μὴ πλανᾶσθε, Θεὸς οὐ μυκτηρίζεται· ὃ γὰρ ἐὰν σπείρῃ ἄνθρωπος τοῦτο καὶ θερίσει. |
| [8]He who soweth in the flesh, reapeth from the flesh corruption: and he who soweth in the Spirit, will from the Spirit reap life everlasting. |
[8]ὅτι ὁ σπείρων εἰς τὴν σάρκα ἑαυτοῦ, ἐκ τῆς σαρκὸς θερίσει φθοράν· ὁ δὲ σπείρων εἰς τὸ Πνεῦμα ἐκ τοῦ Πνεύματος θερίσει ζωὴν αἰώνιον. |
| [9]And while we do what is good, let it not be wearisome to us; for the time will come when we shall reap, and it will not be tedious to us. |
[9]τὸ δὲ καλὸν ποιοῦντες μὴ ἐκκακῶμεν· καιρῷ γὰρ ἰδίῳ θερίσομεν, μὴ ἐκλυόμενοι. |
| [10]Now, therefore, while we have the opportunity, let us practice good works towards all men, and especially towards them of the household of faith. |
[10]ἄρα οὖν ὡς καιρὸν ἔχομεν, ἐργαζώμεθα τὸ ἀγαθὸν πρὸς πάντας, μάλιστα δὲ πρὸς τοὺς οἰκείους τῆς πίστεως. |
| [11]Behold, this epistle have I written to you with my own hand. |
[11]Ἴδετε πηλίκοις ὑμῖν γράμμασιν ἔγραψα τῇ ἐμῇ χειρί. |
| [12]They who are disposed to glory in the flesh, they urge you to become circumcised, only that they may not be persecuted on account of the cross of the Messiah. |
[12]ὅσοι θέλουσιν εὐπροσωπῆσαι ἐν σαρκί, οὗτοι ἀναγκάζουσιν ὑμᾶς περιτέμνεσθαι, μόνον ἵνα μὴ τῷ σταυρῷ τοῦ Χριστοῦ διώκωνται. |
| [13]For not even they themselves, who are circumcised, keep the law: but they wish you to become circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. |
[13]οὐδὲ γὰρ οἱ περιτεμνόμενοι αὐτοὶ νόμον φυλάσσουσιν, ἀλλὰ θέλουσιν ὑμᾶς περιτέμνεσθαι, ἵνα ἐν τῇ ὑμετέρᾳ σαρκὶ καυχήσωνται. |
| [14]But as for me, let me not glory, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus the Messiah; by whom the world is crucified to me, and I am crucified to the world. |
[14]ἐμοὶ δὲ μὴ γένοιτο καυχᾶσθαι εἰ μὴ ἐν τῷ σταυρῷ τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ· δι’ οὗ ἐμοὶ κόσμος ἐσταύρωται, κἀγὼ τῷ κόσμῳ. |
| [15]For circumcision is nothing; neither is uncircumcision; but a new creation. |
[15]ἐν γὰρ Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ οὔτε περιτομή τί ἰσχύει, οὔτε ἀκροβυστία, ἀλλὰ καινὴ κτίσις. |
| [16]And they who press forward in this path, peace be on them, and mercy; and on the Israel of God. |
[16]καὶ ὅσοι τῷ κανόνι τούτῳ στοιχήσουσιν, εἰρήνη ἐπ’ αὐτούς, καὶ ἔλεος, καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν Ἰσραὴλ τοῦ Θεοῦ. |
| [17]Henceforth let no one put trouble upon me; for I bear in my body the marks of our Lord Jesus the Messiah. |
[17]Τοῦ λοιποῦ, κόπους μοι μηδεὶς παρεχέτω· ἐγὼ γὰρ τὰ στίγματα τοῦ Κυριοῦ Ἰησοῦ ἐν τῷ σώματί μου βαστάζω. |
| [18]My brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, be with your spirit. Amen.End of the Epistle to the Galatians; which was written from Rome. |
[18]Ἡ χάρις τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ μετὰ τοῦ πνεύματος ὑμῶν, ἀδελφοί. ἀμήν. |
