[1]And 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 remembered Sarah as He had said, and 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 did unto Sarah as He had spoken. |
[2]καίC συνλαμβάνωVB-AAPNSF τίκτωVBI-AAI3S *σαρραN--NSF ὁRA-DSM *αβρααμN--DSM υἱόςN2-ASM εἰςP ὁRA-ASN γῆραςN3-ASN εἰςP ὁRA-ASM καιρόςN2-ASM καθάD λαλέωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM κύριοςN2-NSM |
[2]And Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. |
[3]καίC καλέωVAI-AAI3S *αβρααμN--NSM ὁRA-ASN ὄνομαN3M-ASN ὁRA-GSM υἱόςN2-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSM ὁRA-GSM γίγνομαιVB-AMPGSM αὐτόςRD-DSM ὅςRR-ASM τίκτωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM *σαρραN--NSF *ισαακN--ASM |
[3]And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac. |
[4]περιτέμνωVBI-AAI3S δέX *αβρααμN--NSM ὁRA-ASM *ισαακN--ASM ὁRA-DSF ὄγδοοςA1-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF καθάD ἐντέλλομαιVAI-AMI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM |
[4]And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him. |
[5]*αβρααμN--NSM δέX εἰμίV9-IAI3S ἑκατόνM ἔτοςN3E-GPN ἡνίκαD γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM *ισαακN--NSM ὁRA-NSM υἱόςN2-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[5]And Abraham was a hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. |
[6]εἶπονVBI-AAI3S δέX *σαρραN--NSF γέλωςN3T-ASM ἐγώRP-DS ποιέωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὅςRR-NSM γάρX ἄνX ἀκούωVA-AAS3S συνχαίρωVF-FMI3S ἐγώRP-DS |
[6]And Sarah said: 'God hath made laughter for me; every one that heareth will laugh on account of me.' |
[7]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S τίςRI-NSM ἀναἀγγέλλωVF2-FAI3S ὁRA-DSM *αβρααμN--DSM ὅτιC θηλάζωV1-PAI3S παιδίονN2N-ASN *σαρραN--NSF ὅτιC τίκτωVBI-AAI3P υἱόςN2-ASM ἐνP ὁRA-DSN γῆραςN3-DSN ἐγώRP-GS |
[7]And she said: 'Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should give children suck? for I have borne him a son in his old age.' |
[8]καίC αὐξάνωVCI-API3S ὁRA-NSN παιδίονN2N-NSN καίC ἀπογαλακτίζωVSI-API3S καίC ποιέωVAI-AAI3S *αβρααμN--NSM δοχήN1-ASF μέγαςA1-ASF ὅςRR-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ἀπογαλακτίζωVSI-API3S *ισαακN--NSM ὁRA-NSM υἱόςN2-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[8]And the child grew, and was weaned. And Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned. |
[9]ὁράωVB-AAPNSF δέX *σαρραN--NSF ὁRA-ASM υἱόςN2-ASM *αγαρN--GSF ὁRA-GSF *αἰγυπτίαA1-GSF ὅςRR-NSM γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ὁRA-DSM *αβρααμN--DSM παίζωV1-PAPASM μετάP *ισαακN--GSM ὁRA-GSM υἱόςN2-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSF |
[9]And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne unto Abraham, making sport. |
[10]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-DSM *αβρααμN--DSM ἐκβάλλωVB-AAD2S ὁRA-ASF παιδίσκηN1-ASF οὗτοςRD-ASF καίC ὁRA-ASM υἱόςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GSF οὐD γάρX κληρονομέωVF-FAI3S ὁRA-NSM υἱόςN2-NSM ὁRA-GSF παιδίσκηN1-GSF οὗτοςRD-GSF μετάP ὁRA-GSM υἱόςN2-GSM ἐγώRP-GS *ισαακN--GSM |
[10]Wherefore she said unto Abraham: 'Cast out the bondwoman and her son; for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.' |
[11]σκληρόςA1A-NSN δέX φαίνωVDI-API3S ὁRA-NSN ῥῆμαN3M-NSN σφόδραD ἐναντίονP *αβρααμN--GSM περίP ὁRA-GSM υἱόςN2-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[11]And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight on account of his son. |
[12]εἶπονVBI-AAI3S δέX ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-DSM *αβρααμN--DSM μήD σκληρόςA1A-NSN εἰμίV9-PAD3S ὁRA-NSN ῥῆμαN3M-NSN ἐναντίονP σύRP-GS περίP ὁRA-GSN παιδίονN2N-GSN καίC περίP ὁRA-GSF παιδίσκηN1-GSF πᾶςA3-APN ὅσοςA1-APN ἐάνC εἶπονVBI-AAS3S σύRP-DS *σαρραN--NSF ἀκούωV1-PAD2S ὁRA-GSF φωνήN1-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSF ὅτιC ἐνP *ισαακN--DSM καλέωVC-FPI3S σύRP-DS σπέρμαN3M-NSN |
[12]And God said unto Abraham: 'Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah saith unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall seed be called to thee. |

[13]And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.' |
[14]ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3S δέX *αβρααμN--NSM ὁRA-ASN πρωΐD καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S ἄρτοςN2-APM καίC ἀσκόςN2-ASM ὕδωρN3T-GSN καίC δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S *αγαρN--DSF καίC ἐπιτίθημιVAI-AAI3S ἐπίP ὁRA-ASM ὦμοςN2-ASM καίC ὁRA-ASN παιδίονN2N-ASN καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASF ἀποἔρχομαιVB-AAPNSF δέX πλανάωV3I-IMI3S ὁRA-ASF ἔρημοςN2-ASF κατάP ὁRA-ASN φρέαρN3T-ASN ὁRA-GSM ὅρκοςN2-GSM |
[14]And Abraham arose up early in the morning, and took bread and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away; and she departed, and strayed in the wilderness of Beer-sheba. |
[15]ἐκλείπωVBI-AAI3S δέX ὁRA-NSN ὕδωρN3-NSN ἐκP ὁRA-GSM ἀσκόςN2-GSM καίC ῥίπτωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN παιδίονN2N-ASN ὑποκάτωP εἷςA1A-GSF ἐλάτηN1-GSF |
[15]And the water in the bottle was spent, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs. |
[16]ἀποἔρχομαιVB-AAPNSF δέX κάθημαιV1I-IMI3S ἀπέναντιP αὐτόςRD-GSM μακρόθενD ὡσείD τόξονN2N-GSN βολήN1-ASF εἶπονVBI-AAI3S γάρX οὐD μήD ὁράωVB-AAS1S ὁRA-ASM θάνατοςN2-ASM ὁRA-GSN παιδίονN2N-GSN ἐγώRP-GS καίC καταἵζωVAI-AAI3S ἀπέναντιP αὐτόςRD-GSM ἀναβοάωVA-AAPNSN δέX ὁRA-NSN παιδίονN2N-NSN κλαίωVAI-AAI3S |
[16]And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bow-shot; for she said: 'Let me not look upon the death of the child.' And she sat over against him, and lifted up her voice, and wept. |
[17]εἰςἀκούωVAI-AAI3S δέX ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-GSF φωνήN1-GSF ὁRA-GSN παιδίονN2N-GSN ἐκP ὁRA-GSM τόποςN2-GSM οὗD εἰμίV9-IAI3S καίC καλέωVAI-AAI3S ἄγγελοςN2-NSM ὁRA-GSM θεόςN2-GSM ὁRA-ASF *αγαρN--ASF ἐκP ὁRA-GSM οὐρανόςN2-GSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSF τίςRI-NSN εἰμίV9-PAI3S *αγαρN--VSF μήD φοβέωV2-PMD2S ἐπιἀκούωVX-XAI3S γάρX ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-GSF φωνήN1-GSF ὁRA-GSN παιδίονN2N-GSN σύRP-GS ἐκP ὁRA-GSM τόποςN2-GSM οὗD εἰμίV9-PAI3S |
[17]And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her: 'What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is. |
[18]ἀναἵστημιVH-AAD2S λαμβάνωVB-AAD2S ὁRA-ASN παιδίονN2N-ASN καίC κρατέωVA-AAD2S ὁRA-DSF χείρN3-DSF σύRP-GS αὐτόςRD-ASN εἰςP γάρX ἔθνοςN3E-ASN μέγαςA1P-ASN ποιέωVF-FAI1S αὐτόςRD-ASM |
[18]Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him fast by thy hand; for I will make him a great nation.' |
[19]καίC ἀναοἴγωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-APM ὀφθαλμόςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GSF καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3S φρέαρN3T-ASN ὕδωρN3T-GSN ζάωV3-PAPGSN καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3S καίC πίμπλημιVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASM ἀσκόςN2-ASM ὕδωρN3T-GSN καίC ποτίζωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN παιδίονN2N-ASN |
[19]And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink. |
[20]καίC εἰμίV9-IAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM μετάP ὁRA-GSN παιδίονN2N-GSN καίC αὐξάνωVCI-API3S καίC καταοἰκέωVAI-AAI3S ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἔρημοςN2-DSF γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S δέX τοξότηςN1M-NSM |
[20]And God was with the lad, and he grew; and he dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer. |
[21]καίC καταοἰκέωVAI-AAI3S ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἔρημοςN2-DSF ὁRA-DSF *φαρανN--ASF καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM ὁRA-NSF μήτηρN3-NSF γυνήN3K-ASF ἐκP γῆN1-GSF *αἴγυπτοςN2-GSF |
[21]And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran; and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt. |
[22]γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S δέX ἐνP ὁRA-DSM καιρόςN2-DSM ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *αβιμελεχN--NSM καίC *οχοζαθN--NSM ὁRA-NSM νυμφαγωγόςN2-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC *φικολN--NSM ὁRA-NSM ἀρχιστράτηγοςN2-NSM ὁRA-GSF δύναμιςN3I-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM πρόςP *αβρααμN--ASM λέγωV1-PAPNSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM μετάP σύRP-GS ἐνP πᾶςA3-DPN ὅςRR-DPN ἐάνC ποιέωV2-PAS2S |
[22]And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phicol the captain of his host spoke unto Abraham, saying: 'God is with thee in all that thou doest. |
[23]νῦνD οὖνX ὄμνυμιVA-AAD2S ἐγώRP-DS ὁRA-ASM θεόςN2-ASM μήD ἀδικέωVF-FAN ἐγώRP-AS μηδέC ὁRA-ASN σπέρμαN3M-ASN ἐγώRP-GS μηδέC ὁRA-ASN ὄνομαN3M-ASN ἐγώRP-GS ἀλλάC κατάP ὁRA-ASF δικαιοσύνηN1-ASF ὅςRR-ASF ποιέωVAI-AAI1S μετάP σύRP-GS ποιέωVF-FAI2S μετάP ἐγώRP-GS καίC ὁRA-DSF γῆN1-DSF ὅςRR-DSF σύRP-NS παραοἰκέωVAI-AAI2S ἐνP αὐτόςRD-DSF |
[23]Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son; but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.' |
[24]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *αβρααμN--NSM ἐγώRP-NS ὄμνυμιVF-FMI1S |
[24]And Abraham said: 'I will swear.' |
[25]καίC ἐλέγχωVAI-AAI3S *αβρααμN--NSM ὁRA-ASM *αβιμελεχN--NSM περίP ὁRA-GPN φρέαρN3T-GPN ὁRA-GSN ὕδωρN3T-GSN ὅςRR-GPN ἀποαἱρέωVBI-AMI3P ὁRA-NPM παῖςN3D-NPM ὁRA-GSM *αβιμελεχN--GSM |
[25]And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of the well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away. |
[26]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM *αβιμελεχN--NSM οὐD γιγνώσκωVZI-AAI1S τίςRI-NSM ποιέωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN πρᾶγμαN3M-ASN οὗτοςRD-ASN οὐδέC σύRP-NS ἐγώRP-DS ἀποἀγγέλλωVAI-AAI2S οὐδέC ἐγώRP-NS ἀκούωVAI-AAI1S ἀλλάC ἤC σήμερονD |
[26]And Abimelech said: 'I know not who hath done this thing; neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to-day.' |
[27]καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S *αβρααμN--NSM πρόβατονN2N-APN καίC μόσχοςN2-APM καίC δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-DSM *αβιμελεχN--DSM καίC διατίθημιVEI-AMI3P ἀμφότεροιA1A-NPM διαθήκηN1-ASF |
[27]And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and they two made a covenant. |
[28]καίC ἵστημιVAI-AAI3S *αβρααμN--NSM ἑπτάM ἀμνάςN3D-APF πρόβατονN2N-GPN μόνοςA1-APF |
[28]And Abraham set seven ewe-lambs of the flock by themselves. |
[29]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *αβιμελεχN--NSM ὁRA-DSM *αβρααμN--DSM τίςRI-NSN εἰμίV9-PAI3P ὁRA-NPF ἑπτάM ἀμνάςN3D-NPF ὁRA-GPN πρόβατονN2N-GPN οὗτοςRD-GPN ὅςRR-APF ἵστημιVAI-AAI2S μόνοςA1-APF |
[29]And Abimelech said unto Abraham: 'What mean these seven ewe-lambs which thou hast set by themselves?' |
[30]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *αβρααμN--NSM ὅτιC ὁRA-APF ἑπτάM ἀμνάςN3D-APF οὗτοςRD-APF λαμβάνωVF-FMI2S παράP ἐγώRP-GS ἵναC εἰμίV9-PAS3P ἐγώRP-DS εἰςP μαρτύριονN2N-ASN ὅτιC ἐγώRP-NS ὀρύσσωVAI-AAI1S ὁRA-ASN φρέαρN3T-ASN οὗτοςRD-ASN |
[30]And he said: 'Verily, these seven ewe-lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that it may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.' |
[31]διάP οὗτοςRD-ASN ἐπιὀνομάζωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN ὄνομαN3M-ASN ὁRA-GSM τόποςN2-GSM ἐκεῖνοςRD-GSM *φρέαρN3T-NSN ὁρκισμόςN2-GSM ὅτιC ἐκεῖD ὄμνυμιVAI-AAI3P ἀμφότεροιA1A-NPM |
[31]Wherefore that place was called Beer-sheba; because there they swore both of them. |
[32]καίC διατίθημιVEI-AMI3P διαθήκηN1-ASF ἐνP ὁRA-DSN φρέαρN3T-DSN ὁRA-GSM ὅρκοςN2-GSM ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3S δέX *αβιμελεχN--NSM καίC *οχοζαθN--NSM ὁRA-NSM νυμφαγωγόςN2-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC *φικολN--NSM ὁRA-NSM ἀρχιστράτηγοςN2-NSM ὁRA-GSF δύναμιςN3I-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ἐπιστρέφωVAI-AAI3P εἰςP ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF ὁRA-GPM *φυλιστιιμN--GPM |
[32]So they made a covenant at Beer-sheba; and Abimelech rose up, and Phicol the captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines. |
[33]καίC φυτεύωVAI-AAI3S *αβρααμN--NSM ἄρουραN1A-ASF ἐπίP ὁRA-DSN φρέαρN3T-DSN ὁRA-GSM ὅρκοςN2-GSM καίC ἐπικαλέωVAI-AMI3S ἐκεῖD ὁRA-ASN ὄνομαN3M-ASN κύριοςN2-GSM θεόςN2-NSM αἰώνιοςA1B-NSM |
[33]And Abraham planted a tamarisk-tree in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇, the Everlasting God. |
[34]παραοἰκέωVAI-AAI3S δέX *αβρααμN--NSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF γῆN1-DSF ὁRA-GPM *φυλιστιιμN--GPM ἡμέραN1A-APF πολύςA1-APF |
[34]And Abraham sojourned in the land of the Philistines many days. |
