[1]Then Isaac called Jacob and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Take not a wife of the daughters of Canaan. |

[2]Arise, get thee to Padan-aram to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father, and thence take thee a wife of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother. |
[3]ὁRA-NSM δέX θεόςN2-NSM ἐγώRP-GS εὐλογέωVA-AAO3S σύRP-AS καίC αὐξάνωVA-AAO3S σύRP-AS καίC πληθύνωVA-AAO3S σύRP-AS καίC εἰμίVF-FMI2S εἰςP συναγωγήN1-APF ἔθνοςN3E-GPN |
[3]And God all sufficient bless thee, and make thee to increase, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people, |
[4]καίC δίδωμιVO-AAO3S σύRP-DS ὁRA-ASF εὐλογίαN1A-ASF *αβρααμN--GSM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM ἐγώRP-GS σύRP-DS καίC ὁRA-DSN σπέρμαN3M-DSN σύRP-GS μετάP σύRP-AS κληρονομέωVA-AAN ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF ὁRA-GSF παροίκησιςN3I-GSF σύRP-GS ὅςRR-ASF δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-DSM *αβρααμN--DSM |
[4]And give thee the blessing of Abraham, even to thee and to thy seed with thee, that thou mayest inherit the land (wherein thou art a stranger,) which God gave unto Abraham. |

[5]Thus Isaac sent forth Jacob, and he went to Padan-aram unto Laban son of Bethuel the Aramite [Syrian], brother to Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother. |
[6]ὁράωVBI-AAI3S δέX *ησαυN--NSM ὅτιC εὐλογέωVA-AAI3S *ισαακN--NSM ὁRA-ASM *ἰακώβN--ASM καίC ἀποοἴχομαιV1I-IMI3S εἰςP ὁRA-ASF *μεσοποταμίαN1A-ASF *συρίαN1A-GSF λαμβάνωVB-AAN ἑαυτοῦRD-DSM ἐκεῖθενD γυνήN3K-ASF ἐνP ὁRA-DSN εὐλογέωV2-PAN αὐτόςRD-ASM καίC ἐντέλλομαιVAI-AMI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM λέγωV1-PAPNSM οὐD λαμβάνωVF-FMI2S γυνήN3K-ASF ἀπόP ὁRA-GPF θυγάτηρN3-GPF *χαναανN--GS |
[6]When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him to Padanaram, to set him a wife thence, and given him a charge when he blessed him, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan, |
[7]καίC ἀκούωVAI-AAI3S *ἰακώβN--NSM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM καίC ὁRA-GSF μήτηρN3-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3S εἰςP ὁRA-ASF *μεσοποταμίαN1A-ASF *συρίαN1A-GSF |
[7]And that Jacob had obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padan-aram: |
[8]καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3S *ησαυN--NSM ὅτιC πονηρόςA1A-NPF εἰμίV9-PAI3P ὁRA-NPF θυγάτηρN3-NPF *χαναανN--GS ἐναντίονP *ισαακN--GSM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[8]Also Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan displeased Isaac his father, |
[9]καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3S *ησαυN--NSM πρόςP *ισμαηλN--ASM καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASF *μαελεθN--ASF θυγάτηρN3-ASF *ισμαηλN--GSM ὁRA-GSM υἱόςN2-GSM *αβρααμN--GSM ἀδελφήN1-ASF *ναβαιωθN--GSM πρόςP ὁRA-DPF γυνήN3K-DPF αὐτόςRD-GSM γυνήN3K-ASF |
[9]Then went Esau to Ishmael, and took unto the wives, which he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nabajoth, to be his wife. |
[10]καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S *ἰακώβN--NSM ἀπόP ὁRA-GSN φρέαρN3T-GSN ὁRA-GSM ὅρκοςN2-GSM καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3S εἰςP *χαρρανN--GS |
[10]Now Jacob departed from Beer-sheba, and went to Haran, |
[11]καίC ἀποἀντάωVAI-AAI3S τόποςN2-DSM καίC κοιμάωVCI-API3S ἐκεῖD δύωVBI-AAI3S γάρX ὁRA-NSM ἥλιοςN2-NSM καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S ἀπόP ὁRA-GPM λίθοςN2-GPM ὁRA-GSM τόποςN2-GSM καίC τίθημιVAI-AAI3S πρόςP κεφαλήN1-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC κοιμάωVCI-API3S ἐνP ὁRA-DSM τόποςN2-DSM ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSM |
[11]And he came unto a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was down, and took of the stones of the place, and laid under his head and slept in the same place. |
[12]καίC ἐνὑπνιάζωVSI-API3S καίC ἰδούI κλίμαξN3K-NSF στηρίζωVK-XMPNSF ἐνP ὁRA-DSF γῆN1-DSF ὅςRR-GSF ὁRA-NSF κεφαλήN1-NSF ἀποἱκνέομαιV2I-IMI3S εἰςP ὁRA-ASM οὐρανόςN2-ASM καίC ὁRA-NPM ἄγγελοςN2-NPM ὁRA-GSM θεόςN2-GSM ἀναβαίνωV1I-IAI3P καίC καταβαίνωV1I-IAI3P ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-GSF |
[12]Then he dreamed, and behold, there stood a ladder upon the earth, and the top of it reached up to heaven: and lo, the Angels of God went up and down by it. |

[13]And behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land, upon the which thou sleepest, will I give thee and thy seed. |
[14]καίC εἰμίVF-FMI3S ὁRA-NSN σπέρμαN3M-NSN σύRP-GS ὡςC ὁRA-NSF ἄμμοςN2-NSF ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF καίC πλατύνωVC-FPI3S ἐπίP θάλασσαN1S-ASF καίC ἐπίP λίψN3-ASM καίC ἐπίP βορέαςN1T-ASM καίC ἐπίP ἀνατολήN1-APF καίC ἐνεὐλογέωVC-FPI3P ἐνP σύRP-DS πᾶςA1S-NPF ὁRA-NPF φυλήN1-NPF ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF καίC ἐνP ὁRA-DSN σπέρμαN3M-DSN σύRP-GS |
[14]And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south, and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. |
[15]καίC ἰδούI ἐγώRP-NS μετάP σύRP-GS διαφυλάσσωV1-PAPNSM σύRP-AS ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ὁδόςN2-DSF πᾶςA1S-DSF οὗD ἐάνC πορεύομαιVC-APS2S καίC ἀποστρέφωVF-FAI1S σύRP-AS εἰςP ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF οὗτοςRD-ASF ὅτιC οὐD μήD σύRP-AS ἐν καταλείπωVB-AAS1S ἕωςP ὁRA-GSN ποιέωVA-AAN ἐγώRP-AS πᾶςA3-APN ὅσοςA1-APN λαλέωVAI-AAI1S σύRP-DS |
[15]And lo, I am with thee, and will keep thee whithersoever thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land: for I will not forsake thee until I have performed that, that I have promised thee. |
[16]καίC ἐκἐγείρωVCI-API3S *ἰακώβN--NSM ἀπόP ὁRA-GSM ὕπνοςN2-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὅτιC εἰμίV9-PAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSM τόποςN2-DSM οὗτοςRD-DSM ἐγώRP-NS δέX οὐD οἶδαVXI-YAI3S |
[16]Then Jacob awoke out of his sleep, and said, Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware. |
[17]καίC φοβέωVCI-API3S καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὡςC φοβερόςA1A-NSM ὁRA-NSM τόποςN2-NSM οὗτοςRD-NSM οὐD εἰμίV9-PAI3S οὗτοςRD-NSN ἀλλάC ἤC οἶκοςN2-NSM θεόςN2-GSM καίC οὗτοςRD-NSF ὁRA-NSF πύληN1-NSF ὁRA-GSM οὐρανόςN2-GSM |
[17]And he was afraid, and said, How fearful is this place! This is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven. |
[18]καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3S *ἰακώβN--NSM ὁRA-ASN πρωΐD καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASM λίθοςN2-ASM ὅςRR-ASM ὑποτίθημιVAI-AAI3S ἐκεῖD πρόςP κεφαλήN1-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ἵστημιVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM στήληN1-ASF καίC ἐπιχέωV2I-IAI3S ἔλαιονN2N-ASN ἐπίP ὁRA-ASN ἄκροςA1A-ASN αὐτόςRD-GSF |
[18]Then Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had laid under his head, and set it up as a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. |
[19]καίC καλέωVAI-AAI3S *ἰακώβN--NSM ὁRA-ASN ὄνομαN3M-ASN ὁRA-GSM τόποςN2-GSM ἐκεῖνοςRD-GSM *οἶκοςN2-NSM θεόςN2-GSM καίC *ουλαμλουςN--N εἰμίV9-IAI3S ὄνομαN3M-ASN ὁRA-DSF πόλιςN3I-DSF ὁRA-ASN πρότεροςA1A-ASN |
[19]And he called the name of that place Bethel: notwithstanding the name of the city was at the first called Luz. |
[20]καίC εὔχομαιVAI-AMI3S *ἰακώβN--NSM εὐχήN1-ASF λέγωV1-PAPNSM ἐάνC εἰμίV9-PAS3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM μετάP ἐγώRP-GS καίC διαφυλάσσωVA-AAS3S ἐγώRP-AS ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ὁδόςN2-DSF οὗτοςRD-DSF ὅςRR-DSF ἐγώRP-NS πορεύομαιV1-PMI1S καίC δίδωμιVO-AAS3S ἐγώRP-DS ἄρτοςN2-ASM ἐσθίωVB-AAN καίC ἱμάτιονN2N-ASN περιβάλλωVB-AMN |
[20]Then Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this journey which I go, and will give me bread to eat, and clothes to put on: |
[21]καίC ἀποστρέφωVA-AAS3S ἐγώRP-AS μετάP σωτηρίαN1A-GSF εἰςP ὁRA-ASM οἶκοςN2-ASM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM ἐγώRP-GS καίC εἰμίVF-FMI3S ἐγώRP-DS κύριοςN2-NSM εἰςP θεόςN2-ASM |
[21]So that I come again unto my father's house in safety, then shall the Lord be my God. |
[22]καίC ὁRA-NSM λίθοςN2-NSM οὗτοςRD-NSM ὅςRR-ASM ἵστημιVAI-AAI1S στήληN1-ASF εἰμίVF-FMI3S ἐγώRP-DS οἶκοςN2-NSM θεόςN2-GSM καίC πᾶςA3-GPN ὅςRR-GPN ἐάνC ἐγώRP-DS δίδωμιVO-AAS2S δέκατοςA1-ASF ἀποδεκατόωVF-FAI1S αὐτόςRD-APN σύRP-DS |
[22]And this stone, which I have set up as a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me, will I give the tenth unto thee. |
