| [1]And two years after, Pharaoh also dreamed, and behold, he stood by a river, |
[1]ܘܲܗ̤ܘܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܒܵܬܲܪ ܬܲܪܬܹܿܝܢ ܫܢ̈ܝܼܢ: ܘܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܚܠܲܡ ܚܸܠܡܵܐ: ܘܗܵܐ ܩܵܐܹܡ ܥܲܠ ܢܲܗܪܵܐ. |
| [2]And lo, there came out of the river seven goodly kine and fat fleshed, and they fed in a meadow: |
[2]ܘܗܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܢܲܗܪܵܐ ܣܵܠܩܲܢ ܫܒܲܥ ܬܵܘܪ̈ܵܢ: ܫܲܦܝܼܪܵܢ ܒܚܸܙܘܗܹܝܢ: ܘܫܲܡܝܼܢܲܢ ܒܒܸܣܪܗܹܝܢ: ܘܪܵܥܝܵܢ ܒܡܲܪܓܵܐ. |
| [3]And lo, seven other kine came up after the out of the river, evil favored and lean fleshed, and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river. |
[3]ܘܗܵܐ ܫܒܲܥ ܬܵܘܪ̈ܵܬܼܵܐ ܐ̄ܚܪܵܢܝܵܬܼܵܐ ܣܵܠܩܵܢ ܒܵܬܲܪܗܹܝܢ ܡ̣ܢ ܢܲܗܪܵܐ: ܒܝܼܫܵܢ ܒܚܸܙܘܗܹܝܢ ܘܲܡܚܝܼܠܲܢ ܒܒܸܣܪܗܹܝܢ: ܘܩܵܡܹ̈ܝܢ ܥܲܠ ܓܹܢ̄ܒ݂ ܬܵܘܪܵܬܼܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܣܸܦܲܬܼ ܢܲܗܪܵܐ. |
| [4]And the evil favored and lean fleshed kine did eat up the seven well favored and fat kine: so Pharaoh awoke. |
[4]ܘܐܸܟܲܠ ܬܵܘܪܵܬܼܵܐ ܕܒ݂ܝܼܫܵܢ ܒܚܸܙܘܗܹܝܢ ܘܲܡܚܝܼܠܲܢ ܒܒܸܣܪܗܹܝܢ: ܠܲܫܒܲܥ ܬܵܘܪܵܬܼܵܐ ܕܫܲܦܝܼܪܵܢ ܒܚܸܙܘܗܹܝܢ ܘܫܲܡܝܼܢܲܢ ܒܒܸܣܪܗܹܝܢ: ܘܐܸܬܿܬܿܥܝܼܪ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ. |
| [5]Again he slept, and dreamed the second time: and behold, seven ears of corn grew upon one stalk, rank and goodly. |
[5]ܘܲܕ݂ܡܸܟ ܘܲܚܠܲܡ ܕܬܲܪܬܹܿܝܢ ܙܲܒ݂ܢܝܼܢ: ܘܗܵܐ ܫܒܲܥ ܫܸܒܿܠܝܼܢ ܣܵܠܩܵܢ ܒܩܲܢܝܵܐ ܚܲܕ݂: ܡܲܠܝܵܢ ܘܛܵܒ݂ܵܢ. |
| [6]And lo, seven thin ears, and blasted with the east wind, sprang up after them: |
[6]ܘܗܵܐ ܫܒܲܥ ܫܸܒܿܠܝܼܢ ܩܲܛܝܼܢܵܢ ܘܲܫܩܝܼܦܵܢ ܠܪܘܼܚܵܐ ܕܫܵܘܒܵܐ: ܝܲܥܝܵܢ ܒܵܬܲܪܗܹܝܢ. |
| [7]And the thin ears devoured the seven rank and full ears. Then Pharaoh awaked, and lo, it was a dream. |
[7]ܘܲܒ݂ܠܲܥ ܫܸܒܿܠܹ̈ܐ ܩܲܛܝܼܢܵܬܼܵܐ: ܠܲܫܒܲܥ ܫܸܒܿܠܹ̈ܐ ܫܲܡܝܼܢܵܬܼܵܐ ܘܡܲܠܝܵܬܼܵܐ: ܘܐܸܬܿܬܿܥܝܼܪ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܘܗܵܐ ܚܸܠܡܵܐ ܗ̄ܘܼ. |
| [8]Now when the morning came, his spirit was troubled: therefore he sent and called all the soothsayers of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof, and Pharaoh told them his dreams: but none could interpret them to Pharaoh. |
[8]ܘܲܗ̤ܘܵܐ ܒܨܲܦܪܵܐ: ܘܐܸܬܿܛܲܪܦܲܬܼ ܪܘܼܚܹܗ ܕܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ: ܘܫܲܕܲܪ ܩܪܵܐ ܠܟ݂ܠܗܘܿܢ ܚܲܪܵܫܹܐ: ܘܲܠܟ݂ܠܗܘܿܢ ܚܲܟܿܝܼܡ݂ܹܝܗ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ: ܘܐܸܫܬܲܥܝܼ ܠܗܘܿܢ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܚܸܠܡܵܘܗܝ: ܘܠܲܝܬ ܐ̄ܢܵܫ ܕܦܵܫܲܪ ܠܗܘܿܢ ܠܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ. |
| [9]Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I call to mind my faults this day. |
[9]ܘܡܲܠܸܠ ܪܲܒ ܫܵܩܵܘ̈ܵܬܼܵܐ ܩܕ݂ܵܡ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܘܐܸܡܲܪ݂: ܣܘܼܪܚܵܢܝ ܡܲܕ݂ܟܲܪ ܐ̄ܢܵܐ ܝܵܘܡܵܢܵܐ. |
| [10]Pharaoh being angry with his servants, put me in ward in the chief steward's house, both me and the chief baker. |
[10]ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܪܓܸܙ ܥܲܠ ܥܲܒ݂ܕܵܘ̈ܗܝ: ܘܐܲܪܡܝܲܢܝ ܒܹܝܬܼ ܐܲܣܝܼܪܹ̈ܐ ܒܹܝܬܼ ܪܲܒ ܕܲܚܫܹ̈ܐ: ܠܝܼ ܘܲܠܪܲܒ ܢܲܚܬܿܘܼܡܹ̈ܐ. |
| [11]Then we dreamed a dream in one night, both I, and he: we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream. |
[11]ܘܲܚܠܲܡܢ ܚܸܠܡܹ̈ܐ ܒܠܸܠܝܵܐ ܚܲܕ݂ ܐܸܢܵܐ ܘܗܵܘ̇: ܓܒܲܪ ܐܲܝܟ ܦܫܵܪ ܚܸܠܡܹܗ ܚܠܲܡܢ. |
| [12]And there was with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant unto the chief steward, whom when we told, he declared our dreams to us, to every one he declared according to his dream. |
[12]ܘܬܲܡܵܢ ܥܲܡܵܢ ܥܠܲܝܡܵܐ ܥܸܒ݂ܪܵܝܵܐ: ܥܲܒ݂ܕܵܐ ܕܪܲܒ ܕܲܚܫܹ̈ܐ: ܘܐܸܫܬܲܥܝܼܢ ܠܹܗ ܘܲܦܫܲܪ ܠܲܢ ܚܸܠܡܲܝ̈ܢ: ܐ̄ܢܵܫ ܐܲܝܟ ܚܸܠܡܹܗ ܦܫܲܪ. |
| [13]And as he declared unto us, so it came to pass: for he restored me to mine office, and hanged him. |
[13]ܘܐܲܝܟ ܕܲܦܫܲܪ ܠܲܢ: ܗܵܟܲܢܵܐ ܗܘܵܐ ܠܲܢ: ܠܝܼ ܐܲܗܦܸܟ ܥܲܠ ܫܸܕܲܬܼܝ: ܘܲܠܗܵܘ̇ ܙܩܲܦ. |
| [14]Then sent Pharaoh, and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of prison, and he shaved him, and changed his raiment, and came to Pharaoh. |
[14]ܘܫܲܕܲܪ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܘܲܩܪܵܝܗܝ ܠܝܵܘܣܸܦ: ܘܐܲܪܗܛܘܼܗܝ ܡ̣ܢ ܓܘܼܒܵܐ: ܘܲܓܪܵܥ ܘܚܲܠܸܦ ܢܲܚܬܵܘ̈ܗܝ: ܘܥܲܠ ܩܕ݂ܵܡ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ. |
| [15]Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and no man can interpret it, and I have heard say of thee, that when thou hearest a dream, thou canst interpret it. |
[15]ܘܐܸܡܲܪ݂ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܠܝܵܘܣܸܦ: ܚܸܠܡܵܐ ܚܸܠܡܹܬܼ ܘܦܵܫܘܿܪܵܐ ܠܲܝܬܿ ܠܹܗ: ܘܐܸܢܵܐ ܫܸܡܥܹܬܼ ܥܠܲܝܟ: ܕܫܵܡܲܥ ܐܲܢ̄ܬ ܚܸܠܡܹ̈ܐ ܘܦܵܫܲܪ ܐܲܢ̄ܬܿ ܠܹܗ. |
| [16]And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, Without me God shall answer for the wealth of Pharaoh. |
[16]ܥܢܵܐ ܝܵܘܣܸܦ ܘܐܸܡܲܪ݂ ܠܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ: ܕܲܠܡܵܐ ܣܵܒܲܪ ܐ̄ܢܵܐ ܕܒܸܠܥܵܕ݂ ܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ ܢܸܥܢܸܐ ܫܠܵܡܵܐ ܠܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ. |
| [17]And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood by the bank of the river: |
[17]ܘܐܸܡܲܪ݂ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܠܝܵܘܣܸܦ: ܒܚܸܠܡܝ: ܗܵܐ ܩܵܐܹܡ ܐ̄ܢܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܣܸܦܲܬܼ ܢܲܗܪܵܐ. |
| [18]And lo, there came up out of the river seven fat fleshed, and well favored kine, and they fed in the meadow. |
[18]ܘܗܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܢܲܗܪܵܐ ܣܵܠܩܵܢ ܫܒܲܥ ܬܵܘܪܵܬܼܵܐ ܫܲܡܝܼܢܲܢ ܒܒܸܣܪܗܹܝܢ: ܘܫܲܦܝܼܪ ܚܸܙܘܗܹܝܢ: ܘܪܵܥܝܵܢ ܒܡܲܪܓܵܐ. |
| [19]Also lo, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very evil favored, and lean fleshed: I never saw the like in all the land of Egypt, for evil favored. |
[19]ܘܗܵܐ ܫܒܲܥ ܬܵܘܪܲܢ ܐ̄ܚܪܵܢܝܼܢ ܣܵܠܩܵܢ ܒܵܬܲܪܗܹܝܢ: ܒܨܝܼܪܵܢ ܘܒ݂ܝܼܫ ܚܸܙܘܗܹܝܢ: ܘܲܡܚܝܼܠ ܒܸܣܪܗܹܝܢ ܛܵܒ݂: ܘܠܵܐ ܚܙܹܝܬܼ ܕܒ݂ܝܼܫܵܢ ܐܲܟ݂ܘܵܬܼܗܹܝܢ ܒܟ݂ܠܵܗ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ. |
| [20]And the lean and evil favored kine did eat up the first seven fat kine. |
[20]ܘܐܸܟܲܠ ܬܵܘܪܵܬܼܵܐ ܡܚܝܼܠܵܬܼܵܐ ܘܒ݂ܝܼܫܵܬܼܵܐ: ܠܲܫܒܲܥ ܬܵܘܪܵܬܼܵܐ ܩܲܕ݂ܡܵܝܵܬܼܵܐ ܫܲܡܝܼܢܵܬܼܵܐ. |
| [21]And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them, but they were still as evil favored, as they were at the beginning: so did I awake. |
[21]ܘܥܲܠ ܠܓ݂ܵܘܗܹܝܢ: ܘܠܵܐ ܐܸܬܼܝܼܕܲܥ ܕܥܲܠ ܠܓ݂ܵܘܗܹܝܢ: ܘܚܸܙܘܗܹܝܢ ܒܝܼܫ ܐܲܝܟ ܕܲܒ݂ܩܲܕ݂ܡܵܝܬܵܐ: ܘܐܸܬܿܬܿܥܝܼܪܹܬܼ. |
| [22]Moreover I saw in my dream, and behold, seven ears sprang out of one stalk, full and fair. |
[22]ܘܬܼܘܼܒ݂ ܚܙܹܝܬܼ ܒܚܸܠܡܝ: ܘܗܵܐ ܫܒܲܥ ܫܸܒܿܠܝܼܢ ܣܵܠܩܵܢ ܒܩܲܢܝܵܐ ܚܲܕ݂: ܡܲܠܝܵܢ ܘܛܵܒ݂ܵܢ. |
| [23]And lo, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprang up after them. |
[23]ܘܗܵܐ ܫܒܲܥ ܫܸܒܿܠܝܼܢ ܩܲܛܝܼܢܲܢ ܘܲܫܩܝܼܦܲܢ ܠܪܘܼܚܵܐ ܕܫܵܘܒܵܐ ܝܲܥܝܵܢ ܒܵܬܲܪܗܹܝܢ. |
| [24]And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears. Now I have told the soothsayers, and none can declare it unto me. |
[24]ܘܲܒ݂ܠܲܥ ܫܸܒܿܠܹ̈ܐ ܩܲܛܝܼܢܵܬܼܵܐ ܠܲܫܒܲܥ ܫܸܒܿܠܹ̈ܐ ܛܵܒ݂ܵܬܼܵܐ: ܘܐܸܡܪܹܬܼ ܠܚܲܪܵܫܹܐ ܘܠܲܝܬ ܕܲܡܚܵܘܹܐ ܠܝܼ. |
| [25]Then Joseph answered Pharaoh, Both Pharaoh's dreams are one. God hath showed Pharaoh, what he is about to do. |
[25]ܘܐܸܡܲܪ݂ ܝܵܘܣܸܦ ܠܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ: ܚܸܠܡܵܐ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܚܲܕ݂ ܗ̄ܘܼ: ܡܸܕܸܿܡ ܕܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ ܥܵܒܹܕ݂ ܚܵܘܝܼ ܠܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ. |
| [26]The seven good kine are seven years, and the seven good ears are seven years: this is one dream. |
[26]ܫܒܲܥ ܬܵܘܪܵܬܼܵܐ ܛܵܒ݂ܵܬܼܵܐ ܫܒܲܥ ܐܸܢܹܝܢ ܫܢ̈ܝܼܢ: ܘܲܫܒܲܥ ܫܸܒܿܠܹ̈ܐ ܛܵܒ݂ܵܬܼܵܐ ܫܒܲܥ ܐܸܢܹܝܢ ܫܢ̈ܝܼܢ: ܚܸܠܡܵܐ ܚܲܕ݂ܘܼ. |
| [27]Likewise the seven thin and evil favored kine, that came out after them, are seven years: and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind, are seven years of famine. |
[27]ܘܲܫܒܲܥ ܬܵܘܪܵܬܼܵܐ ܡܚܝܼܠܵܬܼܵܐ ܘܒ݂ܝܼܫܵܬܼܵܐ: ܕܣܵܠܩܵܢ ܒܵܬܲܪܗܹܝܢ: ܫܒܲܥ ܐܸܢܹܝܢ ܫܢ̈ܝܼܢ: ܘܲܫܒܲܥ ܫܸܒܿܠܹ̈ܐ ܩܲܛܝܼܢܵܬܼܵܐ ܕܲܫܩܝܼܦܵܢ ܠܪܘܼܚܵܐ ܕܫܵܘܒܵܐ: ܢܸܗܘܝܵܢ ܫܒܲܥ ܫܢ̈ܝܼܢ ܕܟܲܦܢܵܐ. |
| [28]This is the thing which I have said unto Pharaoh, that God hath showed unto Pharaoh, what he is about to do. |
[28]ܗܘܼ ܦܸܬܼܓ݂ܵܡܵܐ ܕܐܸܡܪܹܬܼ ܠܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ: ܐܲܝܠܹܝܢ ܕܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ ܥܵܒܹܕ݂: ܚܵܘܝܼ ܠܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ. |
| [29]Behold, there come seven years of great plenty in all the land of Egypt. |
[29]ܘܗܵܐ ܫܒܲܥ ܫܢ̈ܝܼܢ ܐܵܬܼܝܵܢ: ܣܲܒ݂ܥܵܐ ܪܲܒܵܐ ܒܟ݂ܠܵܗ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ. |
| [30]Again, there shall arise after them seven years of famine, so that all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt, and the famine shall consume the land: |
[30]ܘܲܢܩܘܼܡܵܢ ܫܒܲܥ ܫܢ̈ܝܼܢ ܕܟܲܦܢܵܐ ܒܵܬܲܪܗܹܝܢ: ܘܢܸܬܼܛܥܸܐ ܟܠܹܗ ܣܲܒ݂ܥܵܐ ܕܲܗܘܵܐ ܒܟ݂ܠܵܗ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ: ܘܲܢܣܝܼܦ ܟܲܦܢܵܐ ܠܐܲܪܥܵܐ. |
| [31]Neither shall the plenty be known in the land, by reason of this famine that shall come after: for it shall be exceeding great. |
[31]ܘܠܵܐ ܢܸܬܼܝܼܕܲܥ ܣܲܒ݂ܥܵܐ ܒܐܲܪܥܵܐ: ܡܸܛܠ ܟܲܦܢܵܐ ܗܘܵ ܕܡ̣ܢ ܒܵܬܲܪܟܸܿܝܢ ܕܥܲܫܝܼܢ ܗ̄ܘܼ ܛܵܒ݂. |
| [32]And therefore the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh the second time, because the thing is established by God, and God hasteth to perform it. |
[32]ܘܕܸܐܬܿܬܿܢܝܼ ܚܸܠܡܵܐ ܠܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܕܬܲܪܬܹܿܝܢ ܙܲܒ݂ܢܝܼܢ: ܕܲܡܛܲܝܲܒ݂ ܦܸܬܼܓ݂ܵܡܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܩܕ݂ܵܡ ܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ: ܘܲܡܣܲܪܗܸܒ݂ ܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ ܠܡܸܥܒܿܕܹܗ. |
| [33]Now therefore let Pharaoh provide for a man of understanding and wisdom, and set him over the land of Egypt. |
[33]ܗܵܫܵܐ ܢܸܚܙܸܐ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܓܲܒ݂ܪܵܐ ܚܲܟܿܝܼܡܵܐ ܘܣܲܟܿܘܼܠܬܼܵܢܵܐ: ܘܲܢܩܝܼܡܝܼܘܗܝ ܥܲܠ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ. |
| [34]Let Pharaoh make and appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years. |
[34]ܘܢܸܥܒܸܿܕ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܘܲܢܩܝܼܡ ܫܲܠܝܼܛܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ: ܘܢܸܣܒ݂ܘܼܢ ܚܲܕ݂ ܡ̣ܢ ܚܲܡܫܵܐ ܒܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ: ܒܲܫܒܲܥ ܫܢܲܝܵܐ ܕܣܲܒ݂ܥܵܐ. |
| [35]Also let them gather all the food of these good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh for food, in the cities, and let them keep it. |
[35]ܘܲܢܟܲܢܫܘܼܢ ܥܒ݂ܘܼܪܵܐ ܕܲܫܢܲܝܵܐ ܗܵܠܹܝܢ ܛܵܒ݂ܵܬܼܵܐ ܕܐܵܬܼܝܵܢ: ܘܢܸܚܡܠܘܼܢ ܥܒ݂ܘܼܪܵܐ ܬܚܹܝܬܼ ܐܝܼܕ݂ܵܐ ܕܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ: ܥܒ݂ܘܼܪܵܐ ܒܩܘܼܪ̈ܝܵܐ ܢܸܛܪܘܼܢ. |
| [36]So the food shall be for the provision of the land, against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt, that the land perish not by famine. |
[36]ܘܢܸܗܘܸܐ ܥܒ݂ܘܼܪܵܐ ܢܛܝܼܪ ܠܐܲܪܥܵܐ: ܠܲܫܒܲܥ ܫܢܲܝܵܐ ܕܟܲܦܢܵܐ ܕܗܵܘ̇ܝܵܢ ܒܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ: ܘܠܵܐ ܬܣܘܼܦ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܒܟܲܦܢܵܐ. |
| [37]And the saying pleased Pharaoh and all his servants. |
[37]ܘܲܫܦܲܪ ܦܸܬܼܓ݂ܵܡܵܐ ܒܥܲܝܢܲܝ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ: ܘܲܒ݂ܥܲܝܢܲܝ ܥܲܒ݂ܕܵܘܗܝ. |
| [38]Then said Pharaoh unto his servants, Can we find such a man as this, in whom is the Spirit of God? |
[38]ܘܐܸܡܲܪ݂ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܠܥܲܒ݂ܕܵܘܗܝ: ܡܸܫܬܿܟܲܚ ܐܲܝܟ ܓܲܒ݂ܪܵܐ ܗܵܢܵܐ ܕܪܘܼܚܵܐ ܕܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ ܐܝܼܬܼ ܒܹܗ. |
| [39]The Pharaoh said to Joseph, For as much as God hath showed thee all this, there is no man of understanding, or of wisdom like unto thee. |
[39]ܘܐܸܡܲܪ݂ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܠܝܵܘܣܸܦ: ܡ̣ܢ ܒܵܬܲܪ ܕܐܵܘܕܿܥܵܟ݂ ܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ ܗܵܕܹܐ ܟܠܵܗ: ܠܲܝܬ ܕܚܲܟܿܝܼܡ ܘܣܲܟܿܘܼܠܬܼܵܢ ܐܲܟ݂ܘܵܬܼܵܟ. |
| [40]Thou shalt be over mine house, and at thy word shall all my people be armed, only in the king's throne will I be above thee. |
[40]ܐܲܢ̄ܬ ܬܸܗܘܸܐ ܥܲܠ ܒܲܝܬܝ: ܘܥܲܠ ܡܸܠܲܬܼ ܦܘܼܡܵܟ݂ ܢܸܣܲܒ݂ ܕܝܼܢܵܐ ܟܠܹܗ ܥܲܡܝ: ܒܲܠܚܘܿܕ݂ ܟܘܼܪܣܝܵܐ ܐܹܪܲܒ݂ ܡܸܢܵܟ. |
| [41]Moreover Pharaoh said to Joseph, Behold, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. |
[41]ܘܐܸܡܲܪ݂ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܠܝܵܘܣܸܦ: ܚܙܝܼ ܕܐܲܫܠܸܛܬܵܟ݂ ܥܲܠ ܟܠܵܗ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ. |
| [42]And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in garments of fine linen, and put a golden chain about his neck. |
[42]ܘܲܫܩܲܠ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܥܹܙܲܩܬܼܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܐܝܼܕܹܗ: ܘܣܵܡܵܗܿ ܒܐܝܼܕܹܗ ܕܝܵܘܣܸܦ: ܘܐܲܠܒܿܫܹܗ ܠܒ݂ܘܼܫܵܐ ܕܒ݂ܘܼܨܵܐ: ܘܐܲܪܡܝܼ ܗܲܡܢܝܼܟ݂ܵܐ ܕܕܲܗܒ݂ܵܐ ܒܨܵܘܪܹܗ. |
| [43]So he set him upon the best chariot that he had, save one: and they cried before him, Abrech, and placed him over all the land of Egypt. |
[43]ܘܐܲܬܿܒܹܗ ܒܡܲܪܟܲܒ݂ܬܼܵܐ ܐ̄ܚܪܹܬܼܵܐ ܕܝܼܠܹܗ: ܘܲܩܪܵܐ ܩܕ݂ܵܡܵܘܗܝ ܐܲܒ݂ܵܐ ܘܫܲܠܝܼܛܵܐ: ܘܐܲܫܠܛܹܗ ܥܲܠ ܟܠܵܗ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ. |
| [44]Again Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or his foot in all the land of Egypt. |
[44]ܘܐܸܡܲܪ݂ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܠܝܵܘܣܸܦ: ܐܸܢܵܐ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܦܸܩܕܹܬܼ: ܕܒܸܠܥܵܕܲܝܟ ܐ̄ܢܵܫ ܠܵܐ ܢܪܝܼܡ ܐܝܼܕܹܗ ܐܵܘ ܪܸܓܼܠܹܗ ܒܟ݂ܠܵܗ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ. |
| [45]And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnath-paaneah: and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah prince of On. Then went Joseph abroad in the land of Egypt. |
[45]ܘܲܩܪܵܐ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܫܡܹܗ ܕܝܵܘܣܸܦ: ܨܲܦܢܲܬܼ ܦܲܥܢܲܚ: ܕܟܲܣܝܵܬܼܵܐ ܓܲܠܝܵܢ ܠܹܗ: ܘܝܲܗ̄ܒ݂ ܠܹܗ ܠܐܲܣܝܲܬܼ ܒܲܪܬܼ ܦܘܿܛܝܼܦܲܪ ܟܘܼܡܪܵܐ ܕܐܘܿܢ: ܐܲܢ̄ܬܿܬܼܵܐ: ܘܲܢܦܲܩ ܝܵܘܣܸܦ ܥܲܠ ܟܠܵܗ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ. |
| [46]And Joseph was thirty year old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt: and Joseph departing from the presence of Pharaoh, went throughout all the land of Egypt. |
[46]ܘܝܵܘܣܸܦ ܒܲܪ ܬܠܵܬܼܝܼܢ ܗ̄ܘܵܐ ܫܢ̈ܝܼܢ: ܟܲܕ݂ ܩܵܡ ܩܕ݂ܵܡ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܡܲܠܟܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ: ܘܲܢܦܲܩ ܝܵܘܣܸܦ ܡ̣ܢ ܩܕ݂ܵܡ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ: ܘܲܥܒܲܪ ܒܟ݂ܠܵܗ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ. |
| [47]And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth store. |
[47]ܘܚܸܡܠܲܬܼ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܒܲܫܒܲܥ ܫܢܲܝܵܐ ܕܣܲܒ݂ܥܵܐ ܒܐܵܘܨܪܹ̈ܐ. |
| [48]And he gathered up all the food of the seven plenteous years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up food in the cities: the food of the field, that was round about every city, laid he up in the same. |
[48]ܘܲܚܡܲܠ ܟܠܹܗ ܥܒ݂ܘܼܪܵܐ ܕܲܫܒܲܥ ܫܢܲܝܵܐ ܕܣܲܒ݂ܥܵܐ ܕܲܗܘܲܝ ܒܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ: ܘܝܲܗ̄ܒ݂ ܥܒ݂ܘܼܪܵܐ ܒܩܘܼܪ̈ܝܵܐ: ܥܒ݂ܘܪܵܐ ܕܚܲܩܠܵܬܼܵܐ ܕܲܩܪܝܼܬܼܵܐ ܘܕܲܚܕ݂ܵܪܹܝܗ ܚܡܲܠ ܒܓܵܘܵܗ. |
| [49]So Joseph gathered wheat, like unto the sand of the sea in multitude out of measure, until he left numbering: for it was without number. |
[49]ܘܲܚܡܲܠ ܝܵܘܣܸܦ ܥܒ݂ܘܼܪܵܐ: ܐܲܝܟ ܚܵܠܵܐ ܕܝܲܡܵܐ ܣܘܿܓܼܐܵܐ ܕܛܵܒ݂: ܥܕܲܡܵܐ ܕܲܠܐܝܼ ܠܡܸܡܢܵܐ ܕܠܵܐ ܡܸܢܝܵܢܵܐ. |
| [50]Now unto Joseph were born two sons (before the years of famine came) which Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah prince of On bear unto him. |
[50]ܘܲܠܝܵܘܣܸܦ ܐܸܬܼܝܼܠܸܕ݂ܘ ܠܹܗ ܬܪܹܝܢ ܒܢܝܼܢ: ܥܲܕ݂ܠܵܐ ܬܸܥܘܿܠ ܫܲܢ̄ܬܵܐ ܕܟܲܦܢܵܐ: ܕܝܸܠܕܲܬܼ ܠܹܗ ܐܲܣܝܲܬܼ ܒܲܪܬܼ ܦܘܿܛܝܼܦܲܪ ܟܘܼܡܪܵܐ ܕܐܘܿܢ. |
| [51]And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: for God, said he, hath made me forget all my labor and all my father's household. |
[51]ܘܲܩܪܵܐ ܝܵܘܣܸܦ ܫܸܡ ܒܪܹܗ ܒܘܼܟ݂ܪܹܗ ܡܢܲܫܹܐ: ܡܸܛܠ ܕܐܲܢܫܝܲܢܝ ܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ ܟܠܹܗ ܥܲܡܠܝ ܘܟ݂ܠܹܗ ܒܹܝܬܼ ܐܲܒ݂ܝ. |
| [52]Also he called the name of the second, Ephraim: For God, said he hath made me fruitful in the land of mine affliction. |
[52]ܘܲܫܡܹܗ ܕܐ̄ܚܪܹܢܵܐ ܩܪܵܐ ܐܲܦܪܹܝܡ: ܡܸܛܠ ܕܐܲܦܪܝܲܢܝ ܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ ܒܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܫܘܼܥܒܵܕ݂ܝ. |
| [53]So the seven years of the plenty that was in the land of Egypt were ended. |
[53]ܘܲܓܼܡܲܪ ܫܒܲܥ ܫܢܲܝܵܐ ܕܣܲܒ݂ܥܵܐ ܕܲܗܘܲܝ ܒܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ. |
| [54]Then began the seven years of famine to come, according as Joseph had said: and the famine was in all lands, but in all the land of Egypt was bread. |
[54]ܘܫܲܪܝܼ ܫܒܲܥ ܫܢܲܝܵܐ ܕܟܲܦܢܵܐ ܠܡܹܐܬܼܵܐ ܐܲܝܟ ܕܐܸܡܲܪ ܝܵܘܣܸܦ: ܘܲܗ̤ܘܵܐ ܟܲܦܢܵܐ ܒܟ݂ܠܗܹܝܢ ܐܲܪܥܵܬܼܵܐ: ܘܲܒ݂ܟ݂ܠܵܗ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ ܠܵܐ ܗܘܵܐ ܠܲܚܡܵܐ. |
| [55]At the length all the land of Egypt was famished, and the people cried to Pharaoh for bread. And Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go to Joseph: what he saith to you, do ye. |
[55]ܘܟܸܦܢܲܬܼ ܟܠܵܗ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ: ܘܲܡܒܲܓܿܢܝܼܢ ܥܲܡܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܥܲܠ ܠܲܚܡܵܐ: ܘܐܸܡܲܪ݂ ܦܸܪܥܘܿܢ ܠܟ݂ܠܗܘܿܢ ܡܸܨܪܵܝܹܐ: ܙܸܠܘ ܠܘܵܬܼ ܝܵܘܣܸܦ: ܘܡܸܕܸܿܡ ܕܐܵܡܲܪ ܠܟ݂ܘܿܢ ܬܸܥܒܿܕ݂ܘܿܢ. |
| [56]When the famine was upon all the land, Joseph opened all places, wherein the store was, and sold unto the Egyptians: for the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt. |
[56]ܘܟܲܦܢܵܐ ܗܘܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܐܲܦܲܝ ܟܠܵܗ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ: ܘܲܦܬܲܚ ܝܵܘܣܸܦ ܐܵܘܨܪܹ̈ܐ: ܘܙܲܒܸܿܢ ܠܡܸܨܪܵܝܹܐ. |
| [57]And all countries came to Egypt to buy corn of Joseph, because the famine was sore in all lands. |
[57]ܘܲܥܫܸܢ ܟܲܦܢܵܐ ܒܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ: ܘܟ݂ܠܵܗ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܐܸܬܼܵܘ ܠܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ ܠܲܡܡܵܪ ܡ̣ܢ ܝܵܘܣܸܦ: ܡܸܛܠ ܕܲܥܫܸܢ ܟܲܦܢܵܐ ܒܟ݂ܠܵܗ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ. |
