| [1]IN many ways, and many forms, God anciently conversed with our fathers, by the prophets: |
[1]πολυμερως και πολυτροπως παλαι ο θεος λαλησας τοις πατρασιν εν τοις προφηταις |
| [2]But in these latter days, he hath conversed with us, by his Son; whom he hath constituted heir of all things, and by whom he made the worlds ; |
[2]επ εσχατων των ημερων τουτων ελαλησεν ημιν εν υιω ον εθηκεν κληρονομον παντων δι ου και τους αιωνας εποιησεν |
| [3]who is the splendor of his glory, and the image of himself, and upholdeth all by the energy of his word; and by himself he made a purgation of sins, and sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. |
[3]ος ων απαυγασμα της δοξης και χαρακτηρ της υποστασεως αυτου φερων τε τα παντα τω ρηματι της δυναμεως αυτου δι εαυτου καθαρισμον ποιησαμενος των αμαρτιων ημων εκαθισεν εν δεξια της μεγαλωσυνης εν υψηλοις |
| [4]And he is altogether superior to the angels, as he hath also inherited a name which excelleth theirs. |
[4]τοσουτω κρειττων γενομενος των αγγελων οσω διαφορωτερον παρ αυτους κεκληρονομηκεν ονομα |
| [5]For to which of the angels did God ever say, Thou art my SON, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? |
[5]τινι γαρ ειπεν ποτε των αγγελων υιος μου ει συ εγω σημερον γεγεννηκα σε και παλιν εγω εσομαι αυτω εις πατερα και αυτος εσται μοι εις υιον |
| [6]And again, when bringing the first begotten into the world, he said: Let all the angels of God worship him. |
[6]οταν δε παλιν εισαγαγη τον πρωτοτοκον εις την οικουμενην λεγει και προσκυνησατωσαν αυτω παντες αγγελοι θεου |
| [7]But of the angels he thus said: Who made his angels a wind, and his ministers a flaming fire. |
[7]και προς μεν τους αγγελους λεγει ο ποιων τους αγγελους αυτου πνευματα και τους λειτουργους αυτου πυρος φλογα |
| [8]But of the Son he said: Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; a righteous sceptre is the sceptre of thy kingdom. |
[8]προς δε τον υιον ο θρονος σου ο θεος εις τον αιωνα του αιωνος ραβδος ευθυτητος η ραβδος της βασιλειας σου |
| [9]Thou hast loved rectitude, and hated iniquity; therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness more than thy associates. |
[9]ηγαπησας δικαιοσυνην και εμισησας ανομιαν δια τουτο εχρισεν σε ο θεος ο θεος σου ελαιον αγαλλιασεως παρα τους μετοχους σου |
| [10]And again, Thou hast from the beginning laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of thy hands: |
[10]και συ κατ αρχας κυριε την γην εθεμελιωσας και εργα των χειρων σου εισιν οι ουρανοι |
| [11]they will pass away, but thou endurest; and they all, like a robe, wax old; |
[11]αυτοι απολουνται συ δε διαμενεις και παντες ως ιματιον παλαιωθησονται |
| [12]and like a cloak, thou wilt fold them up. They will be changed; but thou wilt be as thou art, and thy years will not be finished. |
[12]και ωσει περιβολαιον ελιξεις αυτους και αλλαγησονται συ δε ο αυτος ει και τα ετη σου ουκ εκλειψουσιν |
| [13]And to which of the angels did he ever say : Sit thou at my right hand, until I shall place thy enemies a footstool under thy feet? |
[13]προς τινα δε των αγγελων ειρηκεν ποτε καθου εκ δεξιων μου εως αν θω τους εχθρους σου υποποδιον των ποδων σου |
| [14]Are they not all spirits of ministration, who are sent to minister on account of them that are to inherit life? |
[14]ουχι παντες εισιν λειτουργικα πνευματα εις διακονιαν αποστελλομενα δια τους μελλοντας κληρονομειν σωτηριαν |
