PesNT(Mur)
The King James Version (w/Strong's)
KJV+
[1]Let us fear, therefore, lest while there is a firm promise of entering into his rest, any among you should be found coming short of entering. [1]Let usG5399 thereforeG3767 fearG5399[G5680], lestG3379, a promiseG1860 being leftG2641[G5746] us of enteringG1525[G5629] intoG1519 hisG846 restG2663, anyG5100 ofG1537 youG5216 should seemG1380[G5725] to come short of itG5302.[G5760]
[2]For to us also is the announcement, as well as to them: but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not mingled with the faith of those who heard it. [2]ForG2532[G1063] unto us wasG2070[G5748] the gospel preachedG2097[G5772], as well asG2509 unto themG2548: butG235 the wordG3056 preachedG189 didG5623 notG3756 profitG5623[G5656] themG1565, notG3361 being mixedG4786[G5772] with faithG4102 in them that heardG191 itG5660.
[3]But we, who have believed, do enter into rest. But as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, that they shall not enter into my rest: for lo, the works of God existed from the foundation of the world. [3]ForG1063 we whichG3588 have believedG4100[G5660] do enterG1525[G5736] intoG1519 restG2663, asG2531 he saidG2046[G5758], AsG5613 I have swornG3660[G5656] inG1722 myG3450 wrathG3709, ifG1487 they shall enterG1525[G5695] intoG1519 myG3450 restG2663: althoughG2543 the worksG2041 were finishedG1096[G5679] fromG575 the foundationG2602 of the worldG2889.
[4]As he said of the sabbath, God rested on the seventh day from all his works. [4]ForG1063 he spakeG2046[G5758] in a certain placeG4225 ofG4012 the seventhG1442 day on this wiseG3779, AndG2532 GodG2316 did restG2664[G5656] the seventhG1722[G1442] dayG2250 fromG575 allG3956 hisG846 worksG2041.
[5]And here again, he said, They shall not enter into my rest. [5]AndG2532 inG1722 thisG5129 place againG3825, IfG1487 they shall enterG1525[G5695] intoG1519 myG3450 restG2663.
[6]Therefore, because there was a place, whither one and another might enter; and those earlier persons, to whom the announcement was made, entered not, because they believed not: [6]SeeingG1893 thereforeG3767 it remainethG620[G5743] that someG5100 must enterG1525[G5629] thereinG1519[G846], andG2532 they to whom it was firstG4386 preachedG2097[G5685] enteredG1525 notG3756 inG1525[G5627] becauseG1223 of unbeliefG543:
[7]again he established another day, a long time afterwards; as above written, that David said, Today, if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. [7]AgainG3825, he limitethG3724[G5719] a certainG5100 dayG2250, sayingG3004[G5723] inG1722 DavidG1138, To dayG4594, afterG3326 so longG5118 a timeG5550; asG2531 it is saidG2046[G5769], To dayG4594 ifG1437 ye will hearG191[G5661] hisG846 voiceG5456, hardenG4645[G5725] notG3361 yourG5216 heartsG2588.
[8]For if Joshua, the son of Nun, had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterwards of another day. [8]ForG1063 ifG1487 JesusG2424 had givenG2664 themG846 restG2664[G5656], then would heG302 notG3756 afterwardG3326[G5023] have spokenG2980[G5707] ofG4012 anotherG243 dayG2250.
[9]Therefore it is established, that the people of God are to have a sabbath. [9]There remainethG620[G5743] thereforeG686 a restG4520 to the peopleG2992 of GodG2316.
[10]For he who had entered into his rest, hath also rested from his works, as God did from his. [10]ForG1063 he that is enteredG1525[G5631] intoG1519 hisG846 restG2663, heG846 alsoG2532 hath ceasedG2664[G5656] fromG575 his ownG846 worksG2041, asG5618 GodG2316 did fromG575 hisG2398.
[11]Let us, therefore, strive to enter into that rest; lest we fall short, after the manner of them who believed not. [11]Let us labourG4704[G5661] thereforeG3767 to enterG1525[G5629] intoG1519 thatG1565 restG2663, lestG3363 any manG5100 fallG4098[G5632] afterG1722 the sameG846 exampleG5262 of unbeliefG543.
[12]For the word of God is living, and all-efficient, and sharper than a two-edged sword, and entereth even to the severance of the soul and the spirit, and of the joints and the marrow and the bones, and judgeth the thoughts and reasonings of the heart: [12]ForG1063 the wordG3056 of GodG2316 is quickG2198[G5723], andG2532 powerfulG1756, andG2532 sharperG5114 thanG5228 anyG3956 twoedgedG1366 swordG3162, piercingG1338[G5740] even toG891 the dividing asunderG3311 of soulG5590 andG5037[G2532] spiritG4151, andG5037[G2532] of the jointsG719 andG2532 marrowG3452, andG2532 is a discernerG2924 of the thoughtsG1761 andG2532 intentsG1771 of the heartG2588.
[13]neither is there any creature, which is concealed from before him; but every thing is naked and manifest before his eyes, to whom we are to give account. [13]NeitherG2532[G3756] is thereG2076[G5748] any creatureG2937 that is not manifestG852 in hisG846 sightG1799: butG1161 all thingsG3956 are nakedG1131 andG2532 openedG5136[G5772] unto the eyesG3788 of himG846 withG4314 whomG3739 we haveG2254 to doG3056.
[14]Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, Jesus the Messiah, the son of God, who hath ascended to heaven; let us persevere in professing him. [14]SeeingG2192 thenG3767 that we haveG2192[G5723] a greatG3173 high priestG749, that is passed intoG1330[G5756] the heavensG3772, JesusG2424 the SonG5207 of GodG2316, let us hold fastG2902[G5725] our professionG3671.
[15]For we have not a high priest, who cannot sympathize with our infirmity; but [one] who was tempted in all respects like us, aside from sin. [15]ForG1063 we haveG2192[G5719] notG3756 an high priestG749 which cannotG3361[G1410][G5740] be touched with the feelingG4834[G5658] of ourG2257 infirmitiesG769; butG1161 wasG3985 inG2596 all pointsG3956 temptedG3985[G5772][G5625][G3987][G5772] likeG2596 asG3665 we are, yet withoutG5565 sinG266.
[16]Let us, therefore, approach with assurance to the throne of his grace, that we may obtain mercy, and may find grace for assistance in the time of affliction. [16]Let usG4334 thereforeG3767 comeG4334[G5741] boldlyG3326[G3954] unto the throneG2362 of graceG5485, thatG2443 we may obtainG2983[G5632] mercyG1656, andG2532 findG2147[G5632] graceG5485 to helpG996 inG1519 time of needG2121.
